Question Category - The GAMES I Like! Q 1: Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us? A: Final Fantasy XIV Q 2: Do you currently have characters playing in game? If so, What is the name of your in game character and what server are they on? A: Xjaron Elunin on Diablos server Q 3: Guilds can serve many roles, and as with most things, expectations matter. In order to get a better feel for whether this is a good fit, we would like to know what you look for in a guild. A: Looking mainly for a social mature crowd to enjoy the game with. Hopefully a little helpful advice along the way too as i'm completely new to the game. Q 4: When and How often do you usually play? This is so we know when to look for you in game and get you in the Guild. (Please add your time zone in the answer) A: Mainly evenings 20:00 gmt. I'm on most nights depending on shifts that I work Q 5: Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played them? Please share one of your favorite memories in a MMO you have played. A: Picked up UO in 1999 and I've been hooked on mmo's since, playing most along the way but best memories were in UO, asheron's call and Camelot. I enjoyed WoW but found it was always very grindy. I've met some great people along the way. Q 6: What is the best game you have ever played and why? A: There has been quite a few that I have fond memories of, hard to single out one. Mainly Ultima online, asheron's call, dark age of Camelot and WoW Q 7: Are there any upcoming games you're interested in playing? A:Happy with exploring FF14 at the moment. Question Category - Community OSD is a group of folks that has gamed together for more than ten years, many of us consider this group as extended family. The following questions help us to understand who YOU are as a person, not just a gamer. As we are more than just a gaming community we like to get to know a little about the folks that want to be part of it. Q 8: OSD advertises on various gaming websites, Facebook, Twitter, and in the games that we are playing. The following questions will help us know what formats are working and where we can improve. Who or What brought you to our Gates? A: Was searching for a mature FC to potentially join, to help with server selection for FF14 Q 9: There are many ways to engage and get the full guild experience with OSD. How often do you see yourself using the Forums / Discord rather than in-game to interact with the community? A: I don't own a mic so don't tend to join in with voice coms unless grouping/raiding etc.. I have been known to though. Forum posts tend to come as I get more comfortable with the people. Q 10: Please tell us a little about yourself. No need to be too explicit. We don’t need your home address or shoe size. Let us know about your hobbies if you have them. Do you have family? Pets? Work? Do you plan to conquer the world by using Lucky Rabbit’s feet or some other crazy idea? (This is probably one of the biggest questions on this application as it lets you tell us about you.) A: I'm a 42yr old married dad of 3 so I only tend to play evenings. My wife used to play other games too but I think she's taking a break currently. I work shifts as a maintenance engineer so depending on shifts my login times can vary but normally tend to be the evenings. Q 11: Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A: I love bacon, nice big bacon roll with brown sauce =) yum....
Welcome to the Gates, Xjaron! I see an FF XIV officer has already squared you away. Lot of new things happening with the site and guild. Check out some of the changes with the community update on the home page and/or the Silver Flagon Tavern for more of an RP-spin on things
Do you happen to remember where you found us? Was it a post in a recruitment thread, google search, the savory smell of bacon coming from our kitchens, ect?
Looks like a good application. Submitted it for approval. Once you do get approved feel free to check out this link which has a lot of helpful FFXIV info so we can hook up in game easier. Am curious which website we caught your eye from? Just getting my kids to bed myself, after some movies and then I'll jump on FFXIV and see if you are on. Welcome to OSD! Doc
Hello I can't remember exactly which of these 2 it was but there is a recruitment post on gamespot and zam. Just checking back though I've noticed they are from 2013. Hope that helps =)
Welcome to the community, maybe one day I'll also join the FFXIV leg of the community (its the only one I never got around to playing), looks like our time frames will meet up if I do, also being GMT, so will look forward to meeting you in game if I do.
