Q: What brought you to our website? If it was another site, please let us know where you heard of us. A: My husband, Kemlore is in the guild, and he wanted me to apply. Q: This recruitment process is a great opportunity to get to know you a little bit. Please tell us a little about yourself personally and add in your past MMO experience. A: I’ve been married to Kem for 4 years. We live with our 2 corgis in San Antonio, TX, and love it (Go Spurs Go!). I teach violin and piano lessons for a living, as well as leading music at our church. Hobbies are gardening, sewing, zumba and party-planning. I have played a few MMOs since I met Kem =) He was kind of my introduction into this world. I started with WoW, and played it through Cata, and then on and off in Pandaland. Also have played Star Wars and Guild Wars. My favorite things to do in MMOs are cooking (really any professions), PvP Battlegrounds, and Instances. I don’t have much experience with larger raids, but I like the idea of it. Q: What time of day do you typically play? How often? A: I’ll typically play evenings and weekends, probably 3 or 4 days a week, for a couple hours at a time. Q: What kind of character do you typically play? Tell us about your main character, and please list any alts that you will be bringing into the guild as well. A: I usually play caster dps or healer. My main is going to be Dellojoio, an Esper healer. I’ll also roll a Spellslinger named Fretless for DPS, but I usually don’t have more than a couple characters. Q: Are you affiliated with any other guilds? A: No. Q: What is it you're looking for in a guild? Why do you want to join OSD? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A: I’d like a guild that can fill up our groups so we always have friendly, non-stupid people to run instances with. I also know a lot of people who have made some really good friends through a guild experience. This will be my first time really meeting people online, as I have tended to only play with people that I know IRL, and pugs. I’d like to see what it’s like to make friends through a game. I hope I can offer a decent healer for groups who need it, and I’ll try to fill the guild bank with food I cooked up =) I’m pretty much willing to do anything as long as it is with/for people who are friendly. Q: We have found that guild members have a better gaming experience if they use the forums and the events calender. This allows you to get game information and join you guildmates in-game as a group. Members should RSVP for scheduled events as their real life schedule permits. Creating events is good for the community and is encouraged whenever possible. What are your thoughts on this? A: Sounds good to me, and I would participate as much as life permits. Knowing things are happening ahead of time would definitely make it easier to try and be there. Q: OSD is generally a "casual, do it all" guild, meaning we welcome players from all playstyles and don't limit our focus to one playstyle in particular. We welcome PvPers, PvEers, Roleplayers, Crafters, etc. For example, while we may offer weekly raids, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires you to raid 5 or 6 nights a week. We also do not consider any one playstyle to be more important than another, all members of OSD are equal. For example, a hardcore PvPer will never be considered "more valuable" to the guild than a casual Roleplayer would be. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: That actually sounds great, and I think that is one thing we were looking for in a guild. Q: With the previous question in mind...we will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role, or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: I’d love to try new things, and I am absolutely open to doing that with friends. Nothing is exciting as a call to arms. Q: If you violate any rules defined within the gaming EULA, or the OSD Code of Conduct you will face disciplinary action up to and including removal from this community. Do you understand and agree with this rule? A: yes Q: Is bacon awesome? Why? A: Bacon is awesome, but I have recently discovered that bacon-flavored popcorn is not so awesome.
Oh ye of little faith. Never doubt the cupcake master. All permissions approved We won't hold anything against you for your family ties And the spill: We have a huge amount of info in our new member thread that we'd like to have all our new members check out, specifically for our WildStar division. Also, we require all new members to complete loyalty quests. These are really just fun things to do with the guild and it proves to us that you want to spend time with everyone (and other members will want to spend time with you). Most of these things you'll be doing regardless, so it's not something out of the ordinary, but they are exclusive to the guild. The loyalty quests are mandatory if you want to be promoted from Cupcake to Dragon. For full details on this check out our loyalty quests page. As far as an in-game invite, look up Xanz, Balerathon, Greenmonk, Bubbajay, or Bellix. One last thing that we ask is that when you’re in the in-game guild, that you post your forum name (if it’s different from your character name) in the roster notes.
Welcome to OSD... where you'll find lots of real people and some of them will be there to help you die... over and over again... It's so much fun!
Despite your intent -- I'll take that as a compliment ... She's had plenty of practice grouping with me... *rubs his forehead*
