Q: What brought you to our website? If it was another site, please let us know where you heard of us.

    A:
I had a friend tell me about you (Skieth). He told me that you were a cross guild with different games under your belt and if I wanted to be a part of a guild I should definitely join this one.

Q: This recruitment process is a great opportunity to get to know you a little bit. Please tell us a little about yourself personally and add in your past MMO experience.

    A:
I am a Graduate College student getting my Masters in Divinity to be a hospital chaplain. I am married with a wife who is definitely not interested in gaming but has her own hobbies. I used to play WoW for about 6 years until I became a Sophomore in College and couldn't afford 15$ a month until Wildstar was placed in front of me and I could use in-game currency to buy time.

Q: What time of day do you typically play? How often?

    A:
I have sporadic hours. Usually in the afternoon and nights if need be. I tend to be a night owl and if I can't sleep I usually play Wildstar

Q: What kind of character do you typically play? Tell us about your main character, and please list any alts that you will be bringing into the guild as well.

    A:
I usually play any kind really. What I last played in WoW carried over to Wildstar. I am a Medic (Barrot) and enjoy not having to tank bosses or providing massive amounts of DPS. I could if needed, but since I am fairly new to this game I am going to stick with one class for now.

Q: Are you affiliated with any other guilds?

    A:
    I am not.

Q: What is it you're looking for in a guild? Why do you want to join OSD? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you?

    A:
I am looking for community. A group of people that I can get on Vent with and know that I will always have some help. Also I wanted to be someone who helps new people as well. I missed the days of raiding and having a good time on vent. So this is the best way to start that again

Q: We require all new members to complete loyalty quests. These are really just fun things to do with the guild and it proves to us that you want to spend time with everyone (and other members will want to spend time with you). Most of these things you'll be doing regardless, so it's not something out of the ordinary, but they are exclusive to the guild. The loyalty quests are mandatory if you want to be promoted from Cupcake to Dragon. For full details on this check out ourloyalty quests page. What do you think about this process?

    A:
That seems like a really good idea and gives a type of ownership if you want to rank within the guild.

Q: We have found that guild members have a better gaming experience if they use the forums and the events calendar. This allows you to get game information and join you guildmates in-game as a group. Members should RSVP for scheduled events as their real life schedule permits. Creating events is good for the community and is encouraged whenever possible. What are your thoughts on this?

    A:
I think this is an excellent idea. I know that it can be frustrating for people to say they are coming to a raid/quest, but never show. This calendar gives a sense of responsibility and ahead planning

Q: OSD is generally a "casual, do it all" guild, meaning we welcome players from all playstyles and don't limit our focus to one playstyle in particular. We welcome PvPers, PvEers, Roleplayers, Crafters, etc. For example, while we may offer weekly raids, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires you to raid 5 or 6 nights a week. We also do not consider any one playstyle to be more important than another, all members of OSD are equal. For example, a hardcore PvPer will never be considered "more valuable" to the guild than a casual Roleplayer would be. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic?

    A:
I am very uch okay with this. I like the idea of not having one playing style, it takes the pressure off of newer people

Q: With the previous question in mind...we will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role, or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and ven the playing field a little. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic?

    A:
I am ok with this. I think that it shows a sense of duty and feel like you are needed. It goes to show the openness of this guild

Q: If you violate any rules defined within the gaming EULA, or the OSD Code of Conduct you will face disciplinary action up to and including removal from this community. Do you understand and agree with this rule?

    A:
    Yes

    Q: Is bacon awesome? Why?

    A:
    Yes it is.
I can right a sermon on bacon. There are many ways to cook it...brine it, smoke it, keep it as a whole slab of pork-belly...it doesnt matter...the different textures that come from the way you cook it gives it versatility. I can make it chewy or crispy and there are people who prefer both but bacon should be around forever.

Great app Barrot! Welcome to OSD! What an interesting career path you are pursuing. The best of luck in your studies! You will definitely find what you are looking for with community here at OSD! We have built the guild around the social aspects of the game and providing a base so that all our members can enjoy the game how they want to.

I've approved your permission groups so feel free to dig into the forums.

We have a huge amount of info in our new member thread that we like to have all our new members check out, specifically for our Wildstar division.

As stated in the questionnaire, the loyalty quests are mandatory if you want to be promoted from Cupcake to Dragon. All the details are on the loyalty quests page.

As far as an in-game invite, look up Xanz, Balerathon, Greenmonk, Bubbajay, Bellix or Izzy.

If you're looking for something fun to do in Nexus, then check out the Wildstar calendar for weekly events (it's the "Calendar" drop down menu just below the OSD logo).

One last thing that we ask is that when you’re in the in-game guild, that you post your forum name (if it’s different from your character name) in the roster notes.
