    Wildstar Questionnaire for Kemlore/Kestus/Spekkio

Q: What brought you to our website? If it was another site, please let us know where you heard of us.

A: I found a post by Balerathon in the Evindra section of the Wildstar official forums.

Q: This recruitment process is a great opportunity to get to know you a little bit. Please tell us a little about yourself personally and add in your past MMO experience.

A: To quote Young Neil from Scott Pilgrim "Thats kind of a big question..."

I grew up in a small town where outside of school there was really not much of anything to do. I sunk my time into sports and PC games. Now i'm 26, got my BS in CS, married, and employed.

I started playing MMOs shortly after beating The Legend of Zelda.
My first taste of an MMO was with Nexus TK Kingdom of Winds where I spent most of my time hopping between trial accounts collecting acorns to sell to a vendor so I could buy some awesome cape that no trial account should really be wearing. Come to find out (after buying my cape) that the item I wanted was actually missing the label that denoted what was reserved for registered members only. :disgusted: It was brutal.

I moved over to Everquest a bit before PoK came out, but SOE cranked out expansions faster than I could level. After seeing my max level status slip between my young fingers for the 3rd time. I quit.

Eventually I hopped over to WoW. I joined some time after launch but before BC was released. Thankfully I was early enough on to enjoy a few 40m Molten Core runs. IMHO WoW was at its best in the days of Karazhan. Its been downhill since then. When they took away my beloved talent tree system I had had enough.

I followed the lead up to the GW2 launch and was wicked excited. I Ended up playing GW2 just long enough to let it break my heart. As it turns out that MMOs need the 'holy trinity' for groups to really feel cohesive.

I've been in limbo ever since, consuming every scrap, crumb and morsel of Wildstar news I could get my hands on.

As much as I'd love to jump back into serious raiding, I am in a different place in life than when I was in school (which conveniently leads me into the next question :whistling:).

Q: What time of day do you typically play? How often?

A: Living out in Texas, I am on Central time (2 hours ahead of Carbine time). Most of my gaming will happen from 6 or 7 - 11 or so. My play time can easily be adjusted to accommodate a raid or something.

Q: What kind of character do you typically play? Tell us about your main character, and please list any alts that you will be bringing into the guild as well.

A: I'm a caster at heart. I like to see big numbers when I push a button, and get pretty bored if I just watch my character's auto attack do most of the work.
The current plan is to play a stalker with my wife, and level a spellslinger on my own when she is unavailable.
I am drawn to unique character builds. I never had any money in WoW because I was constantly respecing my mage to try some new hairbrain scheme, but then having to switch back for the raid. I am really rather proud of some of those builds... too bad Blizzard killed my talent trees

Q: Are you affiliated with any other guilds?

    A: Negativo.

Q: What is it you're looking for in a guild? Why do you want to join OSD? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you?

A: I am looking for a pool of nice people to play with. Every game is better when you have nice people to talk to about it, and MMOs only reach their full potential when you have a quality crew to experience the game with.
I'm honestly a little intimidated by the size of ODS, but if Balerathon is any indication of the quality of the rest of this guild -- The more the merrier.
How can I help? However is needed. I have a number of RL skills that may prove useful (being a CS major) and am usually more than happy to help a guildie in need. I could make you guys a list... but I'll spare you all my overstated resume of awesomeness :ninja:.
How can you help me? Be the guild i'm looking for. I play games to relax, and enjoy my time. I don't need the best raid or gear or a high pvp score. I shoot for just good enough to get the job done. Heck, I've had more fun getting my tail handed to me in a raid of my friends, than clearing a boss with a group of jerks.

Q: We have found that guild members have a better gaming experience if they use the forums and the events calender. This allows you to get game information and join you guildmates in-game as a group. Members should RSVP for scheduled events as their real life schedule permits. Creating events is good for the community and is encouraged whenever possible. What are your thoughts on this?

A: Not my first time down this road. When people use it, its awesome. When its expected and people still don't use it -- thats when problems happen. I'm more than happy to use the infrastructure already in place.

Q: OSD is generally a "casual, do it all" guild, meaning we welcome players from all playstyles and don't limit our focus to one playstyle in particular. We welcome PvPers, PvEers, Roleplayers, Crafters, etc. For example, while we may offer weekly raids, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires you to raid 5 or 6 nights a week. We also do not consider any one playstyle to be more important than another, all members of OSD are equal. For example, a hardcore PvPer will never be considered "more valuable" to the guild than a casual Roleplayer would be. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic?

A: Sounds like you've been reading my list of things a guild should be.
I'm generally more than happy to help someone key or gear up.

Q: With the previous question in mind...we will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role, or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and ven the playing field a little. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic?

A: I'd be honored to be asked, but I may not be availible. If I have other obligations to attend to, it is out of my hands.

Q: If you violate any rules defined within the gaming EULA, or the OSD Code of Conduct you will face disciplinary action up to and including removal from this community. Do you understand and agree with this rule?

A: Will we be notified if the OSD CoC changes? (Yes I agree :D)

    Q: Is bacon awesome? Why?

A: Yes. Everything is better with bacon.

Welcome to OSD... where you should never be intimidated by our size... because it's mostly due to the almighty bacon.

Someone with extra clearance will be along to whack you with the big bacon stick...

    Welcome to OSD Kemlore!

Also, just wondering, if your wife was planning to join us? (Unless she already has?!? HA!) It doesn't matter how casual she'd play, we encourage the whole family unit! ;)

I have a number of friends and family who will join me if all goes well. I'm just doing the dirty work of finding a suitable guild for us all. Here's hoping my search is over :p
