Well, after searching around for a bit, I have seemed to stumble into this odd place full of interesting people. Must be in the Order of the Silver Dragons. Might as well introduce myself. I am an 18 year old video game junkie who is finally out of school. Yea for me. In honor of my new summer, I have purchased AOC and am so far having a blast. I stumbled across the guild site on the AOC forums, consciously looking for a guild to join on my server, and this guild seemed to be the most friendly, laid back guild I could find, which is a good thing of course. Because school is out, I intend to be very active over the summer, with a couple weeks where I will be gone on vacation. I love a guild that does its own events, because it shows that it can make its own fun without too much help from the game. In other words, I have no problem going to guild events, or even thinking of some on my own. As far as other MMOs go, I have played quite a few. I have done WoW, Lotro, SWG, and Oberin, the last being a small-time MMO you may never have heard about, it is mac only. Anyways, no I am not new to MMOs, just to AOC. Obviously I have no problems with this website's content, and have no problems signing up on the roster. I will mostly play the ranger, as I do enjoy PvP, and having a class good with the bow. My main character, Anorius, is a ranger who was a slave and fell off the boat... sounds familiar... Well anyways, he is always the quite one, and always the last to engage, but the last to finish as well. I am also aware of the rules of this community, and aware that I will be removed if I break them, but I really don't plan to. I will be able to play 4-5 times a weak, for 3-4 hours during those days. Lots of time and fun for me during the summer, lest I go out to the movies with friends and such. I am not with any other guild atm, and really don't plan to be. I believe I can best help this community by being an extra hand, another person to talk to, and another friendly guildmate with no problems with sharing the meal. I like helping more new people (the second I myself am not new) and helping out anyone else as well. Well that is me and AOC in a nutshell. Sorry if my application is a little disjointed, was trying to answer all the questions. Anyways, I hope to get to know you all a lot better and look foward to possibly meeting you all in-game. Au Revoir Edit: Playing on the Cimmera Server
Well, someone who answered all the questions theyre one personal way ... havent seen that before, kuddos from me and shows a higher lvl of attention and enthusiasm. The only answer I didnt catch was what server ye be on, dargoth or cimmeria? Anyhow, like the the way you answered and would like to catch ya ingame to get to you know you and yer character better. Im not an officer btw just a curious drunkin barbarian scum!
Reaching out and meeting candidates in-game... ahhh music to my ears. Let me know how things go. I toow as impressed by the time taken to create this application. My question, have you been a part of a guild like ours with a plan to outlive the game itself? Why didn't that work out for you? What would you suggest for us?
I was in a guild called Speak Friend and Enter on the Vilya server. I still keep contact with them, but don't play the game often anymore. The problem stemmed from many sources as to why I left. First was the server. It was low population, and new recruits to the kinship were few and not often. Another was that many of our people were already leaving. We had already lost two of the guild founders, one of which was the person who had recruited me. After this happened, the guild wasn't as fun as he was a good friend to me while I was there. Also the fact that game just wasn't much fun anymore. The updates were weak, probably because they were focusing too much on the upcoming expansion. I may go back to check it out, but for now I am giving lotro a nice long break. But since so many people were already leaving, it was hard to find kin mates even on the game, so mostly I would just end up playing by myself, which is kinda boring in an MMO. So I am on AOC now, having a blast, and really am going to enjoy meeting you all.
indeed welcome - awsome intro post man! I'm not ingame as of now(to poor to buy aoc) - but you sound like a nice fit in this racked bunch of ppl we are here in OSD - welcome to the site and hopefully when you group up with some of the aoc dudes you'll get into the guild first round is on nykon btw
Yep, your assertion is correct...Welcome to the Stronghold... See ya in game, Wait, err no....If you see me in game means your dead
Welcome to the Stronghold. I am War. My job you ask? To create chaos and annoyance with witty remarks and obnoxious sounds while playing. If you ask the others, I do it pretty well. My secondary job, as other will tell you, is the guild scapegoat when things go wrong. All in all, welcome to our home, and hopefully, yours as well.
*peers at you* Ranger eh? Well as long as I don't find a feathered shaft sticking in the back of my armor your alright with me! *claps you on the shoulder with a plate armored hand* Having an energetic youngster here with these old cogs will be interesting to be sure! Show them some new tricks and what what! Especially that war fellow there. *points to the robed figure fondling his undead minions* I don't know where they drug him up but I stopped asking questions about Stygia long ago.
Thanks for the reply... I have one last thing to ask. I've pointed this out to other recruits. I'm frantically trying to get our existing members to more actively USE our events calendar... not only for participating in scheduled sessions... but to maybe post events for themselves (help on a tough quest)... Anyway, as new recruits come on board... I want them to hit the ground running with this VERY powerful resource. I want your commitment on something... Will you actively use this resource for creating and joining in on events that match your schedule?? Can I count on you?
I have no problem using the events calender at all, in fact, it makes it much easier for doing those obnoxiously hard quests, and makes it easier to organize them as well. I can't tell you how many times I have been on Lotro looking for help for those kinds of quests, only to have no one answer. (Partly do to being on Vilya, low population server) But anyways, no problem with events calender, and would be happy to use it, to answer your question.
Music to my ears brother... Music to my ears! hehe I'm not in game tonight... At the latest, maybe we can get ya fixed up by tomorrows event. p.s. you need to join the CITIZEN usergroup.... then hang tight for approval
You forum access have been upgraded accordingly... Welcome aboard friend!! Best next step for ya.... add your character to our roster...then get into our Ventrilo Channel... linked from the home page (upper left)... Welcome to the Guild, Anor492! I won't see you in AoC, only on the website. I'm one of the few, right now, maintaining a presence for OSD in DDO.
I would personally like to tip my hat to you. You've single handedly taken the most mundane process and with a breathe of magic, restored life. There is nothing wrong with the copy and pasted app, as those applications are read as well. You made it personal and for that, I commend you. Welcome to the Order and if you need anything, do not hesitate to ask in guild chat or to send me a tell. Apnea
