Q. Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us, and do you currently have characters playing in game? If so what are their names? Which realm? Which platform? A. The only MMO that I am currently playing that has an active OSD community, is DDO. At the moment, my main character name is Skohr Kyrakl, who lives on the Sarlona server. I intend on making more on Arg. Q. This is the getting to know you portion of the questionnaire. Please tell us a little about yourself. (Hobbies?Family? Pets? School? Work? Any super hero or super villain abilities, nefarious schemes we should know about?) A. Every day, as most 7[SUP]th[/SUP] graders do, I come home stressed about homework get it done to the best of my ability, as efficiently as I can, in order to sit down, relax and have a good time with some friends. Q. Why do you want to join OSD? What is it you are looking for in a guild? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A. I have heard countless stories of how the biggest gaming group just dies after their game shuts down. But the mere thought of a group that survives through both good times an bad blows my mind! With the relatively new Discord servers, many are confused as to how the interface works, so I will gladly help out anybody that needs it. The only thing that I ask of this community is that it provides a comfortable and fun environment to be in. Q - What led you to our website and ultimately to filling out this application? (Which friend? Website? In game ad? Psychic magnetism?) A. Both Psychic magnetism and Sook made me aware that something as awesome as OSD actually exists! Q. What is your typical game play schedule like? Please include times and time zones. A. Except some rare occasions, my week schedule is usually full of school and homework. Along with Sook, I am currently living in the pacific time zone. Q. What is the best game you have ever played and why? A. My favorite game interest is Dungeons and Dragons Online. Q.What platforms do you usually game on? If not just a PC, which consoles? A. For the most part I do most of my gaming on a Linux laptop. However, I also squeeze in some time on the Xbox consoles. Q.Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played for? A. I have been playing MMOs for about 2 years now, Eve Online for about a year and a half, and DDO for about 2 months. Over this period of time, that is probably only long to me, I have grown to love this type of game. One major factor of many MMOs is that good communication and cooperation is required in order to succeed. Q.What is your favorite part of an MMO and why? (Leveling, PvP, raiding, community, roleplaying, crafting, achievements, exploration, etc) A. Of all of the MMOs that I’ve played, I have learned that I genuinely enjoy the strategy part of every MMO that I have played. This gives the game a feeling of depth and complexity that are not present in most games. Q.Are there any future MMO's or multiplayer games you're interested in playing? A. At the moment I have been focusing on one MMO which is Dungeons and Dragons Online. I have not been getting into deep research with any other games other than the one that I mentioned. Q.OSD is more than just a guild in a single game. We are a community of gamers that come together through the forums and Teamspeak. Do you plan on being active on the forums and our Discord server? What are your thoughts on using event calendars on the forums to coordinate guild events? A. For the most part I will not be coordinating guild events, but I will absolutely be involved in the forums, Discord, and in events. Q.OSD has earned and prides itself on a reputation of respect, maturity and integrity. Please read the OSD CODE OF CONDUCT.If you violate any of these rules you jeopardize the reputation of our community and will face disciplinary action up to, and including, removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A. Yes, I completely utterly agree with these terms. I have had my share of annoying people in both school, and in games, and I know from experience this can be painful. Q.We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your play style of choice. However, from time to time, you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. What are your thoughts on this topic? A. If I was put in this situation, I would most likely accept. One after all, must perform his OSD duty. Q.Pretend you are raiding with the guild and after the final boss fight an uber fantastic, stupendous, ultra rare, sparkly item drops. Who do you think should receive this item and why? A. I believe that the person who contributed the most during that particular raid should be awarded the item. I feel that this is a fair approach because if somebody that did not contribute got the reward, it could have a bad result on motivation for others to join? Q.Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A. Bacon cannot be matched by any other food than itself. Bacon is the unfathomable force that every man, woman, and child at some point in their lives thinks about!
Welcome to the OSD Community Thumbdrive. Glad to have you with us. Someone from the DDO Chapter will come on and get your forum permissions squared away and if you have not already joined in-game guild get you an invite in guild.
Welcome Thumbdrive! Glad to see ya at the gates! It's been a blast playing with ya and I'm looking forward to many more gaming sessions down the road. I'll check on your permissions applications and see if you have applied for the correct ones. Sometimes those pesky rogues leave traps around the permission buttons.
Thumbdrive, good to see you here. Nice application, well thought out answers, it's good to see your schooling hasn't gone to waste. As it has been ages since I've done the grant permission thing I am not even sure I have the rights to do it still. SO I will default to one of the higher ups in the DDO community to take that ball and run with it. Looking forward to gaming with you more. The runs we've been on have been a blast.
Welcome to the community, Thumbdrive! Very cool to have another 2nd Gen member here! I think you'll find that many of us are here to game with friends at the end of stressful days. Whether you have a teacher or a boss that part of the equation doesn't change. It's nice to unwind with like-minded people. Game on!
Thank you very much for the warm welcome, I look forward to all of the good times ahead of us! Its an honor to be a part of the Order of the Silver Dragons.
