A: At the moment it would be FFXIV. I'm not currently aware of the other games OSD is involved with. Q 2: Do you currently have characters playing in game? If so, What is the name of your in game character and what server are they on? A: I have a few characters on the Diabolos realm, all are named Savii or Saviina. Currently the one I play the most is Saviina Silver (coincidence, I swear!) Q 3: Guilds can serve many roles, and as with most things, expectations matter. In order to get a better feel for whether this is a good fit, we would like to know what you look for in a guild. A: Cohesion more than anything. I like to see active members, people actually communicating instead of sitting in corners playing by themselves, and definitely little to no drama. Sometimes heated differences in opinion happen, it cannot always be avoided, but maturity in dealing with these situations is a must! Q 4: When and How often do you usually play? This is so we know when to look for you in game and get you in the Guild. (Please add your time zone in the answer) A: I'm in CST time, and my hours are pretty erratic. I have a lot of health issues so I spend a LOT of time at home on the computer. On an average day I'm on for several hours, usually early morning or later in the evening. Q 5: Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played them? Please share one of your favorite memories in a MMO you have played. A: Oh boy... I think I've tried quite a few of them. I have been playing WoW for several years now, and I looooooved Rift but the player base just never got very big. I play several games regularly though - WoW, FFXIV, Wurm Unlimited, World of Warships, Warthunder, Diablo III, Eve Online. My favorite memory is when I first joined my boyfriend's guild on WoW. We were strangers at the time, but I ran dungeons regularly with him and a few of his friends. He had been farming a dungeon for awhile and one night we were all on Vent running that same dungeon again. He said something to the effect of "My pants are never going to drop!" and I told him I'd drop his pants anytime. It just slipped out before I could bite my tongue, but I'm glad it did. We've been together for 7+ years now! Q 6: What is the best game you have ever played and why? A: I think above all others I really loved Rift. The game is beautiful, the character roles are many and flexible, and most of the die-hard players before it became free-to-play were mature adults. I still miss those early Rift days. Q 7: Are there any upcoming games you're interested in playing? A: I'm a Sim fan, so looking forward to Civ VI. Question Category - Community OSD is a group of folks that has gamed together for more than ten years, many of us consider this group as extended family. The following questions help us to understand who YOU are as a person, not just a gamer. As we are more than just a gaming community we like to get to know a little about the folks that want to be part of it. Q 8: OSD advertises on various gaming websites, Facebook, Twitter, and in the games that we are playing. The following questions will help us know what formats are working and where we can improve. Who or What brought you to our Gates? A: In all honesty it was a random search of Free Companies in FFXIV by ranking. We wanted to join a fairly large and active FC, but our first attempt flopped. We joined one of the top 3, but their policy was to accept any and all applicants. That was a mistake. The leader was very immature and arguments popped up very frequently in FC chat; needless to say, we didn't stay long. I checked other FCs and took a look at their websites - OSD seemed to have the most active and close-knit community. Q 9: There are many ways to engage and get the full guild experience with OSD. How often do you see yourself using the Forums / Discord rather than in-game to interact with the community? A: Well, I'm not much of a forum poster. I'm actually a pretty shy person. But I just recently discovered Discord and have been having a great time keeping in touch with friends from other games through that so I'm on Discord pretty much every day. Q 10: Please tell us a little about yourself. No need to be too explicit. We don’t need your home address or shoe size. Let us know about your hobbies if you have them. Do you have family? Pets? Work? Do you plan to conquer the world by using Lucky Rabbit’s feet or some other crazy idea? (This is probably one of the biggest questions on this application as it lets you tell us about you.) A: Well, I'm in my 30's, on disability, used to be an LPN (still licensed but not working right now). I have a boyfriend who is also applying to OSD, he's definitely my better half. I have a boy who's turning 10 in a few days - he's an amazing kid. I have an American Bulldog who's the biggest butthead on the planet. I love to read, and own hundreds of books. I'm a Netflix binger, a gaming addict, and a foodie. Thankfully my boyfriend likes to cook, lol! I like to learn, so I take continuing education credits for nursing a lot, and I take free classes on Coursera and Khan Academy. I have a morbid sense of humor, hate talking about politics, and have been accused of being a redneck more times than I can count. Born and raised in Minnesota and loved the outdoors before I got really sick. So conquering the world using rabbit's feet is out - it turns out I'm allergic Now resorting to plan B - breeding Rottweilers with Chihuahuas to create a master breed of land shark! ....Don't tell Pinkie. We've usually been in the top 10 most active FC's on the Server, and just checking the standings we are currently ranked #4! We did have a time of low activity time with many of us playing FFXV during the down time in the game cycle. I believe its important that everyone has a mechanism to avoid burnout, since many of us have been playing since beta/launch. Now, everyone is gearing back up for the last 2 big patches and conclusion of the 3.0 series as we look forward to the expansion this summer. We had close to 30 people on last night. If need be, we can revisit and get more raid teams up and running as well. Currently, we have one active raid team running bi-weekly and we put together groups as needed for stuff.
