Q: What brought you to our website? A: A friend of mine (AussieScum) is in your DDO guild and is planning on playing with you in SW:ToR. Q: This recruitment process requires that we get to know you a little bit. Please tell us a little about yourself. A: I am an older gamer who enjoys many aspects of MMOs. I currently teach computer animation at a university in Florida, but previous lives have involved being a contractor for USDoE in Washington (state) and USDoD in Georgia and Virginia. While I enjoy the pretty sunsets of Florida, I dearly miss the Northwest. I have one cat (pics available upon request , and no hobo husbands at the moment. Q: We have found that guild members have a better gaming experience if they use the forums and the events calendar. This allows you to get game information and join guildies in events as your real life time permits. Do you intend on being active on our website forums and events calendar? A: Yes. Q: Once you learn how, we would like you to create events or RSVP for other scheduled events as your real life schedule permits. What are your thoughts on this? A: I enjoy ingame events and will usually indicate whether I can go or not. I have organized RP events in the past, but have not done so recently. Q: Have you been playing MMO's for a while, or are you just getting started? A: I've been playing MMO's since early 2001, when I picked up Asheron's Call. From there I meandered through Dark Age of Camelot, Asheron's Call 2, Star Wars: Galaxies, Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, and World of Warcraft. Q: We expect all members to submit and update their characters in our website roster. Are you okay with this? After reading the above content, why do you think it might be important? A: I have no problem with updating a roster. I particularly enjoy ones that link to a real person so I know whose alt is whose. I tend to be a alt-aholic, so I know how much it annoys other people trying to keep tabs on me Q: What kind of character do you typically play? Tell us about your main character, and please list any alts that you will be bringing into the guild as well. (Note: We understand that you may not have finalized your character plans for SWTOR yet, as the game has not yet launched. Please give us your tentative plans for the time being. No worries if they change by launch.) A: I'm an altoholic, so I've played a fairly large range of character types. From evil kill-everything-that-moves, to naive do-gooders. I currently only have plans for one Republic character, a Miraluka jedi sage named Nahr Randa. I enjoy most aspects of MMO's, so she will be involved in PVE, PVP, and RP. Q: If you violate any rules defined within the gaming EULA, you will face disciplinary action up to and including removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A: Yes. Q: What time of day do you typically play? How often? A: My work schedule changes from month to month. I generally will be online in the early evenings, although sometimes that gets shifted to daytime and/or middle of the night. Q: Are you affiliated with any other guilds? A: I have a Sith character planned to be in a small RP guild with some online friends. I do not expect it to be my primary character though. Q: How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A: I tend to be a helpful sort, whether by crafting things for free for guildmates, or running "that" dungeon for the billionth time so someone else can get an item they want out of it. I am hoping to find a place where I can participate in the highest levels of PVE and PVP without needing to join up with a bunch of foul-mouthed misogynistic teenagers who think "your mom" jokes are the best form of humor ever invented, or conversely some huge 200+ member spam guild where you never really get to know the other people. Q: Our focus in SWTOR will be fighting for the Republic on an RP-PvP server, or an RP-PvE server if there are no RP-PvP servers available. Does this match up with your SWTOR faction and server plans? A: The fact that you are planning on playing on a RP-PVP server clinched my decision to apply here. I am a huge proponent of RP-PVP. Q: OSD is generally a "casual, do it all" guild, meaning we welcome players from all playstyles and don't limit our focus to one playstyle in particular. We welcome PvPers, PvEers, Roleplayers, Crafters, etc. For example, while we may offer weekly raids, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires you to raid 5 or 6 nights a week. We also do not consider any one playstyle to be more important than another, all members of OSD are equal. For example, a hardcore PvPer will never be considered "more valuable" to the guild than a casual Roleplayer would be. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: This is what I prefer. I'm pretty laid back personality wise, but I also play the game to compete. I want to beat the end-game bosses, be considered a great PVPer, and have some fun writing stories and interacting with other people's characters too. However, in the end this is a game, not a job. I don't need to be the first, or the best at anything. In fact, I know I will never be either because my real life comes first. Q: With the previous question in mind...We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short a particular class, or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank specced Jedi Knight, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: Absolutely. I like being needed. Unless you are asking me to go do something for a few hours and I know I have a early start in the morning, in which case, I don't want to be guilted into doing something that will cause me to get less than 6 or 7 hours of sleep. I use to be able to stay up all night and go to work the next day on cigarette fumes and energy drinks. I just can't do that anymore. Q: Is bacon awesome? Why? A: BLT sandwich. 'nough said.

Wonderful, I'm looking forward to meeting people from this guild. From my friend's description, sounds like it's perfect for what I was looking for. I saw Griff heading out into the woods to hunt moose with his bacon assault rifle...good way to practice his role-reversal skills if the moose is hungry. :biggrin: Bryce was working on his computer...so, trying to decide 'tween the 20- and 30lb. sledge. I think a majority are so ready to jump into TOR it'll make out pixels hurt.
