Question Category - The GAMES I Like! Q 1: Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us? A: DDO. Q 2: Do you currently have characters playing in game? If so, What is the name of your in game character and what server are they on? A: Yes, I have one main character. Saos Darkmagic, and he's currently on Argonnesson. Q 3: Guilds can serve many roles, and as with most things, expectations matter. In order to get a better feel for whether this is a good fit, we would like to know what you look for in a guild. A: I plan on reincarnating my main a few times, and I'd like a group of people to semi-consistently play with. I'm also willing to take advice on what to do. Q 4: When and How often do you usually play? This is so we know when to look for you in game and get you in the Guild. (Please add your time zone in the answer) A: 10ish to 2AMish EST during the week. The weekends are weird. Depends on when my SO goes to bed. I assume you know how that goes. Q 5: Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played them? Please share one of your favorite memories in a MMO you have played. A: Let's see. WoW, DDO off and on throughout the years (never got too high level, long story. My friends who liked it couldn't pull my other friends off of WoW. I really like small group quests. In Vanilla WoW, one of my favorite memories was going on the really long quest chain that got what they called "Dungeon Set 2". I was actually the first on the server to get a full set. But it was less because I was SUPER ELITE OMG, and more because I was one of the only people going for it and my friends were good enough to get through the content. Everyone else was raiding every night. Q 6: What is the best game you have ever played and why? A: Sheesh, there's a lot that I really like. I love JRPGs, some of my favorites are Final Fantasy IV and Dragon Quest V. The latter I really like because it is really representative of someone's personal journey through life. The main character starts as a child, grows up, and has kids of his own. The main character isn't the Legendary Hero, his son is. As you grow up, the game actually gets more and more non-linear. Q 7: Are there any upcoming games you're interested in playing? A: This is kind of a trick question! "What upcoming games are we going to lose you to?!" Honestly, none really. Except some RPGs on the 3DS, but those are single player. Who or What brought you to our Gates? A: Your forum post on the Argonnessen guild recruiting forum. Q 9: There are many ways to engage and get the full guild experience with OSD. How often do you see yourself using the Forums / Discord rather than in-game to interact with the community? A: Depends on how involved I become with the guild, but moderately often if I do. Most of my communication would be in-game. Q 10: Please tell us a little about yourself. No need to be too explicit. We don’t need your home address or shoe size. Let us know about your hobbies if you have them. Do you have family? Pets? Work? Do you plan to conquer the world by using Lucky Rabbit’s feet or some other crazy idea? (This is probably one of the biggest questions on this application as it lets you tell us about you.) A: I have a girlfriend, we don't have kids, but we're on the brink of being engaged. I work from home, remotely, as a software developer. I take my work time seriously and the time I spend with my SO seriously, so gaming comes after both of those. I also LARP. Sort of. I play Amtgard, which is more of a competitive foam fighting game than a LARP. I'm highly involved and it lets me travel a lot of weekends. I'm pretty easygoing, but I also try to be good at video games and am all-in to what I do. If I make a mistake, I learn from it. I keep kind of a Jedi mindset, where I try to win, but don't care if I lose. I have the opposite of a temper, and it's really difficult to make me mad. What turned me onto your guild was that it was full of mature adults who still play this game for fun. Q 11: Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A: Bacon is quite awesome, but I actually prefer brisket as my staple delicious meat that tastes wonderful on everything. Brisket is king, and if I had a house with a yard I'd eat it all the time because I'd have a smoker.
Well met, Saos! welcome to the gates! its good to see you made it to us and took the time to fill out the app. we really do appreciate it and recognize the time it takes to do it. right now ingame we have a static monday eve group running... were at about lvl 19. and weve got quite a few whove rolled/tr'd dragonborn some of them are in high teens and low twenties. and of course theres a handful of others through out including a slew of lvl 30's. i prefer bacon to brisket most of the time. that said, ive recently discovered that brisket *can* be quite good if done right. apparently for many many years ive been eating substandard fare. course, now that i know, i have to be picky lol please make yourself comfortable and browse the forums you have access to while some other guildies chime in to this thread.

Thanks guys! I'm usually on around 11 to 2 EST, but sometimes I can be on earlier. I can probably meet a once a week scheduled time. I'm currently doing the menechtarun quest line so I can free up the raid. I'd love to farm that Torc!
Hi Saos, Welcome to the gates. I know a few folks who do Amtguard and others that do Dagorhir. Fun hobby! I do SCA myself since I seem to like bruises for some reason.
