    Q. Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us, and do you currently have characters playing in game? If so what are their names? Which realm? Which platform?

    A. I'm currently interested in playing FF14 on the Diabolos server with you. That being said, I have a large number of games on Steam and 4-ish friends on there, so I'm willing to expand.

My character's name is Rhadamanth Nemes, and she is my only character. She is on Diabolos, and I play on my PC (with mouse and keyboard).

    Q.
This is the getting to know you portion of the questionnaire. Please tell us a little about yourself. (Hobbies?Family? Pets? School? Work? Any super hero or super villain abilities, nefarious schemes we should know about?)

    A. I'm a 31 year old male gamer. I live with 3 cats and a girlfriend (referred to collectively as "the girls" as they are all female). I work in the government sector with a weird schedule, so I can be on at odd times, like midday on a Tuesday.

I've played a large portion of the Final Fantasy games, from the time when I got my first NES with FF1. I haven't stopped gaming since. Currently playing FF6 through on an emulator on my phone.

I also like to read science fiction books, and at the moment am rereading the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov.

I love Cutthroat Kitchen and Adventure Time, and spent part of my day today making a 5e DND character based off Rainbow Dash from MLP.

    Q. Why do you want to join OSD? What is it you are looking for in a guild? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you?

    A. I namely wanted to join due to FF14 and needing a good FC to join. However, as I was reading through some of the intro stuff, I really think that I'm looking for a broader gaming group in general. Many of my gamer friends have stopped playing as much, and I think it would be nice to have a group of like-minded people to be associated with.

As for my part, I'm not a super hardcore raider anymore, but I've tanked a lot of high-end content before and I'm always down for a new challenge. I'm working on getting myself to a good place as a Paladin in this game, which looks like a lot of fun.

Q - What led you to our website and ultimately to filling out this application? (Which friend? Website? In game ad? Psychic magnetism?)

    A. I choose D, psychic magnetism. To be honest, I saw your blurb about "casual mature, social, progression" on the Diabolos section of the official forums, and as I read more I decided that you guys seem pretty cool and welcoming. The hoops you have to jump through to join look like a good way to filter out less mature gamers, which I appreciate wholeheartedly.

    Q. What is your typical game play schedule like? Please include times and time zones.

    A. I will usually play for a few hours during the day on days that I have off. Later in the evenings, if I don't work in the morning, I will play from ~10-2am or so. On nights that I have work the next morning, I will sometimes jump on for a bit, but I have to be up pretty early so I'm not usually on for that long.

    Q. What is the best game you have ever played and why?

    A. This is a tough one. I'll have to answer with a few, unfortunately.

For JRPG's, probably Chrono Trigger for its replayability and general awesomeness. I've probably beaten it over 20 times.

Fallout: New Vegas. Friend me on Steam to see how long I put into this game. Something about just wandering around kicking ass is so awesome. Then I turn around, mod the crap out of it, and play it again. And you can't even see how long I put into it on my Xbox 360, either.

Dark Souls. You shouldn't even have to ask why. I played it through numerous times with different builds. One thing I like about FF14 is that it concentrates my alt-itis into one neat package.

    Q. What platforms do you usually game on? If not just a PC, which consoles?

    A. I usually play on PC, but I very occasionally play on my Xbox 360. I also have a 3ds that I play Pokemon and Hyrule Warriors Legends on.

    Q. Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played for?

    A. When I was younger, my brother and I put several hundred hours into Everquest 2, playing together. After that, I began getting into WoW during Burning Crusade, began raiding in BC, WoTLK, (stopped for a while, then) Cata. WoW raiding was a little life-consuming so I stopped with that (we were playing for 5-6 hours a night, every night). More recently I played Guild Wars 2 with a friend for a while, which was OK but not really my cup of tea. After a year or so break, that friend and I began playing FF14, and my hope is to get my GF into playing it with me.

    Q. What is your favorite part of an MMO and why? (Leveling, PvP, raiding, community, roleplaying, crafting, achievements, exploration, etc)

    A. If I'm being honest, it is probably Raiding. I like many of the other parts (crafting, fishing, exploring, leveling, the story, etc) but nothing beats the rush of tanking a massive raid boss and doing so flawlessly.

    Q. Are there any future MMO's or multiplayer games you're interested in playing?

    A. At the moment, no. I'd probably run another modded Minecraft server eventually, though. A friend and I played that for several months and it was pretty awesome.

    Q. OSD is more than just a guild in a single game. We are a community of gamers that come together through the forums and Teamspeak. Do you plan on being active on the forums and use TS? What are your thoughts on using event calendars on the forums to coordinate guild events?

    A. Yes. I like talking to like-minded people both in chat and on forums. I think the calendar idea is slick and very very smart. I'm wondering if I can sync it up to my Google calendar, once I'm eligible for the events.

    Q. OSD has earned and prides itself on a reputation of respect, maturity and integrity. Please read the OSD CODE OF CONDUCT. If you violate any of these rules you jeopardize the reputation of our community and will face disciplinary action up to, and including, removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule?

    A. I understand, and furthermore I think it's great that people have to read and agree to this. The general population of some games can be toxic and stressful (not that I've experienced that in FF14, yet) which is the opposite of what I want when I'm trying to relax and play a game.

    Q. We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time, you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. What are your thoughts on this topic?

    A. As long as I have the IRL time to do it, I love tanking. Even lowbie stuff, after I'm through it. As for PVP, however, I'm not usually that good at it in MMO's and tend to avoid it, although it's too soon for me to write it off completely.

    Q. Pretend you are raiding with the guild and after the final boss fight an uber fantastic, stupendous, ultra rare, sparkly item drops. Who do you think should receive this item and why?

    A. I'd usually suggest a straight-up /roll unless it's something with a mechanical benefit. Let me explain:

Case #1) I'm tanking and a super duper rare tank item drops. The MT for the guild is playing DPS in the group. He should get the item, because he will probably get way more out of it than I would, even though I'm technically tanking for the raid.

Case #2) I'm tanking and a super duper rare mount item drops. I'd suggest a straight up /roll off for it, though I would definitely understand the Guild Leader or Officers wanting to distribute it directly to someone for good behavior. Either works for me.

    Q. Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams?

    A. Yes. The form bacon takes in my dreams is a slow roasted piece of pork belly, served with a slightly sweet, slightly hot sauce with a side of slightly charred greens. This stuff is so good that you only take slivers off and let them melt in your mouth until they disappear because you want to savor it for as long as possible.

Great Application! In fact one of the most detailed ones I've read in the last year, +1! Sorry about the delay in responding, Tuesday and Wednesdays are my absolute worst days to get online due to getting home so late - and no its not because I'm out late playing Pokemon Go with my boys...lol. (They usually have sports on those nights to be honest, then we do Pokemon Go...lol) I just approved permissions so you should now have full forum access. Check out the New Recruits Read this in the FFXIV section for some quick questions and answers. Do the in game application to get in the FC the quickest if you are not in already. Moogle House in the NE area in Mists ward 1, plot 12 or 15. There should be some OSD ppl outside that can help if with getting in.

    Welcome to OSD!
