Star Wars: The old republic. If I were answering this in person this is where I'd start humming the star wars theme song but it doesn't translate well into text. I have a fair few characters set up on both Ebon Hawk and The Harbringer. Lately I've been actively playing Murrai on Harbringer, Pub side. I also have Eir'ik, Hamillton, and Weapon Master. But those are alts to get the class bonuses and such. Q. This is the getting to know you portion of the questionnaire. Please tell us a little about yourself. (Hobbies?Family? Pets? School? Work? Any super hero or super villain abilities, nefarious schemes we should know about?) Myhobbies include gaming and writing and that's about it. Family we don't talk about because I've been trying to watch my blood pressure. Oh speaking of which, I've been chronically sick and borderline bed ridden for the past 3 years so that's fun on a bun. Chronically ill and chronically chill. Q. Why do you want to join OSD? What is it you are looking for in a guild? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? I've been looking for a guild on Harbringer to do PVE with, I can solo flashpoints but I've yet to figure out a way to solo ops. The company would be nice while I'm soloing stuff too I must admit. Guild chat can be a wonderful thing. As for me? I dunno, warm body and a bucket of laughs? Seriously I'm more useful to parties then parties...that..didn't come out right. I meant I'm better at a party then in a party. Q - What led you to our website and ultimately to filling out this application? (Which friend? Website? In game ad? Psychic magnetism?) You aren't far off the mark with the psychic magnetism there, Odd Thomas. Your guild name on SWTOR is Operatives of the silver dawn, and I study occultism. The Golden Dawn is a thing in occultism, old group of academic types who supposedly knew a lot of legit shit from unknown sources. A lot of modern occultism are offshoots from their work. Whether or not this was an intentional reference I don't know. But it caught my interest and I made with the google. I'm also keen on dragons just in general, I wish it was less superficial then that but here we are. Also your new member process is sophisticated enough that I'm confident you are more...mature then the average mmoer shall we say. Q. What is your typical game play schedule like? Please include times and time zones. Time is an illusion, lunch time doubly so. But seriously like I mentioned I've been sick for a few years so any semblance of a normal schedule is out the window. I'm trying to rectify that but it's touch and go. Q. What is the best game you have ever played and why? This is kind of sticky territory, cause we're getting into objective vs subjective and ehhh I'm a consumer not a judge of the industry. Then we get into how we're judging something as "best". Seriously, I as a gamer can no more judge the best game ever then I as an actor can judge the best movie. It's all circumstantial. Now if you had asked what my favorite game was, I'd have said "Dishonored." without a paragraph of artistic mumbojumbo before hand. Dishonored is fun. It's compact, so it's not overwhelming but they still give you plenty of room to play in. It's smooths over the inventory management system. It's fun, it's replayable, the soundtrack is great, the voice acting is great, it's fun, and did I mention it's fun? Q. What platforms do you usually game on? If not just a PC, which consoles? PC. I'm not all "master race" about it I just don't have a TV in my room and can't afford a console in addition to maintaining a gaming PC. Q. Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played for? Please don't ask me about time frames. They escape me completely. A doctor once said it was because I had a sequential disorder. Clocks confuse me unless they are digital and I still don't have what order the months come in memorized. Don't even get me started on multiplication tables....right MMOS. City of H/V (RIP), DDO, SWTOR, and probably some other stuff around here and there. Q. What is your favorite part of an MMO and why? (Leveling, PvP, raiding, community, roleplaying, crafting, achievements, exploration, etc) The outfits, and I'm not joking. My big MMOs were CoX and SWTOR so slightly more control over the outfits then usual and I seriously cannot get into a character until I get their outfits sorted out. The rest is just modeling really. I do enjoy an assortment of all of the above though. The sense of achievement in one way or another is what I'm chasing though. Q. Are there any future MMO's or multiplayer games you're interested in playing? I was exited for ESO but then I got to be a beta player and...just no. Since then nothing has really caught my attention. Q. OSD is more than just a guild in a single game. We are a community of gamers that come together through the forums and Teamspeak. Do you plan on being active on the forums and use TS? What are your thoughts on using event calendars on the forums to coordinate guild events? That's my jam yo. I used to be a part of a RP guild and ended up moderator and eventually captain, but it was a small forum based affair. I love forums, and I am open to team speak. I like that you have coordination makes things nice and organized. Q. OSD has earned and prides itself on a reputation of respect, maturity and integrity. Please read the OSD CODE OF CONDUCT. If you violate any of these rules you jeopardize the reputation of our community and will face disciplinary action up to, and including, removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? Sir yes sir. Q. We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time, you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. What are your thoughts on this topic? As long as you got my back I got yours. Q. Pretend you are raiding with the guild and after the final boss fight an uber fantastic, stupendous, ultra rare, sparkly item drops. Who do you think should receive this item and why? SWTOR has a roll system for loot so I'm used to that. Whatever the ettiquette of the game is I'm down. Q. Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? Bacon is overrated and this meme is like 7 years old. Personally I prefer steak.
