Sorry for being AFK for awhile here... I already have a store set up at CafePress. That is the sight I have been creating our yearly OSD-Con shirts. If we keep the color count down then we can probably have a more robust transfer method. However, the recent fantastic submissions from Kris have been full color which results in a heat transfer method that is less than ideal.
So far so good. I had a cyst removed from my brain that was mashing up some nerves including the nerve which controls balance on the right side. Still having symptoms but the doctor told me it could be 3-5 weeks before I knew weather or not the surgery fixed my issues (vertigo, headaches, sensitivity to light, dark, sounds, movement, etc). I saw in a post something about links like the Audi logo to represent the multiple divisions with in OSD ... I was thinking this could be incorporated with a chain inside the circles. Anyone care for the concept I'm suggesting? I still got to work on that link. Just so many post to catch up with.
I think the problem with the links idea is that the number of divisions we have is highly fluid. So formalizing it is almost certain to misrepresent us sooner or later. I'd be cool with something that represents the various genres that we're interested in or something (MMO, Simulators, Etc.) meh.
I thought that too ... it won't be an accurate representation cause some divisions might disappear and others pop up ... but it could also represent the bond formed between the members of OSD, who really knows unless we tell them. I was thinking we can change the outer shape to give it a different feel for division specific needs. We can add chevrons for a military feel and make it look like an arm patch. For a space-sim we can have space craft(s) orbiting around it or rings like around a planet, etc. I know a dragon head isn't necessarily the sexiest design, but I like the circle (representing the community) with and outer shape concept so that it's the same "logo" but with additions when divisions want to change it up. It would be adding to a community design that almost anyone would be able to do. Though again there only seems to be a handful of people actually discussing it which seems to make the conversation moot.
The goal of this thread was to find a logo that fits all, that defines OSD as a whole. If every division ends up having something different, it degenerates the purpose.
The community logo would be within the circle. I don't think it degenerates to have a plan for the obvious. Divisions will want something to represent themselves better (Case in point, and another, and another) ... the community logo would be the continuity in all the designs.(1, 2, 3, 4) Currently there are a few images that could have been used including these images (1, 2) but these divisions look for something they could use to better represent themselves. I'm sure it's going to happen again or will it be forbidden? This was a plan in place for such an event(s). I've made a suggestion so I'll leave it to the rest of you.
This particular project's goal was for one unified OSD Community logo for a t-shirt. OSD divisions should and do have their own specialized logos in various places, but I think a general OSD Community t-shirt should be the same for everyone. That represents that it doesn't matter what division you play, you're OSD. My 2 cents
I agree with Krizalide and Vastiner. No reason to complicate matters. And just because others aren't responding to the thread doesn't mean it isn't being watched. I can't draw worth a crap so I've not had any design ideas to share.
I pretty much stopped working on this a while ago, and for now I have other things to take care of soooooo.
I can try downloading a drawing app and fingerpainting a dragon on my phone! Also Kriz, I'm curious what other stuff you doooo! You should make an art blog so I can look at all your drawings! =D
I'll think about the blog once I'm back in a normal routine, and you can send all the finger paintings you want
These are some tattoos/designs I think would look good: this one would have main body on the back: Some tribal designs:
I usually don't like tattoos, but those are just plain awesome! I also like the Tribal designs...very cool. 1st Tribal and last tattoo are probably my two favorite designs.
so to represent us, you guys don't want something unique for us? but something anyone can google and use? If yes, I won't bother continuing lol and tribal ages badly.
