I think the dragon on the top with OSD under it. Ditto for the back only larger.

For me, personally (since my drawing skills aren't all that great still), I was leaning away from drawing an actual dragon, and thinking of like, a circle/ring made out of scales (like a snake except it has no head or tail) and a big glowy gem in the middle =D And then over that, the letters OSD in some sort of bold, fancy letters, the same color as the scales. I kinda like the circle motif, but I can't draw a dragon =O

Another option would be to come up with a new logo entirely, that isn't a dragon! Something to represent that we're a unified guild, with our hands in everything. I've never been a fan of family crests/coats of arms, but sort of that idea. Maybe something kind of like the Audi logo (which was originally 4 separate companies, and now that's represented by the 4 interlocking rings). As for how to do that... I dunno! :3

I can try sketching some stuff once we have more ideas! They'll probably be pretty rough and maybe not that good, but we'll see! But I agree with Kriz, maybe even more so because I'm still an inexperienced artist and even a simple drawing can take many many hours. I don't wanna spend a whole day struggling to figure out how to draw something and then find out nobody even wants it :x

I agree with you idea about a gem, because that is the theme for this game. Like, Firra, I am also a rather inexperienced artist and as such one idea I have is to keep things simple. An example for this is instead of a whole detailed dragon or the ring as suggested maybe a silhouette of a dragon? However, the ring idea might be a good change since many free companies, guilds, kinships, player associations, etc. have had a dragon and it could be a bit of fun to change things up some.

It's been almost 2 weeks now.
Only 2-3 people have posted something here. I've had a talk with the D&D group about it, so it makes about a big total of ...not a lot of opinions considering the size of this guild.

    1. Firra's ring idea is ok, but it would look way too much like the ESO logo in my opinion. So just a scaly ring is not enough...not sure where the gem comes from, if it's Final Fantasy related it won't do. We're looking for something that represent the WHOLE guild, not just 1 division of it.
    2. The old farts D&D people want a dragon in the logo. "English" is what they said...which made me giggles imagining a dragon with a top hat, monocle and a cup of tea...although I understood they meant Western. So no furry Falkor.
    3. The idea of a shield was discussed too. The idea of us being knights of the Order, a shield would be a good idea.

Soooooooo this is what I got so far...B&W sketch, this is by no means the finished/final design. It's not as fancy as what you guys had before obviously, but I'm going with the ideas I've received so far.

I tried as long as I could to stay away from designing the logo, because well...I don't want to put my heart and time into something just to have people end up going "this is not what I wanted, I hate it". But oh well, I have nothing better to do with my days right now so I'll give it a try. All I need is some responses from you guys, do you still want a T-shirt design / logo or you already forgot / don't care about it?

Wow! That looks cool! I do like the shield idea, and that's a pretty unique looking dragon (which is pretty impressive since there's so many dragons!) I like the way the cheekbones area kinda fans out and has those spikes, so the overall silhouette is something original and will be recognizeable, instead of like, if I tried to draw a dragon head and it would look like a goat or a snake.

As for the ring with gem idea, I came up with that before joining FF, and I didn't know FF was about gems again, either, lol. Mostly I just wanted to try drawing a gem, and I like glowy things =D But now that you mention the ESO logo, it would definitely look too much like that, plus a ring by itself isn't very distinctive! After all, I forgot that ESO's logo was a ring! :3

I like the ringed dragon just fine, and appreciate you all taking the time to discuss the design! Certainly some very interesting ideas regarding representing the entire guild and trying to work a shield and dragon into the logo.

Wow Kriz. Great stuff! I really like the idea of the left page. However, my favorite is the lower right one in 3/4 view.

Is there still something in the works for this? I totally would love to get one.

I like the sad dragon ... I think the eye of the dragon is the most important piece ...

I don't think we need a full dragon, or a vicious looking one. I 'm partial to a regal dragon with fierce eye(s). Also for cost you'd probably want to stick to something that is 2-3 colors rather then blended colors.

Here's something i found online as a reference. Sorta Celtic, but with emphasis on the eye. I'll attempt to draw it up but i'm long since my artistic days.

Depends on the quality we are looking for really. Now they can just print whatever drawings you want on shirts. It doesn't last as long though. I printed last year OSDcon shirt on white and it already looks 10 years old, I'm a bit disappointed. But the previous year was on a dark navi and it still looks good. But yea if we want a proper silk screen'd shirt 2-3 colors will be the max. Would also last a lot longer.

Also depends on how many people are interested, if only 5 people are going to get a shirt, silk screen is a waste.

These are more along the lines of my original thought. I was thinking just the circles.

If each division wanted to make it their own they could change the colors in the middle and the eye. We could also add an outer shape where we make a point at the bottom of the circle and add a game icon (such as the skull from the Windstar division).

The outer shape would resemble a shield of sorts, which I think someone had mentioned in a previous post.

Here's my 4th grade version of it.

It's pretty much the same as the first. There is a red one and a green one. The green is a little larger, better lighting, but the same.

or where you referring to the 4th grade version?

I can't see the "4th grade" picture, but I like the one in the link. It looks like it would go really well with the shield idea.

Essentially I draw up a crappy version where I turned the square 45 degrees (so that the points are up and down) and erased all but bottom point. Then drew the Windstar Exiles symbol in what was left of the square.

I'll try to figure out whats up with the link a little later. Recovering from surgery.
