Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us, and do you currently have characters playing in game? If so what are their names? Which realm? Which platform? A. I want to play FFXIV with you guys...I also play ESO-Daggerfall Covenant but need a break from that for a awhile. In FFXIV my Character's name is Ortheri Ruinmeathor, on Diabolos and I play him on PC. Q. This is the getting to know you portion of the questionnaire. Please tell us a little about yourself. (Hobbies?Family? Pets? School? Work? Any super hero or super villain abilities, nefarious schemes we should know about?) A. I don't really know what to say here other than the general stuff like: My hobbies are MMOs, Survial Crafting games and...Nope, thats it. I do try to spend one day a week with RL friends, going out to do whatever but I'd rather be home on the PC. I work for myself and sometimes keep an odd schedule. Like, I may have a whole week where I'll be online all day and the next week I'll pull a 85 work hour week, it's just how it goes. I live by myself with a boston terrier named Samwise and enjoy a nice Bourbon frequently. And, know You guys know as much about me as my own mother...She doesn't know my birthday either. lol No, I turned 31 on may 30th...That's all I can think of. Q. Why do you want to join OSD? What is it you are looking for in a guild? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A. Really, I want the comradery and the sense of accomplishment that you get when you complete something really difficult. And, From my experience, it's the guild that makes the MMO fun not the other way around, and after reading you guys charter I think We'll be a good fit. I think that I can help the community have fun and succeed and all I ask for is a good time in return from the community and sure I will get that in spades. Q - What lead you to our website and ultimately to filling out this application? (Which Friend? Website? In game ad? Psychic Magnetism?) A. Research and the official forums is where I first heard of you. Q. What is your typical game play schedule like? Please include Times and Time zones. A. I'm EST but as mentioned above I have a hectic schedule but in general it's similar to most people's EG evenings through the week and all day saturday (Sunday belongs to RL) Q. What is the best game you have ever played and why? A. That is a hard question to answer. I loved FFXI because I was a FF RPGer from way back and it was my first MMO. Lotro, A WoW clone I know but still I never played WoW and it was my first clicky button type MMO, but the real reason I loved it was for the lore, and in general the did do a good job in that regard. ESO very story heavy, which I like and tries to allow for some custom builds (Key word is "tries") and a action MMO was new to me and I still plan on playing ESO...I just need some space. All and all, I'm not really sure which I would say is the best...they all had things that annoyed me no end and things I love(ed). I know that's not an answer but there it is. Q. What platforms do you usually game on? If not just a PC, which consoles? A. Just PC. Q. Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played for? A. Well, I played FFXI for about 5 years and then Lotro for 4 then hit a dry spell for a 6 month or so till FFXIV:ARR came out and though I had applied to ESOs beta on day one I got tired of waiting and FFXIV launched and looked so fun and made me feel nostalgic that I had to play but, the FC I was in kind of fizzled out and like I said as good as the game may be it's the community you are part of that makes the fun last..Cough, Rambling here. I turned up in ESO at it's launched and have been there full time til now Q. What is your favorite part of a MMO and why? (Leveling, PvP, Raiding, Community, Roleplaying, Crafting, Achievements, Exploration, etc) A. I am a PVE guy as far as content and A tank by nature but the reason I play MMOs if for the thrill of raiding with a good group of friends. Q. Are there any future MMO's or multiplayer games you're interested in playing? A. Not really. Q. OSD is more than just a guild in a single game. We are a community of gamers that come together through the forums and Teamspeak. Do you plan on being active on the forums and use TS? What are your thoughts on using event calendars on the forums to coordinate guild events? A. I think scheduled events and TS/VENT are the life-blood of the community and if you don't use them you are missing out. Q. OSD has earned and prides itself on a reputation of respect, maturity and integrity. Please read the OSD CODE OF CONDUCT. If you violate any of these rules you jeopardize the reputation of our community and will face disciplinary action up to, and including, removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A. Q. We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time, you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. What are your thoughts on this topic? A. Absolutely! Q. Pretend you are raiding with the guild and after the final boss fight an uber fantastic, stupendous, ultra rare, sparkly item drops. Who do you think should receive this item and why? A. Well, the person who would likely best use that item to benefit the entire community IE: Core members who are the first to help those who need help and are staples of the raids, and of those the people, the people whose Main job could use it most...not necessarily the job they're on, They should get first pick, because a good member will often take what's needed not what they want. This way even if you don't get what you need you and others will still benefit from the super shiny drop...but, DKP or a loot ladder works too and feels fair. Q. Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A. Often, I dream of frying tiny, naked, beautiful women on a cast iron skillet, then eating them. I think they represent bacon, after all they are both bad for your heart? And, yes, Bacon it totally awesome!
