Question Category - The GAMES I Like! Q 1: Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us? A: FFXIV – on PC (master race) Q 2: Do you currently have characters playing in game? If so, What is the name of your in game character and what server are they on? A: Callie Marie - Diabolos Q 3: Guilds can serve many roles, and as with most things, expectations matter. In order to get a better feel for whether this is a good fit, we would like to know what you look for in a guild. A: I’m working on MSQ (near end of 3.0 currently) still but I’m looking forward for some end game activities. The current FC is small, with only 4 regulars on some nights. I’m still leveling now, we don’t get the exp buff because of the lack in FC “points”. Q 4: When and How often do you usually play? This is so we know when to look for you in game and get you in the Guild. (Please add your time zone in the answer) A: Normally I log on for a few hours on the weekends. 8PM-10PM PST. Weekends I’m more free, can be on though out the day. Q 5: Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played them? Please share one of your favorite memories in a MMO you have played. A: Played FFXI from US day 1 launch till around 2008. Played WoW for 5 years. Quit recently due to content getting old. Have tried out Tera Online, free month only. Q 6: What is the best game you have ever played and why? A: I would say FFXI but not the camping part. Q 7: Are there any upcoming games you're interested in playing? A: I don’t get hyped on upcoming games, only until its released will I check it out. Question Category - Community OSD is a group of folks that has gamed together for more than ten years, many of us consider this group as extended family. Q 8: OSD advertises on various gaming websites, Facebook, Twitter, and in the games that we are playing. The following questions will help us know what formats are working and where we can improve. Who or What brought you to our Gates? A: Saw post on Lodestone, decided to check it out. Currently the FC I’m in currently have about 4 active members. Q 9: There are many ways to engage and get the full guild experience with OSD. How often do you see yourself using the Forums / Discord rather than in-game to interact with the community? A: Because of work access to the web, I don’t plan to check the forums throughout the day. I’ll will check reddit and other sites if I need help in something. I don’t use Discord. I’ve used Teamspeak before. Q 10: Please tell us a little about yourself. No need to be too explicit. We don’t need your home address or shoe size. Let us know about your hobbies if you have them. Do you have family? Pets? Work? Do you plan to conquer the world by using Lucky Rabbit’s feet or some other crazy idea? (This is probably one of the biggest questions on this application as it lets you tell us about you.) A: I’m currently a single guy. I have a full-time job, Monday – Friday 8-5. Normally I like heading to the gym for an hour before playing FFXIV. I have a 16yr Siamese cat. On the weekends, I’m either playing games, doing chores, or visiting my parents if they need help. I do enjoy playing Overwatch and Starcraft 2. I have my own Minecraft server. I started playing FFXIV back in Sept 2016. I did try it before ARR, but now playing it regularly. My current FC is very small, only 4 people on regularly. I joined originally to help make it grow, but recruiting has been difficult. FC “point” don’t come in regularly and we don’t get the exp buff some nights. Personally, I’m easy to get along with. On Overwatch, I can get ‘salty’ sometime due to players not listening or adapting to the match. In FFXI, did earn a Gjallarhorn for my bard, with LS help. I’ve also helped others get their relics as well. In WoW, just did 10man and leveled 5 characters to 90 before I quit. By then my guild was already gone and content was slow. Q 11: Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A: No, it's greasy and fatty. I’ve seen The Walking Dead, I know what pigs eat. ***If I may, I like to ask some question as well. I’ve seen posting on Lodestone, consistently recruiting. Is there an influx of people joining / leaving the FC? What does this quote mean to you? “We love drama” Clicks? They do happen but do you see this happening often? Is there a “DKP” type system established? How many people (non and active) have been removed from the FC?
Great application lots of details. To answer your questions, we used to be on Teamspeak but have switched over to Discord for the texting and chat functionality earlier this year. We currently have half a dozen members working on FFXV atm, so current in game numbers have been down but everyone is still logging in to get their dailies in. I believe we had a few people break off and play some Civ 6 games as well, while they chatted in Discord. We tend to enjoy playing various games together in the downtimes of the FFXIV. As I'm logging into the game atm, 13 people are online. We really don't have a big exit of members and usually try to maintain a steady stream of new people coming into the FC. It's my recruiting mindset if you have to blame anyone. People seem to play this game in waves, sometimes more and sometimes less. Others play for a few months then take a break until more patches come out then return back to play. Our FC has been strong since the relaunch in 2.0. We easily hit 20-30 with BIG new patches. Many people are bummed that the 4.0 expansion is not until next summer to be quite honest. Some people love the Reality Show Drama stuff, not I. Clicks happen everywhere. People in the FC, are usually pretty good with asking if ppl want to run stuff with them or do WT stuff together for clears. Haven't heard of "DKP" since my Raiding days back in WOW, no not here. When I'm in the mood, I remove long time no active ppl from the FC - I'd rather be doing content so I do it as needed. Usually give members around a year, then I cut them if they are inactive and they just post on the forums if they want back in. Hope that answers your questions sufficiently.
