Acknowledgement: OSD has earned and prides itself on a reputation of respect, maturity and integrity. Please read the OSD CODE OF CONDUCT. If you violate any of these rules you jeopardize the reputation of our community and will face disciplinary action up to, and including, removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? (Yes / No) A: Yes Question Category - The GAMES I Like! Q 1: Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us? A: I am mostly interested in FFXIV although I am up for anything I can play with a controller, more on that latter Q 2: Do you currently have characters playing in game? If so, What is the name of your in game character and what server are they on? A: No I do not have any characters in FFXIV. I am however planning on setting up in Diabolis Q 3: Guilds can serve many roles, and as with most things, expectations matter. In order to get a better feel for whether this is a good fit, we would like to know what you look for in a guild. A: I look for a mature community that does not have trouble organizing and getting things done, but also has the ability to lay back and mess around and have fun in general. Q 4: When and How often do you usually play? This is so we know when to look for you in game and get you in the Guild. (Please add your time zone in the answer) A: GMT-7 Although I am an insomniac and can be on at any time depending on what my body is doing. Like now I am typing this at 5 am in the morning. Q 5: Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played them? Please share one of your favorite memories in a MMO you have played. A: I have played many MMOs in the past. WoW, Runescape, Everspace, Conquer Online. I had to stop a while ago because my right arm is paralyzed although I am getting into FFXIV because of the excellent controller support. Experience wise there is alot I have done raiding and such in WoW, but the major Experience comes from Runescape and Conquer online. In those two games I have held multiple characters +15 gear in Conquer Online and in Runescape I have maintained my Trimmed Completion Cape. One of my favorite Memories was when construction went live in Runescape and Cursed You had his house party. I remember running for my life away from some glitched players during the Faladoor Massacre and turning around and a GM killed them. The good guy GM let me keep there loot which was like 3 Party hats and advised I logged out. Q 6: What is the best game you have ever played and why? A: That is easily Knight of the Old Republic, If you need to ask we can't be friends... Joking aside because it is one of the best stories I have ever played not to mention it was the first game I played on the original Xbox. Q 7: Are there any upcoming games you're interested in playing? A: A few yeah Watch Dogs 2, Mass Effect Andromeda, Next Armored Core Game, Dynasty Warriors 9, RDR2, Star Citizen, A Hat in Time, and a bunch of different mods for games like Nanos JC3MP Question Category - Community OSD is a group of folks that has gamed together for more than ten years, many of us consider this group as extended family. The following questions help us to understand who YOU are as a person, not just a gamer. As we are more than just a gaming community we like to get to know a little about the folks that want to be part of it. Q 8: OSD advertises on various gaming websites, Facebook, Twitter, and in the games that we are playing. The following questions will help us know what formats are working and where we can improve. Who or What brought you to our Gates? A: I was looking for a RAF code and that was getting no where so I searched "Looking for friends to play FFXIV with" which brought me to a post on pretty much dead forum where @Doctorhoo responded to a post from 2014 mentioning this FC. I came on the website saw it was not made with Enjin so I looked into applying Q 9: There are many ways to engage and get the full guild experience with OSD. How often do you see yourself using the Forums / Discord rather than in-game to interact with the community? A: Probably all the time as I can't really type and play at the same time because of my right arm. Q 10: Please tell us a little about yourself. No need to be too explicit. We don’t need your home address or shoe size. Let us know about your hobbies if you have them. Do you have family? Pets? Work? Do you plan to conquer the world by using Lucky Rabbit’s feet or some other crazy idea? (This is probably one of the biggest questions on this application as it lets you tell us about you.) A: So I am micmou, and that is pretty descriptive of me. I am a strongheaded stubborn person that grew up in a very military oriented family. My right arm does not work because of a condition called Conversion Disorder. I have a eidetic memory and Numerical-Visual Synesthesia, trust me it is not as fun or cool as any fiction would have you believe main reason my arm doesn't work TBH. My hobbies include Video Games, Programming, MTG, Competitive Shooting, and Tinkering with things. My ultimate dream would be to develop a way to travel through time. Any plans for world domination you ask... Mwhahaha if I told you I would have to destroy you Q 11: Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A: Bacon is love, Bacon is life. I believe it manifests as the second appendage under the marvelous beard that belongs to Chuck Norris.
Welcome to the OSD Community Micmou! An officer of the FFXIV Chapter will get your application approved and your forum permissions will then be handled by our Admin Team. After you get your forum permissions an officer in FFXIV will get you into the FC. You have joined our community at an exciting time. We are currently in the process of some reorganizing. Check out the latest Community Update recording on the front page of the website. @Doctorhoo, @Flash
Thank you @Tink05051984 I noticed that you guys have been talking about it in multiple places the reorganization that is.
Well welcome to osd, when you get on diabolos send me a message here or post and quote me and I'all help you get in on the game
I need to change that profile quote as it's outdated! I haven't played since shortly after SWtOR went f2p. @Valdar or @Phantom would be the ones to ask about the current state of the game. I enjoyed the time I spent with SWtOR and love things related to Star Wars from the movies to all the EU material - if you have a lore question, I can probably answer it ranging from 5,000 years BBY (Before Battle of Yavin) to almost 100 years ABY, however, once I found myself basically soloing and the unappetizing prospect of PUG'n raids I hung up my sub. Val and Phantom have raised the ingame guild from the ashes and can get you some current answers
I should be getting on FFXIV when I get up weird sleeping schedule and all currently watching Supernatural. I have no idea whos RAF to use T-T I didn't expect so many responses since I have had literally 0 Luck with the subreddit...
Welcome to OSD! Supernatural, my wife was on a marathon watching of that series and I think she's caught up on that one. Just post on this thread or PM me when you get your character started on Diabolos and we'll get you in the FC. I put in for you approval here and once that gets the ok, I would advise you look around here, especially in the FFXIV area. Where you planning on playing on PC or PS3/4? If PS then I recommend using a USB keyboard to help with communication. Keep me up to date on your FFXIV Game Status, you will want to look at this thread while things are downloading. http://silverdragons-lair.net/index.php?threads/new-recruits-read-this.23966/ Doc
We are just playing casually in SWTOR. I did notice you had said KOTOR as your fav, have you played SWTOR at all? *tries to right his halo which is difficult with horns starting to protrude as he looks to convert another*
Just checking back, Did you get a character started in FFXIV and if so, what name did you decide on in game?
From where I am sitting, I'm not sure if he is interested in joining the OSD... Or selling something. basing this on his other thread.
