Hello friends! As many of you can see, our site has undergone a major system upgrade... This new design provides us all a rather feature rich environment we can call home! I have noted that as we consider expansion into new games and such we would need a far more robust forum system and design... Bear with me as I continue to tidy things up... Here are some important things you MUST do: If you already had a user account in the former system: 1) Log in! =) It should work fine... You will have "Registered User" rights and will be able to use PM's and the Silver Gates forum. For now on, nobody can POST anonymously!! Even new folks coming by will need to register. This will give us a means to track them down via IP or EMAIL if they are evil villains... hehe 2) Once you have logged in... You'll need to redo your Avatar and your User Signature... There's even a "User Profile" area where you can add your own personal pic of YOU! hehe All these features can be reached within the USERCP option found up top. 3) Now, to gain access to the forums beyond the Silver Gates... While in your USER CP (CP = Control Panel)... You can look to the left towards the bottom... Click on "Group Membership." - Citizen = All access except Officer Forums and Guild Only Forums - OSD ~ DDO = Well, the DDO Guild! =) Gives Guild Only Forum Access... - FYI... I can also make user groups for OTHER gaming guilds we create. =) Ok, now, for new folks that happen by our site and wish to join... Register a new account with a valid email (there is an email verification process). =) Ok everyone... Poke around... Let me know if you notice anything odd... I'm in the midst of optimizing.
Oh... You may have to clean out your PM inbox... The way it works (at least how I set it up... You get more PM space based on yout User Group membership... In other words, Citizens will have more space than a registered user... etc...
Another oh...Each forum has this really cool "Filter." you can sort it so you only see threads from the last day...week....month....etc. It is defaulted to only show threads for the last Month in each forum. Don't think they're gone or anything.... They're just filtered. You can change the filter by looking at the lower right hand side of the screen within the forum.Finally, a cool way to push the clutter away... hehe without deleting anything! =)
woooow.... love the feature at the bottom that tells about who's been active w/i the last 30 days.. awsome!
note: if you wanna see threads in the old way (assuming you used the old forums default) which is newest replied/posted threads on top then do this: on the bottom of the page, after all the threads you'll see: "Display Options" make the boxes say this Sorted by = last post time sort order = descending and the "from the" is yer opinion, i like the default being 1 month
