Greetings Gate Keepers of the Silver Dragons!

My name is Thedgar Son of Kalind of the tribe of the griffon. My journey to the gates of Stormreach and thereafter to the Silver Dragons have been full of treachery and hardship.

I have been sent on a spirit quest by the elders of my tribe, which has lead me throughout the lands, and have lead me into battle with many forms of evil. All manner of humanoid has risen against me, as if the spirit of the griffon is testing my worthiness in its tribe. Orcs, Goblins, and even a Hill Giant have fallen to my great sword on my journey.

As of late my dreams have been haunted by images of great wyrms and silver sky's. In an attempt to discouver the meaning of these spirit visions I have ventured many weeks to the city of Stormreach where I have discouvered the Silver Dragons. It is here I believe the griffon spirit has guided me to fullfil my destiney.

I know you perhaps have your doubts, but I assure you I and my people are honorable and do not deceive or stand being deceived.

So if you have questions ask them and be done!

If you agree, I pledge my sword and courage and swear on the graves of my ancestors that I will act with honor while wearing the Silver Dragon.

    * Stands quitely awaiting the Gate Keepers Questions *

    Hello Silver Dragons,

Just a quick little rl bio.... I am 33 years old and an avid rp gamer. I have played various manner of RPG from PnP DND, to MUD's, and of course pretty much most of the MMO's.

I am a Commercial Pilot in RL, who also owns a Publishing company (Mainly Academic Textbooks in the Social Sciences field).

The main thing I look for in a guild is the feeling of community, that all in that guild look to assist one another and to enhance the gaming experience. It's always better to share experiences with friends than alone.

I have signed up for the Head Start, and have already finished my 10day beta.

If you have any further questions I will be here to answer them.

    Cheers,
Steve a.k.a Thedgar, the Human Barbarian

    Greetings Falstaff and Sook,

Thank you for the kind welcome!

In answer to your questions Falstaff.

You asked what I am looking for in a guild. In reply to this I can say that I am looking for a group of adventurers with whom to explore my destiny, and at the same time do whatever lies in my power to assist them in acheiving theirs as directed by the spirit of the great griffon. Whenever needed my sword and arm will be available to crush the enemies of the Silver Dragon. Also since leaving my tribe on my quest I have been without companions and would like to again share mead and stories of adventure with those of a similar mind.

What are My goals? I have to unravel the mystery that is my spirit quest. Which so far as lead me to Stormreach and then to the gates of the Silver Dragon. I am unsure what the next steps are, but I do know from my visions that the Silver Dragon will play an important part.

What else would the gate keepers wish to know from Thedgar?

You have come to the right place my friend. I am also curious as to what other expiriences you have had(other MMO's) or outside of online gaming...have you engaged in PnP before? Not like I am an expert or anything, jsut figured I would ask before someone else did. I my self have never PnP'd, but if I found the right group of people I am sure I would be interested in giving it a try.

It's nice to meet you Thedgar! What sorts of stories can you share with an old bard? I'd like to hear more about your tribe, your customs, and some of your personal exploits.

(ooc) Also, here's a fun scenario:

You are picked up at the tavern for a dungeon crawl with non-Silver Dragons. One of them is a rogue who refuses to do his job, letting people walk into traps and such. The leader of the party tells you all to hold back and let him scout, which you all do. He then tells the rogue to scout ahead, to which he replies: "I already know where the traps are I've done this one before. Just don't walk where I don't walk... besides, we have a cleric what are you bitching about?"
    What would be your reaction?
    • A) Think to yourself, "I'm not the leader, it's not my problem. And he's got a point we do have a cleric."
    • B) Give the rogue a piece of your mind, with interest. One good jab of ooc profanity deserves another!
    • C) Send a /tell to the leader suggesting to kick the rogue. You also volunteer to fill the spot with a Silver Dragon rogue.
    • D) Tell the group you forgot that you're late to your cajun cooking class, and then go work on your alt for a while. Who needs this kind of drama in a game, anyway?
    • E) Abstain from my canned answers and make one of your own.

    F) Only adventure in partys with 3 paladins and 3 clerics or any combination of Paladins and Clerics. Why bother with the unholy.

I have played most MMO's since UO including AC, AC2, Shadowbane, SWG, EQ2, WOW (Still Playing till DDO), to name a few.

I have been involved in several PnP adventures during the high school/college years. It is definately a fun experience, but does take some work in finding a compatible group.

Ooh me too! I think i'd see if I could track the location assigned to his IP address and then make threatening references about coming to his town! No, I think that if that if people don't play the way I want them to, it's not my place to make them do otherwise. Both people and characters should be able to do things their own way. If they cause me enough of a problem, or I just wasn't enjoying playing with them, I would probably just excuse myself from the situation.

I like to debate things in a friendly manner, but if someone takes it too seriously or starts being rude, I think it's best to just bow out gracefully. People take games WAY too seriously sometimes, and I would just as well apologize for any misunderstanding and not waste my time getting upset. Games are to have fun, and letting yourself get furious with someone is a lot more likely to make sure that fun doesn't happen than any behavior they exhibit. One of the greatest things I ever learned in life is that there really aren't very many things that are worth getting into a fight with someone over. I've actually even let people feel like they won an arguement on occasion if I thought they were going to get too upset. If I do win a fight with someone, what did I really get out of it? I usually seem to feel worse for fighting than I feel good for winning.

    Anyway, </preaching>

Falstaff, you, you... wait, I'm the cleric ... so, being in the group I would just tell the rogue that if he wanted to continue receiving heals then he should partake of the group atmostphere and help us out some (without accusing tone)

Then, in off-line chat, I'll probably ask the leader to get rid of him, nicely, when possible. Then, I'll write his name down and never quest with him again. :)

We do reguire all barbarians to bathe with hot water AND Soap before being allowed inside the gates. So please think of that before you go making any decisions.

Other than that, May your Blade hold true and I be out of it's swing.

My tribe is a nomadic group. We follow the caribou herds migration as it is our lifeline. I am from the island of Icewhite, NW of Kharvaie. We live our life with honor and are fearless in battle, as we frequently are beset in our homeland with all manner of monsters.

Our tribe follows the edicts of our Ancestral spirit the Griffon, who gives our tribe great strength and speed. Our god is Balinor master of the hunt.

The reason I have been sent on the spirit quest by the elders of my tribe is due to my prowess in battle. I am the son of our tribes hero Kalind who slew the great white bear, and defeated the orc king Valik in a single swipe of his great axe.

As of yet my exploits are not numerous, unless you consider the slaying of Kobolds, and goblins a heroic effort which I and my people do not.

In answer to your scenario I am not sure exactly what response if any I would give. Generally option C would be the most likely reply, or inform the rogue that there is more than one way to open a locked door (i.e. By throwing him through it) :p

    Greetings Mennesth,

My spirit quest is a task assinged to all whom would wear the mantle of Hero and protector of our tribe. My father was a great hero of our tribe, and our shaman has forseen that I have the potential to assume the same responsibilities.

In order to prove my worth I have been sent on a quest to prove my worth.

The quest has lead me far from my homeland, based on images imparted to me during my sleep. Lately those visions have lead me to the city of stormreach and to your gates.

I have faith that the griffon spirit has lead me to you for a reason, although I cannot be sure of what that reason is. Therefore I cannot specifically say how you can aid me, other than to say until my purpose is revealed, I can aid the Silver Dragon with my sword and courage.

Of course another form of aid you can offer me is that of friendship and shared experiences.

What else do you wish to know of Thedgar?

    * Stares at Faegon with intent wondering if he has just been insulted.

These words could have you killed where I come from, but as I am in your lands, I will refrain.

I assure the members of the Silver Dragon, that we of the griffon, take bride in our cleanliness, and bathe in the cold springs often to rejuvante our minds and bodies.
