    Hello to one and all,

I was browsing the Tamriel Foundry this evening, and stumbled on your guild post. I am looking for like minded individuals that would like to complete end-game content for TESO. I would consider myself a very skilled and competitive player, however I avoid drama and respect is valued greatly. I have played many many MMO's and have played the Elder Scrolls series since Arena. I am a die hard fan of the lore and the games, one of the best RPG series of all time!

I'm 28, live in Canada, I do aerospace engineering for a living. I'm not one of those typical little kids screaming in the mic or causing drama... I'm a pretty laid back and chilled guy. I would like a group that's focused on downing the hardest instances that will be in TESO, while avoiding the "elitist" attitudes that come with the snobby guilds. You guys seemed to draw a line in the sand there and I get a feeling this group isn't like that.

I will be playing a Dunmer Nightblade - Assassin Spec. I already have my spec figured out, for max DPS and interchangable between CC and interrupts. I will be playing regularly if you guys have set times / days that you would care to play together. I enjoy team work, and completing the hardest content in a laid back, chill environment is what I would like to contribute to.

I would love to hear back from you gents, and willing to provide any further information as required!

    Cheers

It sounds like we would love to have you, but we do have an application process we need you to go through. It looks like you're on the right track but we need you to fill an application out in this subforum. Heck you can use this thread if you like. The application can be found here.

Just reply to this thread with the questions and answers.

Q: What brought you to our website?
A: Tamriel Foundry, looking for Ebonheart guilds with common interests.

Q: This recruitment process requires that we get to know you a little bit. Please tell us a little about yourself personally and add in your past MMO experience.
A: I have played in top tier WOW guilds, mainly on Stormrage US. I was a main tank and also a raid leader for Midnight Sanctuary. I have experience the hardest of "hardcore" guilds and the attitudes that come with it, however I choose to avoid those types while still accessing top tier content. I played SWTOR until I got maxed, and consequently bored of it. I played Everquest for a very brief time. Dark Age of Camelot was great for PVP, as I believe the same guy who constructed that is doing the PVP for TESO. I have played every Elder Scrolls game, with 1000+ hours in Oblivion and 1000+ in Skyrim. I've got at least 95-99% of the content in both of those games cleared. I have also played many FPS, and playing BF4 to hold me over until TESO. Luckily the way TESO is going to be set up, you won't require 25 other people to down the hardest content.... thus eliminating any conflict of interest and adverse personality conflict.

Q: What time of day do you typically play? How often?
A: I will be available any time after 4pm weekdays generally, or any time during the weekends.

Q: What kind of character do you typically play? Tell us about your main character, and please list any alts that you will be bringing into the guild as well.
A: I usually tank, as I have lead hundreds of raids in top tier WOW guilds. As a tank you can generally lead and have better insight on how to make your group work cohesively. However, I will be going straight DPS for TESO. Dunmer Nightblade Assassin, maximum crit% and +crit damage with exceptional CC's / Stuns / Interrupts that are dynamic and interchangable.

Q: Are you affiliated with any other guilds?
    A: Not at the moment

Q: What is it you're looking for in a guild? Why do you want to join OSD? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you?
A: It was the first guild I noticed on TF that seemed to coincide with what I'm looking for. A little more casual atmosphere, that still has a small pool of PVE players that want to down end-game content. I may PVP a little bit, but it's not my primary focus. I generally help newer players level and get started with trade craft. I like to lead, but not opposed to following.

Q: Our focus in TESO will be fighting for the Ebonheart Pact. Does this match up with your TESO faction plan?

    A:
I am taking Dunmer for the + dual wield experience and fire resistance, so it matches.

Q: We have found that guild members have a better gaming experience if they use the forums and the events calender. This allows you to get game information and join guildies in game as a group. Members should RSVP for scheduled events as their real life schedule permits. Creating events is good for the community and is encouraged whenever possible. What are your thoughts on this?

    A:
I am generally active and participate on forums. This builds a sense of team and "espirit de corp". If I cannot make a raid timing, advance notice will be given with good reason.

Q: OSD is generally a "casual, do it all" guild, meaning we welcome players from all playstyles and don't limit our focus to one playstyle in particular. We welcome PvPers, PvEers, Roleplayers, Crafters, etc. For example, while we may offer weekly raids, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires you to raid 5 or 6 nights a week. We also do not consider any one playstyle to be more important than another, all members of OSD are equal. For example, a hardcore PvPer will never be considered "more valuable" to the guild than a casual Roleplayer would be. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic?

    A:
I will be honest, I am a hardcore PVE player without the drama and attitude that generally comes with it. If I am needed for PVP, I will gladly assist as the build I'm using will be extremely effective in PVP with CC's / Stuns / Interrupts. I can and will make raid timings, that's not an issue.

Q: With the previous question in mind...We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role, or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic?

    A:
I will make 99% of raid timings, and if I am needed for PVP I will help when I'm online.

Q: If you violate any rules defined within the gaming EULA, or the OSD Code of Conduct you will face disciplinary action up to and including removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule?

    A:
This won't be an issue for me.

    Q: Is bacon awesome? Why?

A: This is subjective, uncooked bacon is highly un-awesome.

Your application has been reviewed and accepted. Welcome to OSD, Sar'laxxle!

I've also approved your forum permissions, so you should have full forum access now.

When you have a moment, take a look at the thread I've linked below. It's meant to serve as a bit of an orientation for our new ESO members. These forums are large, so it's easy to get lost in them at first.

I look forward to raiding with you

Cool, thanks a lot I look forward to it too! I figured it was time I found some chill laid back people to play with.

I am curious, how many people here do you know off hand will be looking to do end-game PVE? What sort of classes do you guys have already? Do you have any kind of pre-made four man teams? What will you play as Vastiner?

I would definitely like to be on a top-tier group for raiding, but willing to work my way up until I prove myself. I think once you guys play with me a little bit, my chill attitude and skills would be welcomed!

I'll take a peek at that right now. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

    Cheers

I'm probably going to end up playing a dragonknight tank personally. We're a bit more laid back about the PvE than I think you know. We don't really do an "A-Team" or "B-Team" as far as earning your way up to take a spot in the raid. We fill the raids with a first-come first-serve type approach, of course taking into account role requirements. So if you want to raid with us, you simply need to sign up on the schedule and show up on time.

That being said, if we encounter content that is particularly difficult, we adjust our approach. We put together a "progression" group for raids in SWTOR. Those runs were only for people who were serious about taking down the new challenges and would bring their A-Game to the run. We don't make people prove themselves before they're allowed to join us. Everyone deserves a chance to play, whether they are the best player in the world or someone like Griffiud, who doesn't know which end of his sword to hold.

We get to see the end content but it won't be as fast as the hardcore raiders out there. As far as how many people? We aren't sure yet. We have a lot of people from our other divisions who are interested in ESO and I think most of them would be up for raiding end game. Plus we're getting new recruits

Okay awesome, yeah a DK tank would be my second choice. Amazingly viable builds for sure.

That actually sounds really good to me... no one likes being left out when it comes to replacements and competitive nature of some guilds. I think this is the type of group that I need for a change. Since you are going Tank, and myself as DPS hopefully we could play together! Already the start of a good team. I do take a hardcore approach to my own playstyle, and I bring my A-game but I don't get angry. Hell... these are just games. I actually find it hilarious when people get mad over a game haha... so I think I'm going to fit right in with you guys.

I agree that everyone deserves a chance to play. Even some of the stronger players can help the newer guys with higher tier content, so we can work on getting everyone up to speed and geared. I actually really enjoy helping people like that, I am a huge team player and that will become very evident once we get rolling. I don't expect this to be as technical as some of the WOW fights, but we'll see.

Seeing the end-game as fast as possible doesn't interest me anymore as it once did. It's more about enjoying yourself on the path up to it... it's all about the journey and not the destination. A great game should never be rushed anyways.

The PVP looks amazing... so I will definitely be into that to take a break from the PVE stuff. PVP is always 10x more fun when you have a group of people instead of being a loner.

    Cheers

Yessir! Born and raised in the Toronto area.

One thing we have no shortage of is sushi, that's for sure. Along with a Tim Hortons on every corner, there's a sushi joint on every second corner as well...lol

Do you like sushi? Funny that... I just got back from Sushi fang about 30 minutes ago. I'm spoiled, it's right across the street in the mall. I think it would be an exaggeration to think we have more than 10 sushi joints in ALL of Nova Scotia. At least this one is good though!

Side note... after 5 entire rolls, 8 jumbo shrimp tempura, 6 scallops and yakitori I'm ready to die. If I do die... it was totally worth it

Griff, how do you guys make those pictures in your signature? With the guild block and such? I'm really not good with editing pictures and that kind of stuff.

I'm not a huge fan to be honest. I don't dislike it, but it's definitely not my first choice. It's an occasional thing for me, but I do enjoy it when I do have it. Believe it or not the best sushi I've had was in the Dominican Republic. I was at a resort near Bavaro in September of 2012, and one of their restaurants was a Japanese place. The sushi there was incredible. It was just so fresh tasting, I loved it.

My fiancée, Krizalide, also an OSDer, loves sushi though. I'm pretty sure she'd be perfectly content to eat nothing else but sushi for eternity...lol

I make mine using GIMP, which is sort of a free version of photoshop. I basically just copied and pasted some pictures, along with our logo, and did some resizing. It's really easy to do once you figure out the basics of the program. I made Vastiner's as well. Mine is literally just a cropped screenshot of one of my Skyrim characters, with our logo and some 3D text I downloaded off a website thrown in.

If you really want a great signature, butter up to Kriz and convince her to draw you something. Trust me, she could draw a depressed purple goat with fangs while farting rainbows and it would still look awesome.
