Thanks for the welcome(s). Eurenthan, could you kindly point me in the right direction for a good PvP Ranger build? I'm feeling lost and a little overwhelmed coming back to the game as there's so much I have to catch up on. I've read some good things that made me want to give the game another try though. Any help or input is appreciated.

Start with Bow ranger. No need to overwhelm yourself with the xbow. I will link one of my pvp builds once I find it.

I have a few noob questions that I might as well throw out here in my thread instead of ask people in game. 1) When I first played AoC, I don't think it was on a PvP server. So what is it like now... can you attack anyone anywhere? What should I look out for? Any advice? 2) My main, Jervais, is 32... where should I be leveling? Should I be grouping all the time? You are on Cimmeria though right? It has always been PvP.. with a little RP thrown in.. You won't get attacked, nor can you attack in the Hub cities.. Old Tarantia, Conarch, Khemi.. with out risk of insta-death by a Guard. You are probably going to be headed to the Wildlands of Zeleta, Sewers, etc.. not sure who we have in the 30's range.. but keep youself in Vent when you are on and we can try and sort stuff out if you run in to trouble out there.
I'll help answer your questions.. On this server you can kill and be killed anywhere outside of a main city (Old T, Khemi, etc..) Cities are pvp free zones. Just like it was on Tortage. Once you leave the main cities you are fair game and can be killed or like I said, kill someone else at any time. Just watch for the guards. They are found in the quest hub areas throughout the land. As well as zone in/out locations. What to look out for? Bottle necks. You're 32 and probably doing quests in the Wild Lands area. Tesso is a hot bed of PvP action for the mid level folks. They hangout there while waiting for mini games to pop. Once you get outside of the Tesso "city limits" you can mostly quest unmolested. ALWAYS keep your eyes open though and trust no one unless they wear a guild tag OSD considers friendly. Most folks will tell you that you can easily get to 80 without ever having to group. In my opinion that will guarantee you miss out on some of the better dungeons. Try to group to finish off those last "group quests" before leaving that area and moving on to the next. I have found that once you leave an area and start questing in the next you don't really want to go back and the further you get up in levels the less likely you'll feel the need to go back. So although you don't NEED to group try to get those quests done. As for where to go? finish off the quests in the Wild Lands (if you need to cap off a level or two try going to Khopshef Province and doing some of the quests there to pad you xp. Once you hit 38 or so try heading in to field of the Dead. Which is another hot bed of PvP activity. This area is kind of linear so it's easy for the stealthy classes to find you and try to sneak up on you. Since Jervais is a ranger try tracking now and then just to see what's going on around you. Not sure if you had a chance to hook up with an officer yet but try to do so. Once in we can probably get you set up with a group to run some of those 30 - 40 dungeons like Sanctum. Some good gear in there and good Exp for quest completion. Hope that helps.
Perhaps.. but yours was MUCH more informative than mine I prefer to keep it brief and lead our good Dragons like Jervais here to Vent.. mainly because my fingers are old and slow, my attention span is short, and in Vent Zugg and I can torture Jervais with our unique and distinctly individual brands of humor..
