Q: What brought you to our website? A: I am looking for an interesting and friendly guild/clan to help me enjoy Wildstar Q: This recruitment process is a great opportunity to get to know you a little bit. Please tell us a little about yourself personally and add in your past MMO experience. A: My real-world name is Roy and I am 44 years old. My wife and I live in Central NC. I have been playing MMO's for over 15 years. I am currently winding down 9 straight years of World of Warcraft. I spent 13 years in the United States Navy and recently graduated from NC State University with a B.A. in English. I started clan/group gaming with Dark Jedi Organization and the wonderful game called "Tie Fighter" and then on to X-wing vs. Tie Fighter. I started playing Star Wars Galaxies and played it until the NGO. That is when most of my guild left Galaxies and went on to World of Warcraft. Q: What time of day do you typically play? How often? A: I definitely play from 6pm to around 11 pm eastern time (U.S.) If I am home, I am normally in one game or another. Q: What kind of character do you typically play? Tell us about your main character, and please list any alts that you will be bringing into the guild as well. A:I have played Tanks (currently a Guardian Druid (Tank-specced) in WoW), healers and dps. For Wildstar, I am looking forward to playing a Medic but have not decided on what spec. I will be using the Beta weekends to test a class each weekend. Q: Are you affiliated with any other guilds? A: not currently Q: What is it you're looking for in a guild? Why do you want to join OSD? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A:I am looking for a well-rounded guild that I can be a part of. Guild/clan membership is more than just being a name on a roster. I have met some excellent people in my guilds. OSD looks like a guild that will have a variety of people in it from all over the world. I like interacting with people. I can help the community by being the best player/person I can be. I can help the guild as a whole achieve its goals. The community can help me by just being there and living up to the goals it has established on the website. Q: We have found that guild members have a better gaming experience if they use the forums and the events calender. This allows you to get game information and join you guildmates in-game as a group. Members should RSVP for scheduled events as their real life schedule permits. Creating events is good for the community and is encouraged whenever possible. What are your thoughts on this? A: I have always been active on guild forums. A specific location for people to look at events is ideal. Q: OSD is generally a "casual, do it all" guild, meaning we welcome players from all playstyles and don't limit our focus to one playstyle in particular. We welcome PvPers, PvEers, Roleplayers, Crafters, etc. For example, while we may offer weekly raids, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires you to raid 5 or 6 nights a week. We also do not consider any one playstyle to be more important than another, all members of OSD are equal. For example, a hardcore PvPer will never be considered "more valuable" to the guild than a casual Roleplayer would be. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: Yes, I am ok with it. MOst guilds I have been in have been multi-purpose guilds. They work well as long as everyone understand that. Q: With the previous question in mind...we will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role, or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and ven the playing field a little. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: That is just part of being part of a community. Q: If you violate any rules defined within the gaming EULA, or the OSD Code of Conduct you will face disciplinary action up to and including removal from this community. Do you understand and agree with this rule? A:yes Q: Do you find that bacon is an awe-inspiring, nectar of the gods? Why? A:No, While Bacon is quite good and I will munch on some any chance I get I feel that it falls just short of the ambrosia-like quality you tried to make it.
Welcome Ironfox!! If we ever group in Wildstar and I'm running some kind of healer, may want to bring a back up one so you don't have to rely on my healing abilities. See while I'm standing there trying to heal my eyes wander looking for shinies.
Great app, I just need you to do one more thing: request the citizen permission group. I'll check back soon.
I think I know what you did and it happens a lot, you tried to ask permission for both groups at the same time. When in actuality, you have to do one at a time.
You are all set! Official Silver Dragon is what you are. If you have a minute, please check out THIS link for great info on our Wildstar division.
Thanks for the warm welcome. My wife will be playing also. Have we decided what time zone server we will be on? Plans for this weekend? I will be pre-ordering two copies (one for me, one for the wife) and plan on being in the weekend Beta this weekend.
We don't have a set time zone since we recruit from all over the world, but I would say a majority of us are all NA time zoned based. As in, there will be a max of 2 hours difference from when we all have our...prime times. If that makes sense?
Welcome Ironfox! Thanks for the great app, I'm sure you'll find a lot to do in OSD As for the time-zone question, like Xanz said, we haven't finalized it. Since we're rolling on a RP server, we're really hoping they only launch with 1 per region (NA/EU/Pacific). In the event they launch more than 1 RP server per region, we may reevaluate, but I've found that picking a central time zone (not EST or PST) is optimal since it allows both sides a reasonable time frame for guild activities. We're really spread out so I wouldn't worry about no one being on when you play Welcome again, and hope to see you around the forums and In-Game! Bale
