Dear Officers and Members of the Silver Dragons Guild: I would like to introduce myself and apply for membership in the Silver Dragons Guild. I have long admired your guild and the quality of players in it. I have adventured with a number of them, and get along well with Silver Dragons. I am particularly interested in your organized events, especially raids and live events. My main character is Wabbles, a 12th lvl dwarven fighter, balanced build. I have an alt, a 6th lvl Drow Ranger, Kalakk. I usually play weeknights after 6 pm eastern. I am coming to you after the disbanding of a guild I was an officer in, Prophets of Tann. Sadly, our membership is down and the officers are disbanding this month. I am an old-school D&D player, blue box, early 80’s. MMO’s are new to me, but I’ve learned fast. I enjoy the camaraderie of the game, teaching and learning, having a good time, playing serious but not taking things TOO seriously. I look forward to hearing from you. Wabbles
Welcome Wabbles! Sorry to hear about your guild break-up. Tough to be an officer of a sinking ship. I think I have grouped with you in the past and I definitely know you are a solid tank! Sook and Yndro will get back to you on the technicalities of the website.
welcome to OSD , enjoy your stay while your here. Try to put your characters in your sig if you have time
Welcome... ....Mr Wabbles. Ive grouped with you in the past, very solid lil dwarf. Welcome to the guild, hope you enjoy your stay.
Hey Wabbles! I was with Wabbles in a dragon raid the other night with Daydreaming. He's a good guy. Sook, our community leader, is out of town right now, so it might be a few days before you get any official response to this.
ive ran with wabbles a few times and both times it was a joy to have wabbles with us mostly cuz of the name but he is a solid player and he is fun to have in a group!
yeah! what he said (hint: the 'content' is the thread that comes up when you hit the big button that says 'interested in joining? click here')
clarifying questionairre Hey All: I thought in my original prose introduction I had covered all of the bases, but I figure I will respond to the questionaire if that is more helpful: - What brought you to our website? I had checked out your website early on, in a link from the DDO guild forums. Of course I revisited when I became interested in joining. - Why might you be interested in joining our community? I covered this pretty extensively in my introduction. To be brief I've grouped with OSD members and was impressed, and I'd like to be part of a stable guild, high quality, that has regular events. - Have you been playing MMO's for a while or are you just getting started? Only playing MMO's since january, but old school pen and paper D&D er. - Do you feel comfortable with the website and it's resources after having read the posts above this thread? Sure, although my first few times out I had trouble posting - still not sure why. - What kind of character do you typically play? Tell us about your main character? I typically play balanced build dwarven fighters. - Describe your style of game play... I like to have fun, talk it up. I use my character as a main tank. - What time of day do you typically play? How often? I'm an academic so my schedule changes according to classes - but typically I play from 7 till midnight eastern time on weekdays. The girlfriend owns the weekend. - Are you affiliated with any other guilds? I was an officer of Prophets of Tann, a guild that is dissolving. I have one alt in Berry Goodness Inn, a guild I have many friends in. - What are your characters names? Wabbles, Lvl 12 dwarf fighter, Kalakk, lvl 7 drow ranger, Wabblemon, lvl 4 dwarf fighter 32 pt build. - What server are they on? ( We play on Argonnessen) Argonnessen Hope that takes care of everything. I'll be emailing Souk in response to his reply, but I've read the content, from his coffee cup to the calendar, several times. Wabbles.
I was able to see through the thinly vieled paragraph format that you used in the first post to see that you had answer the questionaire .
almost fyi - 95% of our raid events are on the weekend (fri, sat, sun) but during the week we have all kinds of odd and end stuff goin on this community values loyalty over all other attributes, and we know from past experience that a person with toons in more than one guild (esp on the same server), inevitably has 'split allegiances.' this does not mesh well with what this community is about and what were trying to accomplish as a gaming community. basically, what we want from guildies is an all or nothing mindset. if this is acceptable to ya, then we welcome you
