hey hey bee idc man im trying to learn some stuff about rogues to idc. But ya now my computers fix i reinstall DDO guess what it says unspecified error file might be corrputed i reinstalled 4 times after and the same thing any help plz.
alright, well it could be a firewall, or something else, ill check wat i said to someone earlier... ok on ddo support it says if your download is corrupt, it was interupted, or blocked by a pop up blocker, firewall, or antispyware. just disable those and download it again ya, i think ill stay pure rogue though, rangers are great, but they go too far from the rogues trapfinding. they should add the classes from the complete adventure book, they all have trapfinding, and their not bad fighters themselves. but they should add gnomes, halfelf, halforc, and druid and monk class before that.
Are you using a download manager? Even after I used one to download at home I still had to redownload the file twice...kept getting corrupt files...I suggest using a download manager and patience...lots and lots of patience....took me two days to download the game at home...TWO DAYS!
must have been two long days.... but ya if you want to learn about rogues, try talking to thraxxes (is that right?), he has a lvl 12 rogue named goodspeed. i might multiclass, i have no idea...
Please, don't let me rain on your parade. If you wanna make a fun toon to play go ahead. I had a similar toon called batbryce that was actually pretty effective supporting and magekilling. Made it till bout Level 7 when all the parties started needing certain classes to complete certain quests. Tanks killed more than me, rogues disabled traps better than me, rangers ranged better than me, etc... So I was moderately effective in a few ways but hurt parties in others. He still could flip around and do some stuff but I decided to specialize a little more. BTW, you check favor by clicking on the star on your main toobar and click onb the second tab. That tells you your total favor and how much favor is in each house.
ok be and grizzt ok new computer is ehre ill try downloading on friday or thursday cause im working at 8 estrn till 2 in the morning then on wednesday fro 10 am to 1m A 24 HOUR DAY NOOOO!!!
lol rain on my parade no changed my mind, im sticking with rogue, just have to max on search and disable (hide and move silently and sweet for halflings, plus items ) , and ill wait till lvl 6 for two weap fighting
hey hey grizzit man i would just stick all rgoue man i aggre but dont bother with two wpn fighting a good rgoue doesnt fight unless oif hes like 2rogue/10 barb or ftr so i would get something else cause like i said rogues shouldnt fight muuch
I have to disagree with Dragonslayer on that one. In fact, a rogue who doesn't fight, while fun in Pencil and Paper, has no niche in DDO. I can't imagine he'd be very fun to play either. Every one of those 6 party slots needs to be contributing to combat, in addition to the occasional traps. (There are loooong spaces between disables in DDO ) It's very possible to build combat proficient rogues. Rogues get so much sneak attack damage (+7d6 at 13th level, which is an average of +24.5 damage per hit) that, while sneak attacking, they can probably keep up with you're party fighters. Now, when the agro turns to the rogue, all that damage dissappears, so it's a tough position to play. Anyways, this is probably the wrong thread for this discussion!
ok well heres wat i think about it: Rogues, must be good at traps, without important skills like diplomacy for social things that are important in pnp, rogues lost a lot : (. They became one sided, they have too find traps now, parties depend on them. Rogues, make excellent scouts because of their hide and move silently ( a trademark among many rogues) . They also with a high dex make excellent archers to back up rangers ( i personally use a heavy crossbow) and if they stealth in to within a 30ft range, you can add sneak attack (as long as they dont now your there). Rogues can also help with flanking to bring down the baddies and lay out some huge sneak attacks on one guy, but when their are many targets, they become more ineffective. Rogues need to be adaptable, to change from sniping that unsuspecting kobold, to hamstringing that giant ogre. They can help with combat, using stealth in to battle they can lay a target out with a sneak attack shot, then melee to finish. But a famous saying that could apply to rogues who become dependent on melee "Those who live by the sword, will die by the sword." Rogues dont get a great base attack bonus, so light weapons with weapon finesse and a high dex could help with melee. But rogues, in this style of game need to help with traps, no other class can disable them, so nearly every party will want one. They need to have a high int ability, but a high dex, to excel in a dungeon. Now about Grizzt Darkoak Grizzt is an excellent scout, being small, get racial mods for hiding and move silently, its no surprise he has 16 in both , but he has a major flaw. Grizzt has 12 int, a +1 mod, which not counting items or racial increases, about an 8 for disable device and search. ( im add ranks every new lvl, i have too). Now all is not lost but, things aint looking up, without items, and the typical trap dc to even find it, is about 20, so im gonna need an over the average roll to find them, but those are only basic . I have some items to increase, but im, basically reliant on foxs cunning pots or spells or even wands to find traps. Now its all good if you got plenty of them, but when you run out and im not done, kinda in some serious ****. So i have become dependent on the high intelligence of a caster. Now grizzt is a perfect scout, high dex, small, and quiet. He is a good sniper, fair melee, good sneak attacks. But the party doesn't want rogues who excel at that, they want a decent trapfinder, so i can solve it with an item that boosts int by like 2. Potions, spells, and wands, are good, and with use magic device, i could use them myself (if i had ever increased the skill ) but a permenent item would be much better.
man man the firewall crap didnt work i got all of it downed and i tried it again and same thing.. i might not be able to join u guys ill check in and let u know if i can get this dang thing to work i did it while i was at work for 24 hours then went to bed so like 34 hours and nothin still had it on at work like 49 hours and nothing!
