Primary Character Class: Ranger

Character Back Story:
As an Elf growing up in Valenar, I was raised in the way of a warrior. I was trained how to hunt and track humans, and the quickest ways to end their short lives. Unfortunately, or I like to view it as fortunately, the great war was over just as I had finished my training.
Due to this same training I no longer felt comfortable living a life of peace, so I left my home to wander the breath of Khorvaire. I did quite a few things during this time that I am no longer proud of, and my life finally changed when I met Roland, a human Ranger from the no longer existent land of Cyre. I tracked him for days, meaning to end his life like all those others. I struck quick and fast just as I was taught he must have been ready or perhaps I erred in my approach. None the less, he was ready for me as I struck my blade home he turned faster than I thought possible and struck home with a strangely glowing blade.
The pain was excruciating, and I now accept that pain as the beginning of a path I had to walk to become the person that I now am. Never before had I felt such fear, this man stood over me with his sword to my chest. I new I was to die that day for already I was beginning to loose consciousness, but he did not strike. To this day I still do not know why, he reached down and touched my head, a flame erupted throughout my body. The last I remember is seeing a bright glow radiate out from his hand before I slipped from consciousness.
The story that follows many would consider long and boring, but I served by Roland's side till the day he died. I had a new appreciation for life and a yearning for a chance to repay my debt to a dear friend. Therefore, I set out for Xen'drik, not to make a name for myself, but to ensure that those who do, do so with their heart and mind at peace.

Give us a little bio about yourself:
31 year old male from Maryland. Working and going back to school (should have gone back for that second degree when I could still mooch off the parents, but oh well) have a wife of almost two years and expecting our first child in August. Played D&D since Jr. High and still loving it.

Great tale....surely worthy of a fine ale. Have one on me and welcome. You say you have more boring tales? They can't be that bad. Let us light a fire and hear some more.....

Araevin takes a seat at the bar 'I'll have a glass of your finest wine'. He may be over his hatred of humans but he is an elf none the less.

 

I see...not an ale drinker. We might have a few casks of wine fer ye type.

Thanks, still not sure if i'm more nervous about screwing the kid up totally or completely ecstatic about being a dad.

Heck, sometimes still feel like an irresponsible kid myself

but hey, here's a little bit more about myself

My names Samuel, you can call me Sam or Sammie, either way. I'm a vocal major, and have performed professionally here in the states and have also had some tours abroad. I'm going back for a second degree in nursing (gotta pay the bills somehow, and as much fun as singing and performing are, being away from my wife for 3 or more months out of the year is now out of the question with a child on the way). I've played P&P D&D since Jr. High, and am currently DM'ing a campaign in Forgotten Realms. Just got my 10 day beta started and having fun. Really like the fact that the game has a more P&P type feel than other games i've played. And no being a bard is not my favorite character, although i do have fun when i do play them,

I'll fill in more and give a few more of Araevin's stories a little later, gotta go get the wife food, she's already having cravings!!!!!!

 

I do have 1 question. Rather simple one. What does a guild mean to you?

 

and i have a simple answer - friendship


I can go on about how it's a group of people getting together, and then something about common goals, then experiences and the journey together - but it's so much easier to say it's all about friendship and having fun together.

I could also go on about how people group together out of a need for companionship and to feel part of something, blah, blah, blah......but then again I am taking a Psychology class this semester, so I'll stop over analyzing it

Answer is Friendship!

 

you must excuse me for now, i would love to continue on telling you more about myself and my adventures with Sir Roland, but it seems that a rather drunk dwarf has lost his axe. Never will i understand their infatuation with the axe!

As Aravin walks from the tavern all can hear as he mutters about dwarfs, axes and how will he ever get the smell of the sewers out of his hair.

 

Guards ready a bath for Aravin when he returns and have some nice warmed spiced wine waiting.

Any Elf willing to jump in a sewer for a Dwarf's axe is the kind of elf I want inside these gates. You have my full support for membership.

I heartily support this one's application Anyone that does anything for a crazy dwarf is worthy of our consideration.

You had my vote the moment you dove into the sewer.

Never though i'd be friends with an elf. Looking foward to more adventures together!
