I am still a bit confused about the application process, but I'm trying this. My name is Doug, I registered under the name Conallis, and then ConallisCernach. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to log in under that to post this, because it wouldn't let me. Anyhoo, I was lured to this pit of refuge by Ronyel (and yes, he really is an obsessive poster. I just watched him doing what he does best; posting while at work). I'm a veteran of World of Warcraft, City of Villains, and the Ragnarok Online open beta. Ronyel speaks glowingly of this guild, he talked about this guild and DDO so much that it convinced me to cancel my WOW account (which I'm in the process of) and pre-order DDO with virtually no knowledge of the game except from what he told me, and what the DDO website told me. I've been playing the beta for two nights now and I absolutely adore the game. If this is what Dungeons and Dragons is like then I've been missing out on alot over these past years. I suppose I should tell you a bit about myself. As I said before my name is Doug, I am from New Hampshire and am friends with Ronyel (also a co-worker). I have briefly played WOW with him, and briefly played COV with him. I enjoy sports (watching and participating), a good videogame (everything from Tactics Ogre to Soul Caliber. and everything in between) and have come to love the mmo genre. I got my roots in RPG gaming with Eastern style console games. I have recently been exposed to Western style games such as the Elder Scrolls series, the Deus Ex series, and to a lesser extent games like Fallout and Anachronox. I tried the Ragnarok Online open beta when it came out and enjoyed the community feel. I felt that the game itself was fairly weak but at the time I was a sixteen year old with no job and couldn't really afford to buy one of the juggarnaut games like UO or EQ (It's been 4 years already?). Recently I purchased World of Warcraft on a friend's reccomendation and have enjoyed it greatly. Myself and 3-4 of my close friends started a guild on the Stormscale server and had an absolute blast from levels 1-59. I know it's a topic that is beaten into the dust but the post-60 content in WOW is absolutely terrible. You can either raid 40 man dungeons (which for the record, gets old no matter how much you do it.) or participate in the god-awful pvp system. I feel as though DDO is a breath of fresh air. I'm having a blast playing my Barbarian. I'm cleaving through enemies while Ronyel sits in the back casting spells. I would definatley welcome the opportunity to quest and rp with folks such as yourself. I'm going to be ingame practically all night and would enjoy to hear from you guys! My ingame name is Conallis. Ahhh so is the humble life of a Cleric. Glad you finally made it to the boards man. And I am happy to hear that you cancelled that steaming pile of crap that many like to call World of Warcraft. Anyway, join us in chat here on the boards and see if you can hook up with us in groups in game, possible tonight when I get out of work.

Have you been getting the emails the system has sent?? Also, which of the 2 accounts did you want to use? The longer name or shorter name? I'll reject the other.
The shorter name would work nicely, thank you Sook. Just like Ronyel I can be somewhat of a forums whore. I may not be as knowledgable as he on D&D (or at all for that matter), but I'm anxious to learn from a group of people who have probably been roleplaying for a very long time! I hope to group with you guys at some point tonight.

Ok, I will accept the shorter name... and reject the longer name. Keeo an eye out for the accpetance email and follow the directions. Welcome aboard brother. Look around and make yourself at home... I'm sure Ronyel will give you the tour of the site. Make sure you register your Beta character name within the Guild Characters tool under the main menu.

As you can see with all the warm welcomes here this is are really really great bunch of people here. I would argue its one of the best and friendly guilds I have ever been in, and that is saying alot. I am sure you will fit right in here man.
