I heard rumors of closed gates

Pray tell, this is not true....I am but a lonely traveler who seeks the warmth of a campfire with like minded souls. If you can hear me, please open your gates, for I can be a very useful ally.

USERNAME: Dardenelles Mirkwood

PRIMARY CHARACTER CLASS: Ranger

BACKSTORY: I have hiked and rode over more leagues than I can recount. I am weary from travel and am looking for a place to hang my swords. I was orphaned at a young age. My village was ransacked by a unseen force...I only remember the baying of wolves and the fire that took my village. It is too painful to speak of so I will leave it at that. I have since trained in the ways of the forest and have survived because it was either survival or death. I am anticipating my latest adventure. I am currently enroute to Stormreach and hoping to find solace once I reach the cities gates.

BIO: I am 28 and employed in the computer industry. I have been a pen & paper D&Der since the early 90's. I have been an avid reader of the Forgotten Realms novels and many TSR / WOTC computer games. I am looking to join this guild and no others. I have read dozens on sites and reviewed the content. I think I have found my home and I think you have found a valuable ally.

"Keep an ear to the ground and your eye keen, for the danger lies in what is unseen..."

Dardenelles Mirkwood

Yes Dardenelles Mirkwood,

Unless you're a close friend or a family member of an existing Dragon, we will not be considering applicants at this time.

If you want we can keep your application on file and will review it if we re-open the gates at a later date.

Indeed...greetings as well met traveler. While you wait outside the walls might we hear tales of your recent travels? Let us hear more about you.

We still welcome refugees to the gates, but just can not let them in. But, I've heard that the powers above will unlock the gates again, once all the commotion dies down. Tell us more about yourself and your goals and surely you will be prepared to enter the gates once they've been unlocked.

Lend us your sword ingame my friend... Another good strategy is to "Make" a friend from within.

Aye, where to begin...I hail from the city of gamblers, Las Vegas, where the sometimes the lasses are cheaper than the ale. I have heard stories of Stormreach for years...though the travel towards it has been slow...

(I participated in the beta and played a couple different classes: rogue, warrior, cleric, bard and ranger. My favorite class is the ranger as it has always been...going pack to pen and paper. I am really looking forward to Friday and will be eager to help "officially" or "unofficially")

I have examined the terrain and there seems to be a great many travelers heading towards Stormreach at the same time. Curious!
I have been traveling alone save some animal companions from time to time...Nothing would make me happier than to find a friend...a fellow or lass to aid me in my journey, perhaps to persuade the gatekeeper...to vouch for a weary traveler looking for good companions and good times...The stars are aligned, I just need a bit 'o divine intervention....

Look for me at headstart... I will be on as soon as possible when the servers come up. Adventure with me and I'll try to make some divine intervention happen

Well then, it looks as if I was sharing bread, wine and cheese with a ghost. One thing to be said though, everyone was very welcoming!

(Dardenelles gets out a wood block and a knife and starts widdling)

A heavily armored man with a even heavier looking mace in his hand approaches you. You notice a holy symbol of the silver flame hanging from his neck. After sizing you up and glancing about the area he says, "Indeed strange things happen outside these gates..." Kril hands you a skin full of wine and says, "We'll send out some supplies as we patrol the grounds. Unfortunately we cannot let you in at this moment. Standing orders you know. But that doesnt mean we can't visit and share some fine drink and tales."

"At the end of this week we make our way into stormreach. Stay vigilant here and meet up with some members of the order. Should they vouch for you after we storm the harbor and secure the area we may have a place for you." Kril offers a salute then heads back within the gates.

We will try our best to keep your company in this time of waiting. Patience is a virtue.

Brings out a bundle of wood and a warm blanket for the weary traveler
As one of the lucky ones who made it into the gates just before they closed I know how cold it gets waiting out here. And if you promise some good tails of past adventures I can bring out some ale to help quench your thirst.

Aye, look for us while your in stormreach, I'll be more than happy to measure up your skills.

And if your gettin hungry while standin outside the gates . . I know a few good places you can put those skills of yours to work.

*Brings out a blanket and some firewood to heat things up* By chance have ye coome across and elf mages named Flaggstaff? I been looking for him for a long time. I've heard tales of his adventures and his past seems to be as mysterious as my own. I'd like to cross paths with him, if not for nuthin else but to see if he actually exists.

How about we build a little house for all of the refugees that are locked out!

*casts lemunds secure shelter* That should help keep warm and dry during this unfortunate time.

I will miss scaring all the new recruits

Blankets, fire, a house... interesting... we should just let him in, I think. It's only one, so far.

Sempi..... you scare away recruits? It can't be.

Aye, but for a ranger these types of conditions are nothing more than mere inconvenience.

But perhaps i should go check on him just to make sure to see how wll he fairs  *as he deftly slips through the gates to check on our lone recruit*

*after several hours of searching Araevin returns*

Well i hate to admit it but was unable to track Dardenelles down. Not sure if he went searching for some prey to hunt or Sempiternal scared him away. :?

No sign of him right now? Well he knows how to find us.

I recommend he come see one of us on Friday, we might be short a man or two in a squad and I might be able to squeeze him in if he doesn't mind working for free. Highlord Sook froze the payroll and I have no extra funds for troops.

I'll take him along with Falstaff and I, if we have a space. I'm sure he'll love being exposed to the two of us

He'll be back I'm sure.
