Your username for this site: Nykon

    Primary Character Class: Rogue

I see that your gates have closed temporarily but I would still like an account here so I can find out what server you will be on so I can team up with members of the Order so that when your gates reopen I am already known and have proven that I have the spirit of the dragon in me.

Character Back Story: I am Nykon, to the best of my knowledge I am the only one in my family to survive an Orc attack on our village. I survived because I was buried in the rubble of our family’s home; I was discovered two days later by some passing elves who heard my weak cries for help. I stayed with the elves for two years while I healed. That was five years ago and I haven’t been back to my village since. I have heard rumors that other members of my family/village survived but I have never been able to find them.
I am 2’ 4” tall, and weigh 36 lbs. I have green eyes, brown shoulder length hair pulled back into a ponytail. I am dressed in a brown cotton shirt, a red and black plaid kilt, and brown boots.
My weapon of choice is a short sword; but I also carry two daggers.

Give us a little bio about yourself: My name is James; I am a 29 year old System Administrator in the Air Force (but I will be separating later this year). I have played Anarchy Online and World of Warcraft. I haven't gotten to play D&D as much as I have liked to in the last couple of years because having everyone at work that plays deploying all the time makes it impossible.

    Greetings Nykon,

There is still time for a skilled rouge to slip in before the gates shut. The Highlord has extended the time until Midnight tonight so please share with us your views as to what makes a good organization and what you see yourself contributing to our community.

We look forward to your responses to the Guards question today, and don't take it personally but I have ordered our Duty Mage to ward the strongbox. So sit order an ale on my tab, keep your fingers out of my coin pouch, and tell us more about Nykon the Rouge and his creator.

My view as to what makes a good organization is one that is helpful to everyone in need of help not just fellow members because you are not just representing yourself but the whole organization and one member can give all the members a bad reputation.

What I see myself contributing to the community is another helping hand either in a dungeon or in providing any advice to less experienced members.

And don't worry about the strongbox or your coin pouch, I'm trying to join your ranks not get executed by them.

    Greetings Lad,

You've got it right about the gates closing for a wee bit, but they aren't locked yet. There are still a few who are watching it today with an eye for the last minute stragglers.

What brings you to Stormreach, and more importantly to our gates? What do you see in your future and how would the Order play a part?

I came to Stormreach because I looked every where for clues about my family and was hoping they might have come here, but alas I have found no clues and fear them all dead.
I came to your gates because while having a drink in the Silver Flagon Tavern I over heard some patrons speaking of your noble Order and was compeled to come and inquire about possable membership.
What I see in my future is hopefully finding a clue about my family and if not at least making Stormreach a safer place for everyone in the world. And the Order would help me in my tasks because one halfling can't do that alone, at least not very long without being killed.

It sounds like our halfling friend has served many good people and has the qualities that we need in our guild. I submit my support for his acceptance.

multiple choice... and if i could put bubbles on here and ask you to use only a no. 2 pencil... i probably would... cause that would be funny...

    1. how would you LIKE to traverse dungeons (no matter how many times youve done that particular dungeon)

    a. so slow that not even voice chat can keep your companions awake
    b. slow enough to stay alive and enjoy the scenery, perhaps even stop the group and tell them to turn up their graphics so they can see this cool light effect
    c. a decent pace, not slowing the group, but giving people time to do what they need, whether it be trading after getting loot from a chest, or waiting for a trap to be disabled even though everyone can make it past alive (hurt but alive)
    d. fast, do what needs to be done, if the optional quests are easy enough, do those too, get the loot, the the xp and get out
    e. warp speed - loot means nothing compared to xp, if you get left behind yo better stay alive.... waterworks, all 4 parts done in less than 1 hr
    f. none of the above - please explain in essay form

conspires to himself... If we can get more halflings in here, we can justify investing in some tall chairs for the Flagon! I feel a song coming on...

Oh, one evening a halfling came to a bar.
He stood on his toes but the ale was too far.
The humans and elves, they laughed in their beer.
He listened for jokes, but was too low to hear.

    Badooom
    Badooom
    Too looow to hear...

But then they all turned for a view of the door.
A half dozen halflings stood waiting for more.
Soon there were thirty and carpenters too!
And the sawing of chair legs and bar stools ensued.

    Badooom
    Badooom
    And the bar itself toooo..

Before long the humans and elves were dismayed.
The seats two feet high, bar stools were all flayed!
The bar was now normal-sized; up to their knees.
And the halflings were seated comfy as they please.

    Badooom
    Badooom
    Up to their kneeees.

So, remember before you scoff at a shorter being.
They've other ways to make themselves seen.
And it could have been worse when you give it a thought:
Dwarves can't make rhymes, but they can sure kick your ass.

    Badooom

    Wonderful, simply wonderful.

Now get in the backroom before your bardlyness overwhelms the application.

I take out a sharp no. 2 pencil and carefully fill in the bubble for:

    c. a decent pace, not slowing the group, but giving people time to do what they need, whether it be trading after getting loot from a chest, or waiting for a trap to be disabled even though everyone can make it past alive (hurt but alive)

I can answer both questions with one answer. While drinking a good dwarven ale, I have never met a dwarf I didn't like and after offering to buy the next round they usually like me too.

Follier, I loved the song, and I agree they need more tall chairs in taverns, unless it is a dwarven or halfling tavern then everyone else thinks it needs a higher ceiling.

*leaning slightly to the right and starting to slur from to much ale*
Reading these post I'm starting to think you guys drink to much, but then again what else is there to do until the Head Start Event starts on Friday.

I enjoyed this applicants initial post, and there was sufficiant follow-up in my mind. Given more time I think he would do a great job convincing us to let him in so why waste time.

I support this applicants admission, and will even forgive him for getting the Bards worked up.
