Q 1: Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us? A: That would be DDO Q 2: Do you currently have characters playing in game? If so, What is the name of your in game character and what server are they on? A: Yes, I am Flixand currently a rogue on his 4th life on Argonnessen. I'm currently trying to grind out a completionist. Q 3: Guilds can serve many roles, and as with most things, expectations matter. In order to get a better feel for whether this is a good fit, we would like to know what you look for in a guild. A: I'm not sure how to answer this. I'm mainly looking for a group to adventure with. Q 4: When and How often do you usually play? This is so we know when to look for you in game and get you in the Guild. (Please add your time zone in the answer) A: I play almost every day around 5:00. If necessary I can log on whenever. Q 5: Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played them? Please share one of your favorite memories in a MMO you have played. A: DDO is pretty much the only MMO i've ever played. I've been playing DDO since 2008. Prior to that I played tabletop AD&D 2nd ed. since the 1980s. Yes I'm that old. Q 6: What is the best game you have ever played and why? A: Half Life (is there any question?) Q 7: Are there any upcoming games you're interested in playing? A: Not currently. Family, business, lodge, etc. usually take up my time Question Category - Community OSD is a group of folks that has gamed together for more than ten years, many of us consider this group as extended family. The following questions help us to understand who YOU are as a person, not just a gamer. As we are more than just a gaming community we like to get to know a little about the folks that want to be part of it. Q 8: OSD advertises on various gaming websites, Facebook, Twitter, and in the games that we are playing. The following questions will help us know what formats are working and where we can improve. Who or What brought you to our Gates? A: Found a post by you all in the DDO Forum. Q 9: There are many ways to engage and get the full guild experience with OSD. How often do you see yourself using the Forums / Discord rather than in-game to interact with the community? A: every few days. Q 10: Please tell us a little about yourself. No need to be too explicit. We don’t need your home address or shoe size. Let us know about your hobbies if you have them. Do you have family? Pets? Work? Do you plan to conquer the world by using Lucky Rabbit’s feet or some other crazy idea? (This is probably one of the biggest questions on this application as it lets you tell us about you.) A: Lets see, who am I? I'm a father of 2, husband, business owner, Freemason, gamer (obviously), dungeon master, magician, Rosicrucian, whiskey swilling legend in my own mind. Q 11: Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A: hickory smoked bacon with no nitrates 1/4" thick planks for crunchy goodness.
welcome, flixand! glad you made it to the gates out of curiosity the thread you found on the ddo boards, was it the Chronicle thread? we currently categorize ddo as 'casual' which basically means we're not 'actively' recruiting... are sending people away? heck no! we LOVE new members! we just dont have the resources/man power to put into maintaining the kind of guild we used to have... which is a very active, organized, raiding, every-evening-theres-multiple-guild-groups-going-on kind of guild... but often during the evenings we'll have maybe 10-20 online. we have the chronicle permagroup on monday eve's, and a hit-and-miss group on wed eves. and theres often a bunch of epics being run on a consistent basis. poke your head around the forums and ill give others a chance to chime in! again, welcome to the gates!
Hey there, welcome to our site! I really liked your application. I'm on the road till tomorrow (Daughters has a soccer tournament), until I get back, what level ranges are your DDO characters? As Yndro pointed out, we have a couple of casual things going on in DDO...maybe we can link you in... alternatively, get you dialed in with some of our vets, who I sometimes have a hard time keeping up with in quests. Haha
Hi Yndrofiun, Hi Sook, I found the Order of the Silver Dragon in the section on guilds of Argonnessen. Your membership requirements struck a chord with me. I'm not a hardcore player (unless you ask my wife). Not enough time. Currently Flixand is an 11th level rogue. He's on his 4th life having been an Articifer, Fighter, Sorcerer. His next life is to be a dragonborn paladin and after that a cleric. I eventually want to play the gingerspyce druid healer tank build. After seeing him play it on youtube it just looks like a blast. I've always played DDO solo so I'm inexperienced in playing with groups. Funny thing is that I've wanted to play in groups but have yet to find one to play with. Looking forward to it if i'm let into the guild.
sounds like youre a great fit! i dont see any reason to keep you waiting any longer! welcome to the Community! i havent asked for officership since i came back, so ill let the guys online know to expect you. if you see an osd officer online, theyll be able to throw you an invite, just let them know yndro sent you remember youll need to leave your current guild before we can invite. see you in game and in our ddo forum!
Welcome - I am an officer but my work right now is crazy and I am only getting a few hours of playtime in a week.....boo hiss. But welcome to the jungle. I look forward to questing with you.
