This seems like the opportune time for Dennis to run for grand recruitment wizard of the nine realms

As I have commitments also on Crystal Desert to my RL partners, I will have to pass as RL comes first. I feel saddened that you seem stuck in your ways with the old MMORPG guild system and unwilling to entertain/investigate other options of this completely new system, but it is your loss as you have lost a good guild member, who is 100% supportive of guild at all times wherever possible and would have been on a lot, likely 10 hrs a day, most days. I wish you all the best in your endevours and hope that you do wake up to the possibilities opened to you by ANet in time.

Zsolaith, afaik there is no time limit/frequency limit they are associating with guesting, so technically while you reside on one realm you could guest in from log in to log out every day. I am not a PvPer, I wouldnt have, by guild charter, been going near WvW either. "We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice."

Kace I'm sure I had a friend of ours in guild, from another server during beta and a post that I quoted, from ANet, referred to people being in guilds on servers other than the initiating one, so I would assume that its possible.

Summing up, I'm saddened to say, at this point I will not be joining OSD and instead will meet my OSD friends to adventure from time to time, as ANet opens this possibility.

I understand your frustration at not having your cake and eating it to, but it sounds like you are looking for more of an open community than a guild. Perhaps in time this guild will adapt a rank for guesting, but until then I wish you luck in your travels.

I'm sorry it won't work out then. We do what we can to cater to as many possible concepts, however for a guild to become strong upon release of a game we'd have to see that such a concept would viably work... slowly... over time. The number one focus of the OSD is community.

With that said, let's stay in touch and look at this concept in the future.

    This...

Way back when, I'd wondered how OSD might be dealing with folks who don't want to rep the guild at all times. I get that just starting out we're not thinking of such an option. But how to deal with the multi-guild feature to our benefit is a question we ought to look at seriously.

We actually have already discussed this and after much deliberation, we decided to go the route stated by, Zso and the questionaire. I'll see if I can dig up that thread.

Thanks Xanz. If it's been decided, I don't want to rehash things. Was just interested in the stand.

I'd say our policy is working as intended.

Thanks for the passive agressive response, but no.

We did analyze both sides of the table and we've made our decision and we're sticking by it. I'm sure you're a great player, but again no, it is not our loss, because we aren't interested in having members that are unwilling to follow our (very casual & extremely lax) guidlines.

As it seems they don't work for you, we thank you for your time and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

    Thanks everyone for chiming in.

Since CassSmith is no longer registering to be in our guild, i'm going ahead and closing this thread.

    Take care. :)
