Q. Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us, and do you currently have characters playing in game? If so what are their names? Which realm? Which platform? A. I'm currently playing ESO, but I just started it so I'm still low level (level 5 is the highest so far). Jikar is currently the character I'm playing but I'm planning on making alts soon. I also want to play Chronicles of Elyria when it starts Alpha 2 and beyond. Q. This is the getting to know you portion of the questionnaire. Please tell us a little about yourself. (Hobbies?Family? Pets? School? Work? Any super hero or super villain abilities, nefarious schemes we should know about?) A. I'm a 45 yrs old gamer that has been playing PC games since 1985 when I got my first 386sx computer. I've been married for 21 yrs, have a son who is starting high school next fall (I'm scared of that lol), and I build computer systems and part time youth worker. In CoE I'm planning(hoping) to travel around the lands to bring healing to the out of the way villages and hamlets that the nobility forget need help. Q. Why do you want to join OSD? What is it you are looking for in a guild? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A. I'm looking for a group of players that are active and easy going. But also understand that although gaming is a lot of fun, sometimes family has to come first before playing and raiding. I enjoy socializing with other gamers and helping out where I can. Q - What led you to our website and ultimately to filling out this application? (Which friend? Website? In game ad? Psychic magnetism?) A. I found the Order of the Silver Dragon listed on the Guild Recruitment page on the CoE forum. Q. What is your typical game play schedule like? Please include times and time zones. A. I'm usually on in the mornings from 9-12ish Monday through Friday PST is there aren't any appointments and in the afternoon and evenings as I can manage as long as there isn't too much Jr High homework that my son needs help with. Q. What is the best game you have ever played and why? A. I'm not sure I can honestly give a single game as I've played so many over the past 30 yrs. I guess the Thief series was one of the ones I really enjoyed because of the immersion you had as a Master Thief who didn't want to be seen or caught. I've also enjoyed Rift, LOTRO, The Secret World, etc... Q. What platforms do you usually game on? If not just a PC, which consoles? A. I play on the PC now because the Xbox system we had died and we haven't had the money to replace it yet :-(. Q. Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played for? A. The first MMO I played was Meridian 59 which came before Everquest. I've played Ultima Online, Rift, Trove, The Secret World, LOTRO, Path of Exiles, ESO, and many others. I started playing MMOs around 1998 if I remember correctly. Q. What is your favorite part of an MMO and why? (Leveling, PvP, raiding, community, roleplaying, crafting, achievements, exploration, etc) A. I enjoy the Social aspects of MMOs, RPing, Crafting, Exploring new areas, etc. But the thing I enjoy most is "taking the time to stop and smell the roses" when I play because if you don't take the time to enjoy the world the devs created, the stories that are apart of the game, and the chance to make good friends in a good guild you've missed half the game. Q. Are there any future MMO's or multiplayer games you're interested in playing? A. Chronicles of Elyria and Saga of Lucima are two that I'm looking forward to playing when they are released. Q. OSD is more than just a guild in a single game. We are a community of gamers that come together through the forums and TeamSpeak. Do you plan on being active on the forums and use TS? What are your thoughts on using event calendars on the forums to coordinate guild events? A. I do plan on being active in the forums and using TS or whichever communications software is used. Event calendars are a great tool as long as everyone uses them and/or take the time to read them lol. Q. OSD has earned and prides itself on a reputation of respect, maturity and integrity. Please read the OSD CODE OF CONDUCT. If you violate any of these rules you jeopardize the reputation of our community and will face disciplinary action up to, and including, removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A. I do understand what is asked and agree with it. Q. We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time, you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. What are your thoughts on this topic? A. Everyone has a place in the game and they should help out when and where they can. As I don't PvP much, it's one of the weak areas in my gameplay, but I have no problem helping if asked to. Q. Pretend you are raiding with the guild and after the final boss fight an uber fantastic, stupendous, ultra rare, sparkly item drops. Who do you think should receive this item and why? A. Who would it benefit the most is my first thought, next would be Who sacrificed for it the most, finally who could get the most for it . Q. Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A. Actually I haven't eaten real bacon in 20 yrs... my wife prefers Turkey Bacon. -- OSD Black Default -- vB4 White -- New Grey -- Black Gray -- Default Mobile Style
Welcome Joreel. I love reading these questionnaire - so much fun remembering the old days and games we played. I think you will like it here - its truly an extended family. I'm also looking forward to CoE. I haven't heard of the other you mentioned - will have to look into it. I'm a game hog; I love to check them all out. Right now I'm taking a break from most MMOs, well, except for Neverwinter. The combat mechanics in that game is wonderful, and getting back into my RPGs but I also have played most of the ones you have mentioned. One of my favorites is RIFT. This game would be huge if the story-line was a bit more compelling. Again, welcome to OSD!
