My name is Cheval Kinslayer, Human Cleric Extrodinaire-to-be, although right now ordinaire is probably closer to the truth. I've heard of your group and it sounded like something that interested me a great deal, espicially the taking-it-easy-on-the-new-guy part. Currently, I'm interested in partaking in the events and learning how to be effective, both as a cleric and a party member. In the future, who knows. As far as tempo of play goes, I like to move along, but not too fast or recklessly. As for me, my exprience in MMO's is limited. I played Eve for a while, but that's it. I still play text based Muds on an ever decreasing basis. I have played pnp DND for a long time, however, as well as other computer games. My favorite types of characters are support oriented casters (a CC wiz is in the que, once a get a handle on the game). I normally play in the evenings after wife and kids are in bed (around 9:30 MST) until I get tired, around midnight. As requested, my character's info is in my sig (Cheval). I currently have one character and he's on Argonnessen. I have no guild affiliation. Thank you, Cheval Kinslayer
Hello.... ....Cheval!!! Im Bee Just want to welcome you to the forums, and I'll welcome you to the guild when the 'man' accepts ya! Man, I tell ya, alot of new faces since DDO started the phat lewtz!! Good to see, good to see.
Welcome brother... It seems you made your way through our welcome content. Did you have any questions about the site and it's resources? How did you find your way here?
I I also want to say welcome to our wonderful guild. And if u need anything message any of us im pretty sure most of us can help u out brother
Unto Sook: Yes, I've wandered around the halls and perused the some of the information there-in. I cannot think of anything to ask as of now, although that's liable to change. Unto Yndrofian: In many posts on the DDO forums. The big draws for me are not necessarily what the other members of the guild say, but rather what how others respond to those statements. I've been members of various orginazations where the "knowledgable" want to horde knowledge or dispense it at their leisure. I'm firmly of the opposite opinion. I see no reason to do that and will freely give of what I've learned. It appears that the members of this guild feel the same. Wordily, Cheval
well met sir and welcom to GUILD!!!! and yes knowlage is power yes we share knowage freely except where the officers meet in there secreat lair and plot against me!!!!!! but you sound like some one who will find much joy and satification in our meeting ground be shure to check out the calendar it is a great tool for you to get a group going or join one. once again welcome!!!
As we look to recruit members... We're looking for those that fully plan on playing an active role within the game...but also within these forums. ARe you ok with that? *sigh* If only more members would take advantage of these great resources.... I will say, things in these forums are in an up swing... but we need to set an expectation for new members coming in.
well said sook !!! plus you said knowlage is important to you the forms is how we share our knowlage please use it and share with us what you have learned!
Unto Sook: I have every intention of being as active as I can. That being said, this is not the number one priority(I like being both married and employed ) , however it is something that I very much enjoy. For actual hours, I usually peruse forums duing lunch and play at night after 9:00 or so and occasionally on the weekends, subject to Spousal Negotiations (TM). Unto Thraxes: All righty then (cracks knuckles). In no particular order, and bear in mind that this isn't necessarily based on DDO experience, just in general. And this is just basic type stuff, but it's all I've got right now, check back in a few weeks. Awareness of surroundings. This is at least as much what your companions are doing NOT just the mobs. IE If the wizard is doing laying down terrain (wall of fire, web, etc), don't run through it to get to the mob, silly ftr. Flip side is that not all mobs actually need Crowd control. Multitasking. I, of course, chose one of the professions that has the possibility of being blamed the most for this. This probably has something to do with a masochistic streak I have, but whatever. However, it's another lesson that everybody needs to think about. IMO, everybody needs to be paying attention to what's going on. Don't be a leech or a pain. Nobody likes them. Everybody has responsibilities in the party. Contribute, but don't go out of your way to make it more difficult for everyone else. Rogues scout and spot for the crowd controllers, who in turn manage the crowds enough as to not overwhelm the tanks/killers but also not to to much because this wastes resources. Clerics keep everybody on their feet and helps out as necessary. Hence the multitasking comment. IMO, I really don't care who gets the most kills, I'd rather see a successful adventure. I used to do medieval recreation and the guys who did the killing (spearmen) would have died like dogs if not for their shieldmen. So who actually is responsible for a kill? Both. Of course I found these things easier playing PNP. We had a turn time limit to keep things moving, I could still plan while someone else is doing their thing. Sorry if some of my thoughts are incomplete or confused. Tonight's my night to watch my son and it's tough when an eighteen month old is "helping". Cheval *edit* two things I forgot. Communication as well. Also, don't under estimate Divine Healing and (esp.) Cleansing
OK brother, both Citizen and DDO Guild groups have been approved. You sir are officially a member of our Order. May our enemies fall to our blades! I will ask any of the officers to come looking for you.
Good... ....LAWD Cheval, that took some work to get ya in last night, dint it?! Well, you are now here...this is where all the fun starts...dragon kills, BAM runs...aww man, its too much!! And Cheval, it would be awesome if you could be active here on the forums too. I love posting here, but we seem to only have a hardcore few that do. And this is really where the friendships and 'bonding' take place and are strengthened. Good to have another Dragon.
friendship? I am just here to steal loot from the rest of you... uhm..i mean...yeah bee is right! welcome
