Hello!! Here's my application for the FC for Final Fantasy XIV. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Q: What brought you to our website? A: A friend of mine who got me into FFXIV, recently joined up. Freshly Xfered to Diabolos, looking for a great FC to continue leveling with, and someday, doing some End Game content with! Q: Do you plan to primarily Play FFXIV on a PS3 or PC? A: only PC. Q: What's your In Game Character Name? A: Vesuvan Nijian (though recently renamed from Miriah Nijian) Q: This recruitment process requires that we get to know you a little bit. Please tell us a little about yourself and how old are you. A: Am a 29 year old male, married, 2 kids (4yr and 2 1/2 yr), play a lot of games from offline single player RPGs to several MMOs. Played WoW for around a good 4-5 years total, and played a dozen or so other MMOs. Have done a bunch of End game Raiding in WOW and SWTOR for years, so I get along pretty well with members. Also ran a small guild for a while, tough stuffs. Q: Have you been playing MMO's for a while or are you just getting started? If you have played other MMOs which ones have you played before? A: Been playing playing MMOs since Vanilla WoW, and mostly WoW. But I have delved into a number of MMOs. Aion, Grenada Espada, Age of Conan, Tabula Rasa, LOTR Online, D&D Online, DC Universe Online, Neverwinter, and a few more. Q: What kind of characters do you typically play or what roles are you attracted to the most? (Tanks, DPS, Healers) Tell us about your main character. A: I typically play Tanks, Warrior type classes. I initially started as a Dragoon in the last Beta, unsue if It was gonna cary into production. So it did. I kept playing the Dragoon, until I started playing Marauder on the side. I grew to like it more, and have since Fate grinded it up to 42 which is where my Dragoon and Wife were at. I almost ALWAYS play Tank roles, even though they are pretty tricky to play. It's just what I do. I enjoy being the guy in the front, with the heavy duty armor, and sword/board, or in this case, BATTLEAXE! Q: Have you been affiliated with any other Free Companies (Guilds) on Diabolos? If so, which ones. A: Nope. Just Xfered this morning. Q: We have found that guild members have a better gaming experience if they use the forums. This allows you to get game information and join guildies in events as your real life time permits. Do you intend on being active on our website forums? A: I usually am as I get involved with the Guild. Initially, I may be a bit quiet, but I am quite the social person usually, but not OVERLY over the top social. Unless I really grow to like the group I'm with. Q: Once you learn how, we would like you to create events or RSVP for other scheduled events as your real life schedule permits. What are your thoughts on this? A: As a parent of two children, my times are LITTLE bit sticky. We'll see what the schedules are, and do what we can to attend. I'm perfectly fine with first come first served type thing. Q: We expect all members to submit and update their characters in our website roster. Are you okay with this? After reading the above content, why do you think it might be important? A: Yup, that's cool. It's always good to know who you are getting on board. You can sometimes derive a sense of skill/priority based on the quality of someone's gear based on their class. Depending on the right pieces on, materia melded, etc. Also, can see all the crafting/gathering classes and alt classes leveled up. Gives you a good idea of what this character is capable of. Also, Blog access, see if this person is a ranting lunatic or a genuinely nice person. Feel free to check mine out. Q: If you violate any rules defined within the gaming EULA, you will face disciplinary action up to and including removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A: Yup. Q: OSD uses Ventrillo. Our FFXIV Alliance also has access to a very large TeamSpeak Server. Are you familiar with these program? While it is not required that members be in vent/ts while in the game, it will be required when Raiding / End Game and encouraged for regular dungeons. You don't have to speak, just listen. Just having everyone interact will make the run more enjoyable. What are your feelings on this? A: As a computer nerd, I've delved into all possible forms of Voice communication software. You name it, I'll get it and figure it out. As someone who's raided a lot in the past, this is pretty par for the course. Q: What time of day do you typically play? How often? A: Most of my key game time comes from Week nights, after 7:30 PM EST until whatever time I get tired. On weekends, it varies, but still pretty consistently hit the 7:30 PM marker though. Q: We will be on the Diabolos Server. Does that match your Server Plans? A: Already here, on Diabolos. Q: How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A: I can tank, i can DPS, I can craft some stuff, but plan on getting it up there. I'm quick to learn and adapt, a key player for many parties. I love to dungeons and Raids, and help people out if they ask. Just an all around good guy, who wants to help out and play a game with some cool cats! Q: OSD is generally a "casual, do it all" guild, meaning we welcome players from all playstyles and don't limit our focus to one playstyle in particular. We welcome PvPers, PvEers, Raiders, Roleplayers, Crafters, etc. For example, while we may offer weekly dungeon runs and/or raids, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires you to participate 5 or 6 nights a week. We also do not consider any one playstyle to be more important than another, all members of OSD are equal. For example, a hardcore PvPer or Raider will never be considered "more valuable" to the than a casual Roleplayer would be. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: Yup! I'm not looking for hardcore shenanigans anymore. I'm not big on PVP and as long as it doesn't directly interfer with my game time, I don't make a big deal about it either. I hope to have an opportunity eventually to get into some End Game with the FC, and I'm always willing to do whatever is needed to help make it happen. I consider myself a Casual player than Hardcore, but I do take some tasks seriously, but I'm never a douche about it to someone who chose to be more casual, or RPer, or Crafter/Gatherer. As long as you are a good person to me, I'll be good to you!
