Q1: What brought you to our website? A: Roommates are a part of this community and they introduced me to the world of FFXIV Q2: Do you plan to primarily Play FFXIV on a PS3 or PC? A: PC Q3: What's your In Game Character Name? A: Jamal Jackson Q4: What kind of characters do you typically play or what roles are you attracted to the most? (Tanks, DPS, Healers). What is your Current Primary Job on your Main Character? A: I used to like DPS but the queue time is usually way too long, so I've started healing for most MMOs that I play. Q5: Have you been playing MMO's for a while or are you just getting started? If you have played other MMOs, which specific ones have you played? What is your favorite part of a MMO? (Leveling, PvP, Raiding, Crafting, Achievements, etc) A: I've played WoW for quite a while, and also Tera/Rift here and there, I really enjoy instances because you get to cooperate with other people. I also love the social community. Q6: Have you been affiliated with any other Free Companies (Guilds) on Diabolos? If so, which ones. A: Nope. Q7: This recruitment process requires that we get to know you a little bit. Please tell us a little about yourself and how old are you. A: I am currently a third year university student in Canada, studying Computing and Financial Management. I enjoy playing sports (mostly basketball and softball), and also love playing games. In my free time I like going out with friends to movies or some drinks, but not a party animal . Q: We have found that guild members have a better gaming experience if they use the forums. This allows you to get game information and join guildies in events as your real life time permits. Do you intend on being active on our website forums? A: YES, I feel like these forums are sort of a way to get to know your other guildies, and also a good place to organize guild-wide events. I think it is absolutely necessary for every guild to have an active forum, it just creates a better environment for everyone, and simplifies many tasks. Q: Once you learn how, we would like you to create events or RSVP for other scheduled events as your real life schedule permits. What are your thoughts on this? A: I'm on board with events and RSVPing! Q: We expect all members to submit and update their characters in our website roster. Are you okay with this? After reading the above content, why do you think it might be important? A: It's important because it gives everyone an idea of who/which characters are in the guild, sort of makes it easier for guildies to find each other for various events. Q: If you violate any rules defined within the gaming EULA, you will face disciplinary action up to and including removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A: Agreed! Q: OSD uses Ventrillo. Our FFXIV Alliance also has access to a very large TeamSpeak Server. Are you familiar with these program? While it is not required that members be in vent/ts while in the game, it will be required when Raiding / End Game and encouraged for regular dungeons. You don't have to speak, just listen. Just having everyone interact will make the run more enjoyable. What are your feelings on this? A: Yes, I've used Vent and TeamsSpeak/Mumble before, it definitely is needed for endgame contents, makes communication so much easier Q: What time of day do you typically play? How often? A: Probably afternoon to night EST, how often I cannot say as it depends on the workload I have. Q: We will be on the Diabolos Server. Does that match your Server Plans? A: Yup! Q: How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A: I will try my hardest to bring my unique personality to this community, and hopefully will make other guild members' days more enjoyable! It would be really great if this community could help me learn the different aspects of the game, as I am still getting familiarized with it. Q: OSD is generally a "casual, do it all" guild, meaning we welcome players from all playstyles and don't limit our focus to one playstyle in particular. We welcome PvPers, PvEers, Raiders, Roleplayers, Crafters, etc. For example, while we may offer weekly dungeon runs and/or raids, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires you to participate 5 or 6 nights a week. We also do not consider any one playstyle to be more important than another, all members of OSD are equal. For example, a hardcore PvPer or Raider will never be considered "more valuable" to the than a casual Roleplayer would be. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: Yes, I love casual guilds as it doesn't force anything upon me, as a University student a Hardcore guild could really cause huge problem in my life, so I'm very happy with this!
