Q: What brought you to our website? A: A recruitment post on FFXIVRealm. Q: What's your In Game Character Name? A: I went by Moku Jin in v1.0 but I haven't decided on a name for ARR yet. Q: This recruitment process requires that we get to know you a little bit. Please tell us a little about yourself. A: It all began back in 1988 when I was first brought into this world... Just kidding. I'm a 25 year old student at ASU in Computer Science. I am very involved with computer programming. My friends say I have a dry sense of humor with a lack of a filter at times. I like to read but spend most of my time playing RPGs and MMOs. I currently live in GA but I'm moving to WA in Dec. In MMOs I'm a casual player in it for the story and visual art. I like to RP from time to time. My main draw to this game is the coding involved in making it. Every action we preform or monster's attack is based on equations and multiple lines of nested loops, calls, and other commands. I feel that knowing a games internal mechanics is almost like having a strategy guide written by the dev team. Once you know how it all works it's like having a boss battle handed to the team on a silver platter. Oh, I could go on and on about that for hours... Q: Have you been playing MMO's for a while or are you just getting started? If you have played other MMOs which ones have you played before? A: In chronological order I've played: Ragnarok, Lineage, WoW, FFXI, FFXIV, Champions, SWTOR, DCUO, and soon FFXIV:ARR. Q: What kind of characters do you typically play or what roles are you attracted to the most? (Tanks, DPS, Healers) Tell us about your main character. A: I started playing as a healer in my early years. Later I tried Tanking and Dps. If I had to chose one I would lean towards Tanking. My main would be a Tank unless the LS needed something else. I see the value in each type and would not have issue with filling a need. Simply working in a team and playing the game is what I enjoy the most. Q: Have you chosen an Affiliation with a Grand Company yet? If so which one? (The Order of the Twin Adder - Gridania, The Maelstrom - Limsa Lominsa, or The Immortal Flames - Ul'dah) A: I have not chosen an affiliation yet. Q: Are you affiliated with any other Linkshells or Free Companies? A: This would be my soul LS for ARR. I was in a LS in v1.0 but they have disbanded. Q: We have found that guild members have a better gaming experience if they use the forums. This allows you to get game information and join guildies in events as your real life time permits. Do you intend on being active on our website forums? A: Forums are essential to the flow of information and notification. I intend to set this site as my browser homepage if I'm accepted. Q: Once you learn how, we would like you to create events or RSVP for other scheduled events as your real life schedule permits. What are your thoughts on this? A: I would love to do this. I have made events in past MMOs with great success and have a blast hosting or attending them. I feel events help members gain a sense of comradery within the LS. Q: We expect all members to submit and update their characters in our website roster. Are you okay with this? After reading the above content, why do you think it might be important? A: Yes. This will be beneficial in tracking progress and forming appropriate teams based on semi-current stats. Q: If you violate any rules defined within the gaming EULA, you will face disciplinary action up to and including removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A: Yes. Q: OSD uses Ventrillo. Are you familiar with the program? While it is not required that members be in vent while in the game, it will be required when Raiding / End Game and encouraged for regular dungeons. You don't have to speak, just listen. Just having everyone interact will make the run more enjoyable. What are your feelings on this? A: I support the use of Vent. Q: What time of day do you typically play? How often? A: Typically I will play on weekdays in the afternoon and all day on weekends if my schedule permits. When I play I tend to lose track of time. I think I spent two days straight playing FFXI, without sleep. Q: We will be on the Diabolos Server. Does that match your Server Plans? A: It will be a new server for me but I have no reservations. Q: How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A: I see a community as a team. We all have the same goals in mind and should help each other see them to fruition. Above all we should enjoy the company and have fun. Q: OSD is generally a "casual, do it all" guild, meaning we welcome players from all playstyles and don't limit our focus to one playstyle in particular. We welcome PvPers, PvEers, Raiders, Roleplayers, Crafters, etc. For example, while we may offer weekly dungeon runs and/or raids, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires you to participate 5 or 6 nights a week. We also do not consider any one playstyle to be more important than another, all members of OSD are equal. For example, a hardcore PvPer or Raider will never be considered "more valuable" to the than a casual Roleplayer would be. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: I think that's great.
