Hello Everyone! Haven't done one of these in years, but hereeee we go! Q. Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us, and do you currently have characters playing in game? If so what are their names? Which realm? Which platform? A. I am Interested in playing FFXIV with you fine folks, and my character currently in game is Ball Fade. I am on the Diabolos realm on the PC. Q. This is the getting to know you portion of the questionnaire. Please tell us a little about yourself. (Hobbies?Family? Pets? School? Work? Any super hero or super villain abilities, nefarious schemes we should know about?) A. Well I am a pretty basic person lol. Currently not in school but do plan on going back to get my nursing degree. I currently work as a Firefighter Paramedic for the city that I love. I can run fast? Not Flash fast, but fast. Q. Why do you want to join OSD? What is it you are looking for in a guild? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A. Well I am new to FFXIV and from year of playing other MMOs I learned that is best to get with a good group of people early on to try and learn the most you can. I can with help keep smiles on faces and try to help out with anything else I possibly can. Long as we are able to have a great time together as a Team that is all I need. Q - What led you to our website and ultimately to filling out this application? (Which friend? Website? In game ad? Psychic magnetism?) A. Basically was just doing research on linkshells ( Not sure what they are called on FFXIV yet haha) I ran into yalls ad and thought I would give it a shot. Q. What is your typical game play schedule like? Please include times and time zones. A. I am in the central time zone. My time of being able to play changes due to my work schedule but usually still plenty of time. My work schedule is, Work 24 hrs, Off 24 hrs, Work 24 hrs, and 5 days off. So with that schedule you can see I am pretty open, unless I pick up an extra shift. I do like to play pretty much until the next morning sometimes, unless I got work the next day.Right now my time online is mostly being spent leveling up and trying to get the classes up needed to become a Summoner. I am for sure on usually between 7pm-w/e. Q. What is the best game you have ever played and why? A. Aww man to pick one would feel wrong. I have played so many games and to honestly pick one as the best would be too hard. But I will say back in the PS1 and PS2 era I enjoyed some of the best games . I say that because I feel like more time and love were put into them, instead of just pushing them out to make a profit. Q. What platforms do you usually game on? If not just a PC, which consoles? A. I use to be a Console man, then just recently I decided to join the PC Master Race and built me a nice little desktop and also got me a decent laptop. I still have my ps4, but it is now used to just play Playstation exclusives (Waiting on Kingdom Hearts!). Q. Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played for? A. Man haha. Started off like everyone else on Everyquest, but I played it on the PS2. I enjoyed it sooooo much and I possibly played it for 2+ years. After that I played FFXI on PC , I still remembering having to ask my mother (The Real MVP) to get me a gfx card so I could play it. I loved how awesome the summons looked, sadly not so much on FFXIV :/. It was also quite nice playing with players from Japan. I played that for 2+ years. Next up was WoW. I played it for 4+ years and might even try it out when legion drops. I will have to say I made many great friends while playing WoW and most I still talk to. Currently play GW2 sometime , not too much tho. Been playing that for about 4 months. I tried out Black Desert, but wasn't feeling it too much. Q. What is your favorite part of an MMO and why? (Leveling, PvP, raiding, community, roleplaying, crafting, achievements, exploration, etc) I love the interaction with folks that you possibly never have a chance to speak to in real life under regular circumstances. I do enjoy the thrill of raiding with a group, even if it is just wiping all night, because once you finally get the kill it feels so great. Adventure is another awesome aspect that I find in MMOs. Q. Are there any future MMO's or multiplayer games you're interested in playing? A. I do plan on trying out Legion when it comes out, just because a friend requested I try it out with them. Waiting for Battlefield 1 to come out. Also waiting to see if anything comes of Lost Ark. Q. OSD is more than just a guild in a single game. We are a community of gamers that come together through the forums and Teamspeak. Do you plan on being active on the forums and use TS? What are your thoughts on using event calendars on the forums to coordinate guild events? I am all about being active with my crew. I more than willing to be on and talk it up with everyone on TS and also on forums. I am perfectly fine by calendars, use to use them all the time on WoW. Q. OSD has earned and prides itself on a reputation of respect, maturity and integrity. Please read the OSD CODE OF CONDUCT. If you violate any of these rules you jeopardize the reputation of our community and will face disciplinary action up to, and including, removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A. I do understand and agree with the rule. Q. We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time, you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. What are your thoughts on this topic? A. Lets get out there and lay the smack down on anyone that decides to get in our way! That all sounds right up my alley. Q. Pretend you are raiding with the guild and after the final boss fight an uber fantastic, stupendous, ultra rare, sparkly item drops. Who do you think should receive this item and why? A. Whatever system is in place . I say that because yall have been doing this for awhile and pretty sure know the best way such item should be dealt with for the betterment of the linkshell. Q. Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A. Yes it is very awesome, Bacon is life. Bacon is so important that I have to make sure the B is capitalized. Though I did commit sin this morning and ate turkey Bacon. It wasn't A dream, but more of a vision. It was the lady and me going to the store and buying the correct Bacon and not the turkey witchcraft I ate this morning. Thanks for reading and I hope to meet some of yall soon!
Nice Application. We do have a good number of FFXI vets within the Free Company, although I did like the game, I couldn't get past the clunky UI. I gave you one of the two permissions you requested so you should have partial forum access. To get the other half please follow the instructions below and request Member permissions so I can give you full access and respond below when its done to cue me in, I'm still recovering from the CON I've been at with my wife, so that would be very much appreciated. Check out this thread when you get a chance, which should help you get on TS and into the FC if you are not already in. http://silverdragons-lair.net/showthread.php?23966-New-Recruits-Read-This Welcome to OSD! Doc Here is how you request permission groups: 1. Click the following link ... (Permission Groups) (If you want to get there without the link, click settings which is at the top right of this page, then scroll down and click permission groups on the left side). 2. Next select the radio button to Join Group for “Member”. Then scroll down and hit the “Join Group”button.
Ok, ok... try to Hang around our FC Home in the Mists - Ward 1, Plot 15 - there always seems to be someone there doing something although with it being a Holiday weekend, a few might be afk but it will still work. Click on them and 'view company", and you should be able to apply from that menu and state you filled out the forum application. Officers will see it as soon as they log in when they check and we can get you in even if you log out once we have that request. ;P Doc
