Q: What brought you to our website?
A: The recruitment thread on the official Lodestone forums.

Q: Do you plan to primarily Play FFXIV on a PS3 or PC?
    A: PC

Q: What's your In Game Character Name?
    A: Drykinous Mox

Q: This recruitment process requires that we get to know you a little bit. Please tell us a little about yourself and how old are you.
A: I am 26 years old, and I've been playing MMOs for a very long time. I started with Dark Age of Camelot and played almost every game between then and now. I raided in WoW from vanilla to 4.0 in hardcore guilds, so I am no stranger to not standing in the fire.

Currently I am working in Japan as an English teacher/translator.

Q: Have you been playing MMO's for a while or are you just getting started? If you have played other MMOs which ones have you played before?
A: The two MMOs I've played the longest were Dark Age of Camelot and World of Warcraft. I have played almost every other MMO that has come out between then and now, though not as extensively. Listing them all would require too much googling to remember the names.

Q: What kind of characters do you typically play or what roles are you attracted to the most? (Tanks, DPS, Healers) Tell us about your main character.
A: I tend to play DPS as my main, and healing as an alt. Dealing damage has always been the most enjoyable aspect of a MMO for me. Currently I am playing a level 50 Bard and farming tombstones to gear up into the ilvl 70 gear. When my Bard is geared I am planning on leveling Conjurer and making a White Mage as my alternate class.

Q: Have you been affiliated with any other Free Companies (Guilds) on Diabolos? If so, which ones.
A: One of my longtime friends from World of Warcraft joined the FC Nemesis off a random invite. I tagged along just following him. They are a good bunch of people, but are not organised in the slightest. It is difficult to do much with them, so I am looking for a more organised FC.

Q: We have found that guild members have a better gaming experience if they use the forums. This allows you to get game information and join guildies in events as your real life time permits. Do you intend on being active on our website forums?
A: If there is a forum available I will take advantage of it. This is the leading reason why I am applying to OSD. My job allows me to browse the internet from time to time during the day, so you can be sure that part of my browsing habits will land me on OSDs forum.

Q: Once you learn how, we would like you to create events or RSVP for other scheduled events as your real life schedule permits. What are your thoughts on this?
A: I have no issues organising events if there aren't any available, especially if there are tools to make the process simple. My playtime is limited enough, that an RSVP feature for events is straight up my alley. Being able to get on for a few hours and get something done is very important to me.

Q: We expect all members to submit and update their characters in our website roster. Are you okay with this? After reading the above content, why do you think it might be important?
A: I do not have a problem submitting and updating my character. I can see how it would be important, because a lot of OSDs communication is done through the forums, so having the character information freely available allows for events to be organised outside of the game.

Q: If you violate any rules defined within the gaming EULA, you will face disciplinary action up to and including removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule?
A: Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

Q: OSD uses Ventrilo. Our FFXIV Alliance also has access to a very large TeamSpeak Server. Are you familiar with these program? While it is not required that members be in vent/ts while in the game, it will be required when Raiding / End Game and encouraged for regular dungeons. You don't have to speak, just listen. Just having everyone interact will make the run more enjoyable. What are your feelings on this?
A: I am familiar with both those programs. I feel voice communication is a massive advantage in online gaming, and am looking forward to hanging out in the OSD servers.

Q: What time of day do you typically play? How often?
A: I play weekdays after work, if life doesn't get in the way. I am currently living in Japan, so my hours are usually from 1AM PDT until 4AM. Weekends my hours can vary drastically depending on if I am busy or not.

Q: We will be on the Diabolos Server. Does that match your Server Plans?
    A: Yes.

Q: How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you?
A: Having played many MMOs in the past, I have a very firm understanding of MMO mechanics. I am fully capable of helping less experienced players get better at the game. I understand everyone is starting at different skill levels. I have a lot of patience when it comes to helping others out, and believe it is the most rewarding part of playing a MMO. MMOs to me are not just about grabbing the next shiny, even though that's freaking awesome, but about defeating challenges together and improving your play and character over time.

I feel that OSDs RSVP system will allow me to log in and take care of business in a timely manner alongside mature and friendly players. At the same time the casual 'do-it-all' nature of the guild matches with my current approach to playing FFXIV.

Q: OSD is generally a "casual, do it all" guild, meaning we welcome players from all playstyles and don't limit our focus to one playstyle in particular. We welcome PvPers, PvEers, Raiders, Roleplayers, Crafters, etc. For example, while we may offer weekly dungeon runs and/or raids, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires you to participate 5 or 6 nights a week. We also do not consider any one playstyle to be more important than another, all members of OSD are equal. For example, a hardcore PvPer or Raider will never be considered "more valuable" to the than a casual Roleplayer would be. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic?
A: This is exactly what I am looking for. It matches the ideals of the kind of guild I want to join in FFXIV. I have done the hardcore raiding guilds, and I have also been a member of random casual guilds, neither of which would align very well with my time constraints and goals in FFXIV.

Wow! Sounds Like you would be a another great fit with us. From a purely selfish perspective as a WHM primary, another Bard, loving it! Offers some nice options. Permissions look great and have been approved you now have full forum access here. Our Roster list is in the FFXIV section here, all of our officers that can invite you into the FC are posted there just /tell one of them and we can get you in. We had plenty of Ifrit HM farming groups yesterday and I believe people were talking about farming Castrum for the 100 philo per attempt. I think our fastest all guild time record was 40 min on one of our speed runs. We also have the Alliance Teamspeak info posted and of the main FCs involved in that, they were starting to work out details for Raiding consistency. In whatever your time constraints and FFXIV goals, I'm sure we can work together and find out what works best for you and your current playstyle. Can't wait to see you in game. Welcome to the Order of the Silver Dragons!
