Greetings everyone! Below is my questionnaire. I look forward to seeing everyone in game. Thank you for your consideration. Q: What brought you to our website? A: I was browsing through the guild forums on Tamriel Foundry, and found the OSD’s posts to be the most inviting and compatible with my plans in ESO. Q: This recruitment process requires that we get to know you a little bit. Please tell us a little about yourself personally and add in your past MMO experience. A: I’m a 30 year old physics instructor at my local community college in northern Arizona. My primary MMO experience has been WOW from vanilla up to Cataclysm, raiding as a rogue. I also dabbled with SWTOR with the bounty hunter and jedi classes. After a brief hiatus, several friends have lured me back with the release of ESO. I was already hooked after the first beta session I was invited to. Q: What time of day do you typically play? How often? A: In the evenings and on the weekends, depending on my work schedule for the semester. I frequently have three day weekends, since our college schedules fewer classes on Fridays. Q: What kind of character do you typically play? Tell us about your main character, and please list any alts that you will be bringing into the guild as well. A: After several beta sessions, I fell in love with the Templar class. There is something very satisfying about the Aedric Spear line. At the moment I’m going duel wield and dps, but I can easily see myself respecing in the future to maybe incorporate some healing. I may eventually have some alts after I finish leveling my first character. Q: Are you affiliated with any other guilds? A: Not at this time. My old wow guild isn’t interested in ESO, and my small group of friends is considering forming a mini social guild. Otherwise, I’m still a flying solo. Q: What is it you're looking for in a guild? Why do you want to join OSD? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A: Despite being a megaserver, the game can get lonely without others to group with. Having a reliable collection of people to group up for things like 4-5 man dungeons to 12 man raids can make or break an MMO gaming experience. Rather than pugging, I would rather be part of a group that I know everyone can benefit in by participating. Participating in a guild is also essential to ESO’s economy. My current character is specializing in Enchanting and Weaponsmithing. I’d love to get my crafts out there while making sure they are going to people who need them. I’m also a klepto when it comes to games like ESO where I can pick up everything, so I anticipate have a lot of raw materials on hand as well. Q: Our focus in TESO will be fighting for the Ebonheart Pact. Does this match up with your TESO faction plan? A: Yes. With early access, I’ve already started my main character on the Pact. Q: We have found that guild members have a better gaming experience if they use the forums and the events calendar. This allows you to get game information and join guildies in game as a group. Members should RSVP for scheduled events as their real life schedule permits. Creating events is good for the community and is encouraged whenever possible. What are your thoughts on this? A: Without knowing how ESO is handling guild communications, I totally agree. It’s just practical. Players are not always in game all the time, and being able to prepare for raids or other events is essential. This way players can plan their real lives while getting weapons, enchants, food, etc ready. This would also prevent the frustration that comes from having too few people show up to an event or having conflicting events. If there’s no interest, an even can easily be cancelled or rescheduled, allowing those who did sign up to focus on other things. Q: OSD is generally a "casual, do it all" guild, meaning we welcome players from all playstyles and don't limit our focus to one playstyle in particular. We welcome PvPers, PvEers, Roleplayers, Crafters, etc. For example, while we may offer weekly raids, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires you to raid 5 or 6 nights a week. We also do not consider any one playstyle to be more important than another, all members of OSD are equal. For example, a hardcore PvPer will never be considered "more valuable" to the guild than a casual Roleplayer would be. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: While I have a background in raiding, I’m all for the occasional PVP and casual play. Plus, the way ESO’s economy sounds like it is designed, this style of guild may be the most essential for success. There will be need for pvp-ers to take and defend the keeps to claim a public guild store, and pve-ers to fill that store with raw materials and crafted goods with raiders acquiring the high level items people will want to buy. Most likely, pigeonholing a guild into one flavor of hardcore gaming will not work in this MMO. Q: With the previous question in mind...We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role, or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: There’s nothing wrong with spontaneous adventure. Moreover, the best laid plans can change. Someone who RSVP’ed may not be able to make it, while someone who did not might find the time to log on. Also, I’d be a little disappointed if I was not needed during a guild event. Q: If you violate any rules defined within the gaming EULA, or the OSD Code of Conduct you will face disciplinary action up to and including removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A: Yep. Q: Is bacon awesome? Why? A: No, bacon is not simply awesome. It is epic, if not legendary. Since multiple religions consider it a sin to consume any form of this porcine decadence, it is on par with ambrosia from the gods. Something Daedric Princes would kill for.
I couldn't agree more! Those Daedric Princes can have my soul but they cannot have my bacon! Your application has been reviewed and accepted. Welcome to the guild! When you get a chance you should check out this page for useful information. It's a big site and it's easy to get lost as a new member, hell I get lost from time to time. And Seldonia, that's FOUR now!
