    Primary Character Class: Elven Ranger

Character Back Story: After adventuring out of my Home city and after spending many years in the forest honing my skills as a Ranger, I was hired on as a lead scout for a Goblin hunting party. I despise Goblins more than anything; Goblin Raids had been steadily increasing so I was assigned to a group of 20 soldiers. My group was fairly successful in eliminating most of the goblin hordes we came across. One of the last raids I was involved with I ended up rescuing a Halfling Rogue by the name of Foogah (which recently applied for admittance through your gates). The story he tells is he was captured after trying to steal the chieftains Ruby scepter. He has been a loyal companion for the last several years. Working together we have defeated many evils and saved many a poor travelers besieged by brigands and evil demons. I am a loyal soul seeking safe haven and wish to join a strong group who wishes to vanquish evil as much as I do.

Hail gatekeeper and Magistrates. I go on bended knee before you and pledge my bow and sword to you. <kneels and bows head with raised bow out-stretched>

    What say you?

Give us a little bio about yourself:

I have been Playing D&D off and on for about 25 years. I DM for awhile which was fun and interesting perspective on the game. I have read many Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance novels which spiked my imagination and interest even more. I am in my late 30’s; I'm married and have 2 kids. I've played Baulders Gate, Neverwinter nights, and Starwars Galaxies. Starwars was the first game that introduced me to online gaming with similar minded people. I loved it. I picked up Guildwars and this increased my love of the online Role-playing games. I played the 10-day beta for DDO and participated in a few stress-test events. I can't wait to explore this game and become full immersed in it.

What are your in-game goals? How do you like to play these on-line games? Others will have more questions for you, I'm sure. Come sit in our tavern and get to know us.

Ah Brelan, good to see you my friend. The guards are wise and strong. So I hope they will respect you as much as I do.

To the Guards, I have battled and quested with this one before and his arrows and eye's are as sharp as any i have seen. I have even seen this one shoot 3 arrows at one time. As for traps not so good, then what would he need with me <grin> . As for a sharp tongue this one has a habbit of yelling some thing like Boom just when I am tring to disarm a trap.

I am a role-player by heart. To me role-playing is the thrill of the game. Your able to take a step out of reality and immerse yourself for a short while in another world.

As far as goals in-game, I want an almost impossible quest to challenge my intellectually. This quest would require all the skills of the group and make the group work together to achieve its goal. Using everyone's strength and abilities to aid in the total success. In doing this, I think I will find others like myself who enjoy the role-playing aspect.

The guild should be a source of support. Should you need assitance in achieve an objective or need information, the Guild is the place you turn to. Like wise, if fellow guildmates ask for help or knowledge I am there to support the best that I can. As an example, in Star wars galaxies Game, based upon my character, I ran the merchant/vendor part of the guild. I gave rights to those that wanted to sell items and steered the guilds merchant group in a direction that helped improve sales and brought people to the city. Because of how I role-played my character, it was an interesting experieince, but also allowing me to help the guild while I had fun. My hopes are to do the same here in DDO, find my niche, role-play my character, have fun and contribute to the guild.

Welcome Brelan...your application mirrors so many already inside our gates, including my own. What served did you play SWG on? Have you played the beta and if so how do you compare this game to others you have played?

"Here! Here! A most welcome and like minded soul." The tribal warrior gives the elven ranger a strong slap on the back. "I shall prepare a skewer and pit as to roast some of the fine game kept in our stores. Please share another fine tale of adventure as I do so, good elf."

    Welcome Brelan,

Often I would let a new applicant stew for awhile to test his mettle, but seeing that we are about to enter a state of war and will turn our attention to sharpening weapons and memorizing spells. I think I will throw caution to the wind and ask for a quick vote on you.

So Dragons I think he will do, but what say you? Aye or Nay? Does he stay or should I show him back to the road?

    question for the applicant!

move a way! give him some room...

multiple choice... and if i could put bubbles on here and ask you to use only a no. 2 pencil... i probably would... cause that would be funny...

    1. how would you LIKE to traverse dungeons (no matter how many times youve done that particular dungeon)

    a. so slow that not even voice chat can keep your companions awake
    b. slow enough to stay alive and enjoy the scenery, perhaps even stop the group and tell them to turn up their graphics so they can see this cool light effect
    c. a decent pace, not slowing the group, but giving people time to do what they need, whether it be trading after getting loot from a chest, or waiting for a trap to be disabled even though everyone can make it past alive (hurt but alive)
    d. fast, do what needs to be done, if the optional quests are easy enough, do those too, get the loot, the the xp and get out
    e. warp speed - loot means nothing compared to xp, if you get left behind yo better stay alive.... waterworks, all 4 parts done in less than 1 hr
    f. none of the above - please explain in essay form

"C" be my answer. I want to enjoy the time and let others take the time they need. To my this is about the journey. Everything else is icing on the cake.

Hail Falstaff, I noticed your home is close to mine. Foogah and myself have adventured for many a year fighting evil. I make my Home in South Elgin. Where is it you call home?

I am located in Elf Grove Village...but actually work really really close to where you reside. I work in Elgin, and used to live there as a matter of fact.

It would be fun Joining swords and toasting ale to a guildmate that lives so close. That is, if I am accepted.
