A: My RL name is Mike, I'm 32 years old, married with 3 kids in their mid 20's and a 5yr old grandaughter with a second one on the way. (yes i've been a busy man) I currently work two jobs but still make time for some casual gaming. The main character most here know me as is Daggorr from the old EQ1 days in the crystalline waters guild. My wife Kym also played with us then under her character Persefoni and her best friend DD also played with us as Tymbir. I know DD has gone on to play with griff and others in other games while i dropped off the face of the planet playing WOW and later Eve online and world of tanks. Q: We have found that guild members have a better gaming experience if they use the forums and the events calender. This allows you to get game information and join guildies in events as your real life time permits. Do you intend on being active on our website forums and events calendar? A: No two ways about it, I'm a complete forum whore. I work from home during my primary job so i hang out and post very often, since my in game time cand be random this allowes me to keep up to date on information and make the most of my playtime when i do make it on. Q: Once you learn how, we would like you to create events or RSVP for other scheduled events as your real life schedule permits. What are your thoughts on this? A: I absolutely love it. Since my second job changed schedules every week this is one of the main ways i can get groups together and find others with like playtimes to make events happen. Q: Have you been playing MMO's for a while, or are you just getting started? A: I've been playing MMO's since back in the day when they were text based. I met my wife in gemstone 3 and have played msot of the notable MMO's aside from Eq2, (after EQ1 sony really left a bad taste in my mouth) But i've played EQ1, DAoC, AC2, WoW, Eve online, World of tanks, Lord of the rings and probably a few other small ones i can't remember. Q: We expect all members to submit and update their characters in our website roster. Are you okay with this? After reading the above content, why do you think it might be important? A: An accurate and up to date guild roster is important to maintain a healthy roster of reliable characters. It also helps to know whos alt is who to avoid all manner of issues. Q: What kind of character do you typically play? Tell us about your main character, and please list any alts that you will be bringing into the guild as well. (Note: We understand that you may not have finalized your character plans for SWTOR yet, as the game has not yet launched. Please give us your tentative plans for the time being. No worries if they change by launch.) A: I really feel at home playing just about anything I've played every posisble type of character over the years. This time around i'm going back to my roots and choosing the "rogue" like class of smuggler. Not entirely sure if i want to go scoundrel or gunslinger yet, but in the starwars lore i've always thought of myself as a corellian character. I tend to be a min/maxer as well as a game mechanics nut so I'll tend to train my character towards its strengths and plan out upgrades and training paths far ahead of my actual level. Once the game releases or i get some beta access i can probably give some better detail. Q: If you violate any rules defined within the gaming EULA, you will face disciplinary action up to and including removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A: It makes perfect sense and I approve of strict discipline regarding the EULA Q: What time of day do you typically play? How often? A: random times during the day if job 1 has some slow downtime. most often after midnight central time when i get off from job 2 and then also randomly on weekends when i'm off and dont have errands. Q: Are you affiliated with any other guilds? A: Formerly a Raid leader and officer with crystalline waters in EQ1. Q: How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A: despite my goofy avalability when i'm online I try to make things happen. I always befriend several in and out of guild friends to have a list of possible groupmates for various things and I i particularly excel at taking groups that should absolutely and utterly fail and finding a creative way to make things work. Oh there will be panic, likely several deaths and some youtube-able hilarity but in the end we will win and have innovative new strategies. Q: Our focus in SWTOR will be fighting for the Republic on an RP-PvP server, or an RP-PvE server if there are no RP-PvP servers available. Does this match up with your SWTOR faction and server plans? A: RP servers always have a better caliber of players in my past experiance, while i would prefer a pvp server i can work with pve if thats the only option. Q: OSD is generally a "casual, do it all" guild, meaning we welcome players from all playstyles and don't limit our focus to one playstyle in particular. We welcome PvPers, PvEers, Roleplayers, Crafters, etc. For example, while we may offer weekly raids, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires you to raid 5 or 6 nights a week. We also do not consider any one playstyle to be more important than another, all members of OSD are equal. For example, a hardcore PvPer will never be considered "more valuable" to the guild than a casual Roleplayer would be. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: This is exactly the setting i'm looking for right now. I mainly want to hang out with some good friends and take part in groups/raids/etc when its possible and theres room. Q: With the previous question in mind...We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short a particular class, or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank specced Jedi Knight, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. Are you okay with this?
