What brought you to our website? Sprig did. Though he's more of a "he" than a "what." This recruitment process requires that we get to know you a little bit. Tell us about yourself. I graduated from university this year, and upon graduation, chose to plunge myself into the depths of MMORPG-ing as an alternative to getting a real job. But it didn't work, because I wound up with two jobs - both involving 3D modeling and computer graphics - ontop of an AoC addiction. To me, the biggest appeal of the MMO is the art/graphics side of things, because creating new content sure beats the grind, imho. While still in school, I had the chance to work on a few 3D games, and I'd consider a title like "concept artist" or "graphic artist" or "animator" at Funcom or Turbine to be a possible future career goal. Do you enjoy Role Playing in-game? Generally, the most RP-ing I do is acting sweet, pretending like I don't have a five-page KoS list. Which online game interests you? (AoC or DDO) AoC; no experience with DDO apart from watching my boyfriend play it for 8 hours at a time. We expect all of our AoC players to use Ventrilo while they are in game. Is this ok with you? Yes, though I've never used it before. Do you intend on being active on our website forums and Events Calendar? I can try, though I'm a woman of few words (I know, every man's dream.) Once you learn how, we want you to create events or RSVP other scheduled events as your RL schedule permits. What are your thoughts on this? By "creating events," do you mean "creating character portraits for guild members?" If so, I'm all for it (since this is pretty much the only thing I know how to do.) How frequent do you figure on creating an event for others to participate in? You comfortable promoting these events in the Ventrilo and/or guild chat channels? Honestly, I'm not really the best person to do this. Example: "Hi guild! Tea party in Fields of the Dead @ 2 pm! BYO Thick Ape Bile!" See? Have you been playing MMO's for a while or are you just getting started? AoC is my first MMO, and Spore will be my second... Do you feel comfortable with the website and it's resources? Very comfortable. In fact, when I say to my boyfriend, "Let me slip into something a little more comfortable," what I actually mean is that I'm slipping off to go read OSD forums. We expect all players to submit and update their characters in our website ROSTER. Are you ok with this? After reading the above content, why do you think it might be important? That's fine. It's probably "to correlate people in game with people on Vent/on the forums." Thanks Sprig! What kind of character do you typically play? Tell us about your main character? My main character is a L50 Guardian named Coyotl (Nahuatl for 'coyote') whose personality is supposed to reflect the traditional Aztec view of the coyote as a chaotic, mischevious joker, whose tricks often backfire when she winds up in a quest much higher than her own level. If you violate ANY rules defined within the gaming EULA you will be removed from this community. You ok with this? Yes o.o; What time of day do you typically play? How often? Generally between 9-Noon, and sometimes in the afternoons (on Sprig's account while he's at work in "Real Life.") Are you affiliated with any other guilds? Nope. How do you think you can best help this community? I can draw stuff. Sometimes I draw pictures; other times, I draw aggro. Once in a while I'll even draw a conclusion. One thing's for sure - you can draw on my skills should you ever need them. Which of the characters listed in your forum signature (see STEP 3) do you play the most? What level is your main character? The only character I play currently is Coyotl, my L50 Guardian. Like I said, I like to draw, so here is a portrait of her... WARNING: NSFW (Non-single female white)... You won't get to see the rest unless you accept me to the guild! We are an Argonnessen Server guild within Dungeons and Dragons Online. Do you play on this server? For Age of Conan we play on the Cimmeria server. Do you play on this server? You betcha. For Age of Conan, we require that your are familiar with our Guild Structure and Advancement described here (Age of Conan Guild Advancement). Are your prepared for your journey to Vassal? Tell us what you think of this quest ahead of you? Sounds like fun! See you in the guild city!
Great application hehe! We won't hold you being affiliated with Sprigley's Chewing Gum and its creater Master Spriggles against ya. *hides from Sprig* Hope to see you ingame soon and yays another guardian, now i don't have to stare at bryce , junkets or sooks knobby knees all day on the front lines!
Great App! had me smiling the whole way through. Affiliation with Sprig isn't a BAD thing but it's not encouraged either.... Looking forward to meeting you in game.
Nice! Im glad you finally decided to join us!! But You are on Sprig's account you say? Who are we gonna meet you in game since Spig tells us he's in charge in the home
Ok from now on all applications must be accompanied by a picture of either; 1) Half nekkit chick. 2) Nekkit chick. Can you put that in the application page Souk? Thank you. (And welcome to our wee website...Im Bee, Im on the DDO side of things.../cheer!)
Great application, Welcome to the order, and please don't mind the fact that we're all mostly insane (especially Sprig, but you already knew that, didn't you?) Just a sidenote: Spore isn't an MMO. according to its creator, its a massively singleplayer online game. 0.o looks cool though.
I especially like the boots! What are the stats on those....? =) Got your access approved both citizen and AoC-wise. All ya gotta do now is set-up our vent (I'm sure Sprig can help ya) and get an in-game invite from an officer. Welcome to the Guild!
Great app, nice responces. A fellow atrist, i envy you. Ive been throwing my talent away it seems, havent sketch anything in 3 years =(. Anyhow welcome to the guild and if ya need any help let me know.
Welcome to the hell pit that is our family. I am sure you have looked over Sprig's shoulders and wondered why oh why would I submit myself to this rabble band of retards and misfits? I don't have that answer for you but, I am sure your gonna regret us. *grins* That sketch you drawn is very nice. I hope to see more. But, please put some more clothing on the girl. I don't want any wicked thoughts about you especially since sprig is your main squeeze. It would be like fantasizing about your brothers girlfriend *shivers*. LOL
Vassal's Quest I As soon as the Dragons accepted her as their own, Coyotl set sail on her pilgrimage to the noble city of the Silver Dragons. Upon reaching the shores of Aquilonia, it took her several days of riding, but Coyotl finally reached the vast city walls. She made her way inside, climbed atop the grand Keep, and gazed proudly into the sunset.
Vassal's Quest II Now officially a Silver Dragon, Coyotl found herself hungry for adventure. She rallied a team of fellow dragons and sought out the most fearsome beast she could find. What she found was more horrifiying than she could ever have imagined. The battle lasted many hours, but in the end, the Dragons prevailed triumphantly.
Vassal's Quest III The gilded band of warriors set off ever northward, seeking further adventures. What they found was a massive structure in the round; an Amphitheatre of sorts. Crazed and ghoulish screams could be heard echoing inside. Fueled by their fears and their lust for loot, Caer, Sprig, Kutuk, Shayden, and Ahgrin fought their way inside. But to their surprise, the Amphitheater was not full of beasts who wished them the most unimaginable of harm. Rather, it was populated by lonely souls who merely wanted to make friends! Here, a Guardian Fiend offers them an olive branch of friendship. And here, our adventurers engage in a rousing game of laser tag with The Devourer! Oh, and there were many snuggly kitties who just wanted a rub behind the ears! So cute ^_^ Before they left, the Dragons made sure to get a group shot with Davy Jones.
Vassal's Quest IV On her adventures elsewhere, Coyotl has stumbled upon a number of tidbits of information which have benefitted the Dragons. For example, she picked up an interesting stinger from a scorpion carcass, which fetched a pretty penny when she brought it back to town.
Vassal's Quest V Just recently, Coyotl has aided her commerades against the fearsome Vistrix. Within no time at all, the beast lay heaving at the feet of the warriors. Coyotl made sure to document her presence at the event.
Vassal's Quest VI Ah, so ye wish to hear a funny story? Has Coyotl told you of the time she lost her ship? No? Well a little backstory first... Coyotl was raised by a merchant family in distant and mysterious lands, "where isles of pearl on azure seas float in a dreamy maze." From her youth, she was a sea-farer, learning early the ways of trade and traveling from isle to isle with her father and mother, rarely settling and without one town to call home. Upon reaching her nineteenth year, Coyotl's father commissioned a ship to give to her as a gift. With this ship, christened the Pistipyollotli, she set out on her own to continue the family trade in farther corners of the world. One evening, she found herself at the docks of Old Tarantia, a major inland trade hub, able to be reached only via the Khorotas River. Alone, she sat on her ship, gazing at the bustling activity on the docks. The sun began to dwindle in the sky. With her crew on shore leave and little to bide her time with, she arose to go exploring in the city. Quietly padding along dim alleyways, she came across a sign reading "Green Man Tavern." As she craned her neck to peer down the adjacent alley, the warm glow of candles greeted her eyes. "Don't mind if I do!" she thought to herself. She approached the tavern, the door giving a soft creak as she made her way inside. Small pockets of townsfolk filled various corners of the tavern. Busty, rotund ale-wives shoved their way past rowdy drunks, each carrying a half dozen overflowing steins in their thick fingers. A moderate din of chatter and the musk of tobacco smoke struck Coyotl's senses in contrast to the cool and fresh evening air outside. Silently, she made her place at a table in the far corner of the room. Within a mere two hours, she had done her share of work on a table-full of ales. She remembered little after that. The next morning, she found herself on the deck of her ship. Something was not exactly right, though in her hungover state, she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
Vassal's Quest VII I hope you've enjoyed hearing about some of the adventures of Coyotl. I'll answer the final question on a RL note - if I was a character in Hyboria, this is what I would be (I think no further explanation is necessary):
