Q. Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us, and do you currently have characters playing in game? If so what are their names? Which realm? Which platform? A. Black Desert Online. Started a Musa(named Carolius) the other day to give the game a try and am liking it so far. I also have characters in Rift, TERA, SWTOR, and Blade and Soul. All with the same name. Q. This is the getting to know you portion of the questionnaire. Please tell us a little about yourself. (Hobbies?Family? Pets? School? Work? Any super hero or super villain abilities, nefarious schemes we should know about?) A. I'm a long time MMO player. My first was UO, shortly followed by DAOC and Shadowbane(my all time favorite). This should give you a general idea of my age *smile*. Hobbies are reading and painting miniatures for wargames(although I don't actually play them much). I work 6 days a week and am generally avail for games(relaxation) from 5 EST till whenever. Q. Why do you want to join OSD? What is it you are looking for in a guild? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A. I'm currently looking to learn a new game with like-minded folk. I've done the whole hardcore PVP thing and my last major guild was a hardcore progression guild. Neither of which I am looking for at this time. From your CoC, you guys are exactly the type I prefer to associate with in game. I'm always willing to help out anyone at any time and my main focus is to learn more about this game. I'm kind of overwhelmed at the moment at the extreme amount of stuff that BDO seems to offer. Q - What led you to our website and ultimately to filling out this application? (Which friend? Website? In game ad? Psychic magnetism?) A. I found you guys on the BDO guild forums and your CoC caught my interest immediately. Q. What is your typical game play schedule like? Please include times and time zones. A. M, Tu, Wed, and Fri - 5EST till whenever Thur and Sat 12 EST till whenever Sun no restrictions Q. What is the best game you have ever played and why? A. Shadowbane. Totally open world with the exception of the main cities. Players and guilds could build their own cities and had to defend them. Open PvP of that sort required people to either behave politely or have the might to back it up. Q. What platforms do you usually game on? If not just a PC, which consoles? A. PC only Q. Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played for? A. UO, DAOC, Shadowbane, Warhammer Online, AION, DCUO, Rift, TERA, SWTOR, AoC, Lineage 2, Guild Wars 2 , BDO, Blade and Soul,... honestly, it would probably be easier to make a list of ones I didn't play. Q. What is your favorite part of an MMO and why? (Leveling, PvP, raiding, community, roleplaying, crafting, achievements, exploration, etc) A. Raiding. I like conquering a hard boss and getting new shiny gear. I'm just not into it quite in the sense that my old guild was in say... Rift where the fights are so tuned that if my DPS was 200 pts lower than usual I get asked what was going on that day and missing one of the 2 raid days that week was an entirely unthinkable offense. Q. Are there any future MMO's or multiplayer games you're interested in playing? A. I honestly just came off a 6 month or so break from MMOs. I have no idea of any other MMOs coming down the pipe. Q. OSD is more than just a guild in a single game. We are a community of gamers that come together through the forums and Teamspeak. Do you plan on being active on the forums and use TS? What are your thoughts on using event calendars on the forums to coordinate guild events? A. I could not honestly imagine not using some sort of VOIP. I am both a lazy typer and like talk while playing. Let alone during a raid or PvP. Q. OSD has earned and prides itself on a reputation of respect, maturity and integrity. Please read the OSD CODE OF CONDUCT. If you violate any of these rules you jeopardize the reputation of our community and will face disciplinary action up to, and including, removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A. 100% Q. We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time, you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. What are your thoughts on this topic? A. Never a problem unless RL intrudes. Q. Pretend you are raiding with the guild and after the final boss fight an uber fantastic, stupendous, ultra rare, sparkly item drops. Who do you think should receive this item and why? A. I generally prefer that sort of thing be decided before even stepping into the instance/raid(DKP, rolling, or whatever everyone decides on). Some exceptions are always there like some crazy piece of tank gear drops the official guild MT needs and will make all further aquisition of shinys faster for everyone =) Q. Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A Bacon, shrimp, avacado and cream cheese rolled into a sushi log and sliced.
Thanks for your interest. Due to declining numbers in our BDO division, we are in the process of winding it down to what we call a semi-active division. As such I would not recommend joining at this time. Our most active divisions at present are FFXIV and ESO.
Carolius I saw that you completed an application for Black Desert Online, that division is not currently an active division with in OSD was their any other gaming communities within OSD that you are interested in?
