    - What brought you to our website?

I'm returning to actively playing AoC on Cimmeria and OSD is an old name I knew and liked. Google was invoked. Links were poked.

    - This recruitment process requires that we get to know you a little bit. Tell us about yourself.

I'm 34, male, a professional writer in Los Angeles. I grew up in New England but came to the West Coast for law school and forgot to leave.

    - Do you enjoy Role Playing in-game?

I've had my moments, given the right context (basically, others who just charge ahead with it). I was in The Guardians back in 2008-early 2009. We did a lot of RP events, especially RP-PVP.

    - Which online game interests you? (AoC or DDO) We expect all of our AoC players to use Ventrilo while they are in game. Is this ok with you?

    AoC. Ventrilo is A-OK.

    - Do you intend on being active on our website forums and Events Calendar?

    I like forums lots.

    - Once you learn how, we want you to create events or RSVP other scheduled events as your RL schedule permits. What are your thoughts on this? How frequent do you figure on creating an event for others to participate in? You comfortable promoting these events in the Ventrilo and/or guild chat channels?

I'm a little hazy on the current expansion and raid content but I'd definitely like to get in a couple extra (non-raid/etc.) events a week. Being the one starting those events doesn't hurt my feelings a bit.

    - Have you been playing MMO's for a while or are you just getting started?

I played CoH/CoX mostly in 2003-2004, WoW 2004-2007, AoC from launch (though I've been on a long semi-break playing other games and leveling AoC alts).

    - Do you feel comfortable with the website and it's resources?

No, it's looking at me funny.

Err, yes. I like the calendar especially.

    - We expect all players to submit and update their characters in our website ROSTER. Are you ok with this? After reading the above content, why do you think it might be important?

Helps with knowing who is coming to events. Puts some "faces" to the character names. Gives a sense of class balance and trends.

    - What kind of character do you typically play? Tell us about your main character?

I've got several 80s from the last two years and I've been playing alts the last few months, but my HoX(es) are definitely my favorites and the bulk of my time /played. I usually only play one character at a time, and plan to settle with my HoX for a while again now that I'm returning to raiding and regular play.

    - If you violate ANY rules defined within the gaming EULA you will be removed from this community. You ok with this?

    Absolutely.

    - What time of day do you typically play? How often?

Usually after 7pm Pacific. I'm available any night except Thursday. I usually end up playing 3-4 nights a week and sometimes during the day on Sat and Sun. I also occasionally log on in early mornings (Pacific) for a couple hours to level or craft. All this is subject to change (other than basic availability) depending on how structured your event schedule is.

    - Are you affiliated with any other guilds?

No. Every guild I join dies due to one thing or the other. Major guilds. You shouldn't let me in. I'm bad luck. You've been warned.

    - How do you think you can best help this community?

I'm pretty active on forums if there's a community there. I'm a creative thinker when it comes to organizing events, marketing, etc. I'm not a true hardcore MMO player at the moment (I was in WoW) but I know my characters extremely well and do very well on parses and in PVP once I know where the heck I'm going.

    - Which of the characters listed in your forum signature (See STEP 3) do you play the most? What level is your main character?

My HoX, Bladine, is the only character that I intend to play actively. I've been leveling alts mostly on Wiccana lately.

    - For Age of Conan we play on the Cimmeria server. Do you play on this server?

I played here exclusively until about a year ago, when yet another of my Cimmeria guilds imploded and some of the cooler players reformed on Wiccana to get away from the culture here on Cimm. I followed them over, but we were a PVP/sieging-centric melee guild and all the siege bugs and casters killed the guild. I went semi-active at that point. :( I have played mostly on Wiccana since then but just because I wasn't really active enough to hold my own in a guild or in PVP at that point.

    - For Age of Conan, we require that you are familiar with our Guild Structure and Advancement described here (Age of Conan Guild Advancement). Are you prepared for your journey to Vassal? Tell us what you think of this quest ahead of you?

I'm a big fan of the quest idea, if you're serious about it. We used to bandy around ideas for a long acclimation "quest" for new TG members. It helps with commitment/investment in the guild, and it can help build some connections.

I found your app pleasant to read. Please rewrite and be sure to include some abbreviations, slang, and acronyms. Lots of numbers and symbols where there should be letters is also highly recommended. This should be a painful process yet you're not doing your part. I find this highly disappointing.

    Thank you.

sry, didnt kno if u spoke teh jive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymMBEwtRZOg :)

Hey, does OSD have formal PVP allies? Just curious. PVP policy says no, I think, but the Cimm forum has a thread saying yes.

Also, how is class balance in the guild? I was planning on making my grand return to my HoX, but I'm not married to the idea at all. I have a few 80s, and if you're full on HoXes or short on something else, I very much like playing what's needed. E.g., the game's caster population seems to be way down from when I last played seriously; I don't have a lot of those, but I level quickly, so if you were really short on demos or something, let me know. Otherwise, back to heart-eating I go...

HoX is pretty safe IMO.. we have quite a few.. but at the same time, not so many. The main guiding rule is "Play what you like". I think most of the players with 80 HoX's are up in T3+ raiding.. but also play their other 80's more.. as needed.

I play a HoX.. but we were running slim on healers and had a PoM I ran up to 80 (for better or worse).. always good to have a healer in your stable IMO..

    Welcome Bladine, nice App.

As other have said, feeding the Ngozi will bring you nothing but bad karma. Do so at your own risk... :)

As for everything else, everyone has pretty much covered it. I stress this one more time though. Play what you want to play. We are pretty well rounded with classes but are sometimes short a healer (that is if I am being testy and won't switch to my ToS) but it's usually corrected quickly. One thing you will notice about OSD is that we are a bunch of altaholics. Yes, I think that should be a word added to the MMO dictionary.

Welcome aboard. I think you will find yourself quite happy to be here and that regardless of what's going on in RL you will find yourself wanting to log in to make fun of Passed. It's tradition.

My first 80 main was a BS; she's still on Cimmeria. I played her pretty hard for the first few months of the game, but set her aside to level a HoX during the gem-stacking days and then never went back. Maybe I'll dust her off again someday.

I'll see you all in-game soon.

Due to an event at work and an upcoming competition outside of work, I haven't been on much. I'm actually thinking of canceling my AoC for a month to avoid the distraction. Terrible timing, I know. I should be back on my computer more once this event at work is past; training for the competition will peak for a couple months longer but that will only run into my evening playtimes once a week. PM me or post if there's a problem!

Hope things clear up for you soon. You should now have access to the guild forums, so in the meantime, feel free to post and keep up with the community when time permits. :)
