Asking admitance into the stronghold

Cantrip wasn't sure what was going on...but he knew he had to get out quick. This was no ordinary job.

"What have I gotten myself into this time? Can i do this?"

As Cantrip dangled from the roof ledge by a thin elven chord he had stolen, he carefully manipulated the traps on the windowsill and clicked open the lock with grace that not many could imagine...

As he slipped inside he partially reset the trap. "That will get them..."

Sneaking inside he saw his goal...a little book no bigger than a writing journal. Dusty and beat up, he really isn't sure what's so special about it.

"If I die for this..."

As he lifts the book, there is a loud CLICK... "Ahhh, how stupid. What's wrong with me."

As magical fire and ice burst forth from the walls Cantrip falls flat on the floor and begins to wiggle under the flames of ice and fire back to the door, until he touches something cold and lifeless. When he looks the fires stop and a giant golem brought to life by the magical energy raises his foot for the killing blow...

One quick incantation and grease covers the floor as Cantrip gets up and makes a run for the window...Standing ther he says, "Never underestimate my cunning you lifeless pile of junk...We have our ways."

As he taunts the golem gets up and charges to the window. A quick flick of the rist and Cantrip is on the roof running for the next...

The golem reaches the window and BOOM!!!! an explosion rips the side of the wall out and the golem plummets thirty stories to the icy river below....

(Guess the golem never saw Cantrip reactivate the trap)

....

The next day Cantrip doesn't bring the book back for his promised riches, but instead drops by to speak to Blix. Anytime Cantrip is intrigued my something obviously magical he brings it to his good friend... Upon inspection Blix discovers that it is a lost tome of the first rogue to walk Eberron.

"Hmmm....I see" Cantrip wispers. "Thanks Blix".

He leaves with a wry grin on his face and proceeds to the wizardry shop down the block....

Later that night Cantrip finally finds his employer in the dank sewers that run under Stormreach. "I have your book...and now you give me my reward."

As the Bugbear hands Cantrip a sack full of gems he gives the book up...

A few seconds later Cantrip nor the Bugbear are to be seen....

As Cantrip sits in a dark alley he pulls a tiny book from one of his many secret pockets..."Hmmm, now let me see exactly what this does."

For all those out there who do not know me...this is Cantrip Surestrike--rogue at heart and friend to all with full pockets.

First and formost i want to thank all the guys who I had the opportunity to group with last night...Blix, Papasan, Yynrdrofian, Tale, and Troop...couldn't have done VON3 with another group (trust me, ive been stuck on it for a long time). Well, I would have to say those are 5 people that had a nice 312 min. grouping with me and got to know me a little better. In the past I have grouped with Papasan (when i first started the game) and Blix. As far as other guild members...I'm not quite sure. I would hate to put a name i recognize and then me not actually have grouped with them.

I'm also asking Blix to be my sponser and vouch for me. Since he first approached me with Yndrofian, and since Yndrofian is getting some much needed sleep, Blix it would be my honor...

For Wyvern (whom i believe ive grouped with once) these are for your 3:30 rant...

I want to join the Order of the Silver Dragon becuase at level 9 i've yet to have a large group of friends to play with...currently I play with a small group of people who share my playing interests, and from how VON3 was played, yalls as well. It's hard to find people that are willing to help out, share, be friendly, and do for others. Yndrofian showed me what you guys exemplify last night. (hope you got some sleep)...most people would have quite after the 50th run back into VON and the multiple tries and fails at killing the end boss. Without the group last night I am possitive i would still be on VON3.

This is my first MMO that i have serously played. My brother has been into them for a really long time...saying that i have dabled with his games and watched many a "sit down" sessions. For myself, i have been playing pen and paper D&D for about 7 years now. The best time in my life. Group of friends just kickin back having a good time. I can do the same on DDO (now that im in college i don't get to play pen and paper with them very often).

Pacing in a dungeon i find irrelivent...you can only go as fast as the slowest person. Some people don't move as fast...some want to break every barrel...thats COOL with me...sometimes im in those moods. Hey, and either way they are earning me more XP...nothing to complain about. It also depens on the quest...if i do VON3 again, i want to be in and out. Just depends...

In the real world...i am a full time college student at the University of Alabama--Birmingham... I am a Forensic chemistry major with a minor in justice science... I am musically inclined and enjoy playing trumpet. I surf (when im at home...i live at the beach), hunt, fish, mud ride, and all that other stereotypical redneck stuff...ohh girls are a nice hobby too...their ok right Blix? :wink:

I get on DDO almost every night for about 3-8 hrs...once school starts back up, etc. times will definitely change...but im usually on everynight, or i at least get on and chat for a few with some people...sell stuff, etc.

I hope that this guild offers exactly what i saw the other night...i just want some cool people to group with...so much time is wasted just standing around in the game becuse of horrible pugs or nobody you know is on. It's also nice to know that other people are WILLING to help you...i do the same...

Wyvern platinum or cash....hahahahaha....you think a greedy little rogue is gonna give you a copper piece....we're the type that take your platinum and then get into the guild without you knowing....lol....NO I WILL NOT BRIBE YOU WYVERN QUITE ASKING ME!!!! Hehehehehehe...

Well, as far as characters go...i have a couple pack mules of course...we halflings are pack rats...my main character is obiously Cantrip Surestrike (8rogue/1fighter)...my other alt. that i actrually play is Narthok Devlekar (4 cleric)... i love them both...

I'm hooked on DDO and in it for the long haul...as long as everything goes ok...you never know what jsut might happen...but im paying for it so im playing it.

I hope you guys are the stepping stones to my last guild...this whole guild search thing tires me...i just want a good grp of men and women who i can stay with... As far as how many guilds i've been in...this (if i get in) will really be the first biggy...i joined one tiny one just becuase i was a level 1 charcter and then dropped becuase my guild leader wasn't even ever on...i was the player in that guild...lol...as of now Pogram, Shaherra, Rheinen, and I are in Lords of Meat which is our little grp of what we think are good players...We made it to keep in touch so we could grp...nothing serious like this...

My favorite DDO experience would have to be when i jumped off the top of house Deneith to see how far i could go with my feathe fall ring on...it was fun...as far as actually playing, when someone gave me my first weapon that was not crappy, it was a +1 frost longsword i was like a giddy school girl...my cha. stinks and i couldn't pull anything...lol

As far as worst experiences go...i think my new worst experince happens everytime i grp in a pug and have to drp...i hate to do it, but sometimes there is no other choice...they HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER...if not...im out...so no one experience just a conglamoration of them.

As far as forums go...i would love to be active...never been in a forum before so would love to try it out...it's jjust an e-mail type thing, and being in college im used to that so i would love to voice things on forums.

I only speak english and im from Foley, Alabama...but go to college in Birmingham, Alabama...ITS THE DEEP SOUTH...i normally play at night from 6pm-2am

lol, they were talking about last night on the other boards, Grats on finishing it. I don't know if I could have hung in there that long or that late for that matter. I bet Yndro is dead on his feet at work today.

Indeed welcome to the gates! yndro said somewhere else in the forums that you would make your appearence at the gates.... he has great skills in forseeing the truth say I!

heh, sounds like a great job you pulled in VoN, and if I ever need a helping hand with items smaller than plates/axes then I won't hesitate on calling for your aid
you on the other should not hesitate if you ever find yourselves in need of someone to take the scratches from all those nasty evil beings look for Vra outthere...

Hey Cantrip Welcome to the gates. I know from earlier you survived the lack of sleep like myself, Blix & Yndro from last night. I know you were impressed that we stuck to it & finished VON3 considering the Circumstance. You know bugged quest, sleep depervation, & the stress of dealing with the stench of all of us in a dungeon for 6.5 hrs. Or maybe it was Ynro, I don't know kept falling asleep. :twisted:
Anyway, Back to my point. I know I was impressed, as well the resty of the dragonslast night, that you stuck in there with us. If you ever need a tank, don't hesitate to ask.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has replied back...I'm sitting in an editing studio tryind to print my documentary film to DVD...Fun, fun, fun. Anyways, been grping with a few different dragons lately but would like to meet some more. Plz give me a holler when your on...love to grp with some new people. Hey, I also think it's about time to have a fight to the death between the ever powerful silver dragon, and that wimp yellowbellied red dragon in VON. Time to show her true power. Hey all, haven't seen many people on lately... maybe im on at wrong time. i see blix all the time. he can't get off the computer just like me...lol

I would enjoy grping with some new guildies... have to try to hit that 20 mark, and i would love meeting some more awsome players. Anyways, gonna go... I will be back on Von1 again soon.

Well, the dragon went down tonight...Majar and Cantrip were there for it all...Cantrip had /death ready to go for the wing buffet...a simple enter

enter on the keyboard and his soul stone would have fallen straight down...somehow i got buffeted behind the hiding homebase stone...(i was

the only one)...kind of weird...i maybe computer glitched for a second and i ran into open and didn't know...anyways i got buffeted and hit enter

enter. I received the ominous unknown command...WHAT!!!! i was angry...but Majar stayed alive and the Wisodom helmet and the crappy

bracers dropped...SO IN THE END ITS GOOD I WAS THE ONE TO GET BLOWN OFF AND BUG HER...NOW I DON'T HAVE TO DO THEM ALL OVER

AGAIN...and if i wouldn't have died after the fact in the marketplace for now reason (fall damage) i would be very close to level 10...ohh well..


Yndrofian im ready to be the rogue for her again...I have the rogue job in von5-6 down to an art now...I jsut need to grp and hit level 10 now WOOT!!!!
