Q: What brought you to our website? If it was another site, please let us know where you heard of us. A: I was referred to the guild by a current member Torks. He said that you all were a large community and fun to be a member of. Q: This recruitment process is a great opportunity to get to know you a little bit. Please tell us a little about yourself personally and add in your past MMO experience. A: I'm a software developer who loves gaming in my free time. I've played many MMOs including Everquest for about 5 years and WoW from vanilla until the end of Cataclysm Q: What time of day do you typically play? How often? A: Evenings a few hours and weekends a lot more hours Q: What kind of character do you typically play? Tell us about your main character, and please list any alts that you will be bringing into the guild as well. A: I gravitate towards ranged dps or healing classes. My current character that I'm leveling is an Esper that I plan to use as DPS. I may try out healing someday as well. I was a raid healer for a lot of my time in WoW so I'm curious how Wildstar compares. Q: Are you affiliated with any other guilds? A: No Q: What is it you're looking for in a guild? Why do you want to join OSD? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A: I'm looking for an active community that likes to run dungeons and raids. Q: We have found that guild members have a better gaming experience if they use the forums and the events calender. This allows you to get game information and join you guildmates in-game as a group. Members should RSVP for scheduled events as their real life schedule permits. Creating events is good for the community and is encouraged whenever possible. What are your thoughts on this? A: I have used event calendars both in EQ and WoW and I agree that it is very helpful in organizing events. I will try to sign up for as many events as my time allows. Q: OSD is generally a "casual, do it all" guild, meaning we welcome players from all playstyles and don't limit our focus to one playstyle in particular. We welcome PvPers, PvEers, Roleplayers, Crafters, etc. For example, while we may offer weekly raids, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires you to raid 5 or 6 nights a week. We also do not consider any one playstyle to be more important than another, all members of OSD are equal. For example, a hardcore PvPer will never be considered "more valuable" to the guild than a casual Roleplayer would be. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: That is perfect for me. I used to be a hardcore raider but I no longer have the time to dedicate to that. Now I enjoy a much more casual playstyle that is focused on enjoyment of the game rather than the min/maxing. Q: With the previous question in mind...we will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role, or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and ven the playing field a little. Are you okay with this? Any additional thoughts on this topic? A: That sounds great! Q: If you violate any rules defined within the gaming EULA, or the OSD Code of Conduct you will face disciplinary action up to and including removal from this community. Do you understand and agree with this rule? A: yes Q: Is bacon awesome? Why? A: yes because it is delicious
Thanks for making your way to our gates! I've accepted both of your permission groups, so welcome to OSD! We have a huge amount of info in our new member thread that we like to have all our new members check out, specifically for our Wildstar division. Also, we require all new members to complete loyalty quests. These are really just fun things to do with the guild and it proves to us that you want to spend time with everyone (and other members will want to spend time with you). Most of these things you'll be doing regardless, so it's not something out of the ordinary, but they are exclusive to the guild. The loyalty quests are mandatory if you want to be promoted from Cupcake to Dragon. For full details on this check out our loyalty quests page. As far as an in-game invite, look up Xanz, Balerathon, Greenmonk, Bubbajay, Bellix, Raulin or Izzy. One last thing that we ask is that when you’re in the in-game guild, that you post your forum name (if it’s different from your character name) in the roster notes.
We love folks who've been recommended! That way we have someone to blame!!! HA!! Welcome to the family!
Welcome to OSD... where you'll come to realize that Torks did not tell you nearly enough, but only after it is too late.
