Q 1: Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us? A: Elder Scrolls Online Q 2: Do you currently have characters playing in game? If so, What is the name of your in game character and what server are they on? A: Karinsa (dragon knight). NA server. I just started this one to check out the changes implemented since launch. Q 3: Guilds can serve many roles, and as with most things, expectations matter. In order to get a better feel for whether this is a good fit, we would like to know what you look for in a guild. A: The best time I have ever had in gaming was in an Everquest guild for about 7 years. That guild had a friendly and helpful community that worked together to defeat the game's toughest content. And adult humor, among other things. We didn't take ourselves too seriously but did get down to business when raids demanded the attention etc.. In any mmo I play, I try to aim for that guild experience I had in that guild. Or something close, anyway. Q 4: When and How often do you usually play? This is so we know when to look for you in game and get you in the Guild. (Please add your time zone in the answer) A: I am a stay-at-home dad, so my play times are pretty flexible. Most of my free time is between 6am and 4pm, then from 9pm til midnight or so. Any later than that and I risk paying for it dearly when my two toddlers wake up before the sun rises. Central Q 5: Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played them? Please share one of your favorite memories in a MMO you have played. A: My first MMO was EQ in 2000. I was introduced to it by my dad when i was 15. I told my dad "this is the dumbest game I have ever seen, dad. You and your cloth map..." He may as well have introduced me to heroin. I was hooked for the next 15 years. I spent half my life playing that game. I quit EQ in 2013 due to kids because babies are terrible for raiding. My favorite memory would have to be meeting a guild applicant in 2006. I was an officer in the guild, and she was an applicant. She played a necromancer. I thought she was skilled with the class and had a great sense of humor. She was a perfect fit for the guild. I vouched for her and she got accepted. One thing led to another and in 2008 I moved from Portland to Houston. In 2012 I married her. In 2013, we had our first boy, and in 2015 our second boy. I've been playing MMO's since Clinton, but the best memory is meeting my wife (all part of my master plan to have my 2 kids run my bot army in EQ) Q 6: What is the best game you have ever played and why? A: Everquest. See question 5. Q 7: Are there any upcoming games you're interested in playing? A: Nothing I have seen yet. There was No Man's Sky, but god damn i'm glad I waited for the reviews on that one... Question Category - Community OSD is a group of folks that has gamed together for more than ten years, many of us consider this group as extended family. The following questions help us to understand who YOU are as a person, not just a gamer. As we are more than just a gaming community we like to get to know a little about the folks that want to be part of it. Q 8: OSD advertises on various gaming websites, Facebook, Twitter, and in the games that we are playing. The following questions will help us know what formats are working and where we can improve. Who or What brought you to our Gates? A: I just did a simple Reddit search for guilds recruiting in ESO. This one stood out to me, so here I am. Q 9: There are many ways to engage and get the full guild experience with OSD. How often do you see yourself using the Forums / Discord rather than in-game to interact with the community? A: Often. Gaming is one thing, but I have always loved the forum aspect of it. I'm pretty new to Discord. I only got introduced to it last year while playing Final Fantasy 14. I didn't get into any good communities so it has been sitting on my desktop for a while now. I am a huge fan of voice chat. Probably because I am lazy and talking is cheaper than typing. Q 10: Please tell us a little about yourself. No need to be too explicit. We don’t need your home address or shoe size. Let us know about your hobbies if you have them. Do you have family? Pets? Work? Do you plan to conquer the world by using Lucky Rabbit’s feet or some other crazy idea? (This is probably one of the biggest questions on this application as it lets you tell us about you.) A: I live in Houston, Texas with a wife, two boys and a Boston Terrier dog. The four of them drive me crazy but I love it. I used to work as a cell phone repair tech, but quit three years ago to raise kids (they are much easier than bitchy customers). I'm about 70% done with a degree in computer science and plan on getting a job in a Houston school district when I finish it. Nobody told me there would be this much math involved. Please, if you read this, send help. Why is there this much math? Q 11: Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A: Yes.
Welcome to the Gates, Shawn! A rep from ESO should be along shortly to review your app. @Tink05051984
Ditto, what he said! I agree on No Man's Sky. What got me on that one is the report of two players on the same planet, in the same spot that could not see each other. That is not an MMO of any kind if you can't interact with other people in any way.
Welcome to the OSD Community Shawn!!! I am glad to have you joining us in ESO. If you send me an in-game mail at either @Tink05051984 or my main toon Irdissa I will get you invite into guild. Please let me know if you have any questions.
