I am currently playing Final Fantasy 14 on the PS4. My character’s name is Crelian Lagann and he is a level 50 warrior on Diablos. Q. This is the getting to know you portion of the questionnaire. Please tell us a little about yourself. (Hobbies?Family? Pets? School? Work? Any super hero or super villain abilities, nefarious schemes we should know about?) A. Hello all! My name is Shane. I am 35 and happily married to my wife of almost 3 years. We have 2 kids a 10 year old daughter and a 3 year old son. I am a kitchen designer and my wife is getting ready to start nursing school. We have a cat and a dog we rescued about 2 months ago. As for hobbies right now they mostly include games and work. Q. Why do you want to join OSD? What is it you are looking for in a guild? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A. I am looking to join a guild that is active, but still understands that I have a family and other things that take priority. I am still working my way through the main story quest into heavensward, but I am willing to help out however I can whenever I can. The best way this community can help me is to help me learn how to be the best I can at my role and learning the encounters. Q - What led you to our website and ultimately to filling out this application? (Which friend? Website? In game ad? Psychic magnetism?) A. I was on the main ffxiv site looking in the community forums to see if any free companies were recruiting and found a post from OSD. Read the guild philosophy and deiced that this was exactly the kind of group I was looking for. Q. What is your typical game play schedule like? Please include times and time zones. A. My play schedule varies due to work. IF I am playing it usually in the morning or late evening. So depending on my schedule it is usually 8-11am est or 9pm-12am est. My days off rotate , but on those days it just depends on what else we have planned for the day. Q. What is the best game you have ever played and why? A. There a few. My favorite games growing up were super Metroid and Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger was my introduction to JRPGS and just opened up the flood gates to me for that genre. I loved the characters and the stories and NG+ really spoiled me. Super Metroid was the game I have probably played through the most in my life. The enivorment and just how open everything seemed at the time. You land on an alien world after a very tense opening and just begin exploring this brand new world. Q. What platforms do you usually game on? If not just a PC, which consoles? A. I usually play games on PS4 and PC. Q. Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played for? A. I started playing MMO’s with everquest back in high school. I played that up until the 1st expansion. I played ffxi and wow on and off for a while. Q. What is your favorite part of an MMO and why? (Leveling, PvP, raiding, community, roleplaying, crafting, achievements, exploration, etc) A. My favorite part on an mmo is the community and leveling. I enjoy working together with a group to accomplish things. I have never got into crafting, but It seems a lot more interesting in ffvix. I also want to try PvP. Q. Are there any future MMO's or multiplayer games you're interested in playing? A. The only other multiplayer games I am playing right now are the division and destiny on ps4. I want to get a new arcade stick so I can start playing fighting games again as well. Every now and then I play dungeon fighter online. Q. OSD is more than just a guild in a single game. We are a community of gamers that come together through the forums and Teamspeak. Do you plan on being active on the forums and our Discord server? What are your thoughts on using event calendars on the forums to coordinate guild events? A. I will be active on discord. I definitely like the event calander. It definitely helps when trying to plan upcoming events and rl events. Q. OSD has earned and prides itself on a reputation of respect, maturity and integrity. If you violate any of these rules you jeopardize the reputation of our community and will face disciplinary action up to, and including, removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A. I do Q. We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your play style of choice. However, from time to time, you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. What are your thoughts on this topic? A. Sounds great. I will help out however I can. I will let you know if I am not familiar with an ecounter Q. Pretend you are raiding with the guild and after the final boss fight an uber fantastic, stupendous, ultra rare, sparkly item drops. Who do you think should receive this item and why? A. I think there should be a couple things that factor into this. The first would be is there anybody who has been trying to get this item for an extended amount of time. Has this person been running this content longer than anyone else trying to get this one item. If not and this is a guild activity it should go to who is going to use it to benefit the guild more. If it’s a tank item it should go to the tank that is there that needs the upgrade the most. Q. Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A.While I do like bacon, I do not like all the crazy concoctions it has been put into. Bacon for breakfast: great, bacon cheeseburger: amazing, bacon milkshake with bacon sprinkle and bacon grease drizzle: what the ….? There are somegthings that should not exist. I did have a dream one time where the bacon tried to eat me. Was not a pleasant experience, but I still love you bacon.
