Acknowledgement: OSD has earned and prides itself on a reputation of respect, maturity and integrity. Please read the OSD CODE OF CONDUCT. If you violate any of these rules you jeopardize the reputation of our community and will face disciplinary action up to, and including, removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? (Yes / No) YES Question Category - The GAMES I Like! Q 1: Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us? A: I am venturing into the world of Final Fantasy IV. Q 2: Do you currently have characters playing in game? If so, What is the name of your in game character and what server are they on? A: I have one character, Arryetta Gulliver, who is on Diablos in FFXIV. Q 3: Guilds can serve many roles, and as with most things, expectations matter. In order to get a better feel for whether this is a good fit, we would like to know what you look for in a guild. A: As a new player, I hope to find a guild with the patience and mentorship to help me work on my ability as well as game play. In so, as I grow, I want to be an active part of groups in the world to aide effectively when called upon. Q 4: When and How often do you usually play? This is so we know when to look for you in game and get you in the Guild. (Please add your time zone in the answer) A: I have been playing just over a month, 2-6 times a week depending on my schedule in Easten Time zone. Q 5: Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played them? Please share one of your favorite memories in a MMO you have played. A: This is my first MMO. This is actually the first game I have played besides The Sims since Donkey Kong on the N64. I took an affinity for FFXIV when I found I could be a healer and help those who are fighting. Since I started a month ago, switching from computer to console (having never used any PlayStation before) I have slowly become accustomed to the innerworkings of a world that is not my own, but that I found myself relating to in ways that I haven’t in years. Thus far, my favorite part has been getting to know and understand the role the healer plays in battle sequence. I made it through my first two dungeons and felt immense pride at keeping everyone sustained throughout the entirety of the run. Q 6: What is the best game you have ever played and why? A: I don’t have a long list to choose from, and though I enjoy the role of “God” on The Sims, I am becoming more and more attuned to FFXIV. The world is by far superior and storyline riveting. I gain a sense of fulfillment in completing tasks and acquiring new spells to aide in the fight against evil. Q 7: Are there any upcoming games you're interested in playing? A: I think I am going to give my hand to Final Fantasy VI after my fiancé is done playing it. For now, though, learning the ropes in one game is enough of a challenge for a baby player such as myself. Question Category - Community OSD is a group of folks that has gamed together for more than ten years, many of us consider this group as extended family. The following questions help us to understand who YOU are as a person, not just a gamer. As we are more than just a gaming community we like to get to know a little about the folks that want to be part of it. Q 8: OSD advertises on various gaming websites, Facebook, Twitter, and in the games that we are playing. The following questions will help us know what formats are working and where we can improve. Who or What brought you to our Gates? A: My fiancé is a part of the company and suggested I join to learn from higher levels in the healer role. Q 9: There are many ways to engage and get the full guild experience with OSD. How often do you see yourself using the Forums / Discord rather than in-game to interact with the community? A: I really want to get as much advice on the game as possible from those who have played it. I tend to ask a lot of questions as well as give my voice to discussions whenever I can. Q 10: Please tell us a little about yourself. No need to be too explicit. We don’t need your home address or shoe size. Let us know about your hobbies if you have them. Do you have family? Pets? Work? Do you plan to conquer the world by using Lucky Rabbit’s feet or some other crazy idea? (This is probably one of the biggest questions on this application as it lets you tell us about you.) A: I came back into the world of video games after I met my now fiancé exactly a year ago. He showed me the beauty of an imaginary world I could see and participate in. Aside from that, I attend school to finish my bachelors in marketing, write fiction when I can, yell at the cat to get off of the table, and aide my mother who battles with cancer. Q 11: Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A: Though I have not eaten faces since ’07, I can say that bacon is still a craving that manifests. I often wake with a guilty feeling after a lucid dream about eating a pile of bacon.

Welcome to the Gates, Kristin! Tink mentioned the updates that are happening in the guild and on the site. They are also covered in the Silver Flagon Tavern in an RP style that you may enjoy. There are several areas of the site where members have added flavor by making RP posts about their characters. Some of these include the Pen-and-paper (PnP) D&D forums, DDO and others. Yndrofian has started a chronicle for a static group in DDO that's highlighted on the front page. You mentioned that you write fiction. What genre do you tend to write in? Could we, perhaps, be guilding the next Anne McCaffrey?
Hello Everyone! I am going to try and get on and send a "whisper" to Flash. Probles Obles (my fiance) is going to help me. I have written accross all genres of fiction. My latest idea is more in the realm of science fiction where microbots can restore life rendering everyone virtually immortal.
Also, thank you ever so much for the acceptance! I will definitely look into the role playing aspects!
We are working on getting Krystin a keyboard so that she can communicate on FFXIV but until then I will be helping her out with correspondence within the actual game. We have an event to go to tonight but I'll try to get her on soon so she can talk to Flash or one of the other officers about getting into the FC. Thanks, guys!
