Q. Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us, and do you currently have characters playing in game? If so what are their names? Which realm? Which platform? A. FF14 - Diabolos - Via Haena - PC Q. This is the getting to know you portion of the questionnaire. Please tell us a little about yourself. (Hobbies?Family? Pets? School? Work? Any super hero or super villain abilities, nefarious schemes we should know about?) A. Been off MMOs for some time now and returning to FF14, which has always had a special place in my heart. I do have a family that I provide for, so I have to enjoy my games casually. My superpower is that I have a slightly heightened sense of smell. Q. Why do you want to join OSD? What is it you are looking for in a guild? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A. I am looking for a Free Company that allows casual gamers to exist without being shunned for lack of contributions. Reading up on OSD, it seems the guild welcomes all types of players and really seems committed to being a mature group of people that simply enjoy gaming. I think I would fit right in with OSD's code of conduct. Q - What led you to our website and ultimately to filling out this application? (Which friend? Website? In game ad? Psychic magnetism?) A. I actually researched free companies to join on the Diabolos world. OSD stood out as the free company that would cater to casual gamers and also have a code of conduct that shuns toxic players and "takes the high road". Q. What is your typical game play schedule like? Please include times and time zones. A. Usually after 0830 PM PST. Cannot stay up too late on weekdays, but can play into the wee hours of the morning on the weekends. Q. What is the best game you have ever played and why? A. Valkyria Chronicles. Great story, simple, but effective graphics. It has tactics, guns, tanks, rockets, gods, love, epic struggles, team work, strategy.. I could go on! Q. What platforms do you usually game on? If not just a PC, which consoles? A. Primarily a PC player, but I also have a PS4 and a Wii U Q. Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played for? A. EQ, WOW, Aion, Rift, SWTOR, Runes of Magic, Tera, DAOC, Blade & Soul, City of Heroes, The Secret World, FF14, a little BDO.. I am sure there are more, but I can not seem to recall at the moment. Been playing MMOs for a long time, over 16 years. Q. What is your favorite part of an MMO and why? (Leveling, PvP, raiding, community, roleplaying, crafting, achievements, exploration, etc) A. I like the leveling, explrations, dungeons and just enjoying a well made game with others who enjoy the game. Dislike greed, rude, poisonous behavior. Q. Are there any future MMO's or multiplayer games you're interested in playing? A. Not at the moment. Q. OSD is more than just a guild in a single game. We are a community of gamers that come together through the forums and Teamspeak. Do you plan on being active on the forums and use TS? What are your thoughts on using event calendars on the forums to coordinate guild events? A. I would like to, but as I am more of a casual gamer, I may be unable to be too active on the forums. Family and work does come first. Q. OSD has earned and prides itself on a reputation of respect, maturity and integrity. Please read the OSD CODE OF CONDUCT. If you violate any of these rules you jeopardize the reputation of our community and will face disciplinary action up to, and including, removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A. I agree. Q. We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time, you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. What are your thoughts on this topic? A. If I am on, I will help. Q. Pretend you are raiding with the guild and after the final boss fight an uber fantastic, stupendous, ultra rare, sparkly item drops. Who do you think should receive this item and why? A. Whoever the guild leaders think should get it. Leadership exists for a reason: making the hard calls. Q. Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A. Bacon was awesome until I dreamed of drowning in a pool of bacon fat. Then, not so much.
