Greetings - I hope my answers to the questions below will help you all to get to know me a little better! Q. Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us, and do you currently have characters playing in game? If so what are their names? Which realm? Which platform? A. Final Fantasy XIV - Anomander Raake - Diabolos - PC Q. This is the getting to know you portion of the questionnaire. Please tell us a little about yourself. (Hobbies?Family? Pets? School? Work? Any super hero or super villain abilities, nefarious schemes we should know about?) A. I enjoy gaming, reading (currently Malazan Book of the Fallen), and cooking (Turkey dinners are my specialty - I make a mean mushroom stuffing). I have a long-term girlfriend, and we have a dog named Scoots. I finished university many moons ago, and work in Human Resources. Q. Why do you want to join OSD? What is it you are looking for in a guild? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A. I want to join because I am friends IRL with Kul Rynn and he has told me great things about this group. I am looking for a relaxed group of people to do various things with in-game (leveling, FATEs, dungeons, raids, etc). I am just getting back in to FFXIV, but as I become more knowledgeable, I hope to help out other new members. The community can best help me by being patient with my silly questions as I re-acquaint myself with the game. Q - What led you to our website and ultimately to filling out this application? (Which friend? Website? In game ad? Psychic magnetism?) A. Kul Rynn recommended that I apply for membership. Q. What is your typical game play schedule like? Please include times and time zones. A. Weekday evenings (7:00pm - 11:00pm) and Weekends (any time). EST Q. What is the best game you have ever played and why? A. Final Fantasy XII because Ivalice is legit. Q. What platforms do you usually game on? If not just a PC, which consoles? A. PC, PS4 Q. Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played for? A. I've been playing MMOs for 10+ years. I've played: Wow, SWTOR, ESO, FFXI, Rift, Warhammer Online. I might be forgetting a few. I generally give them all a try, and stick around if they are any good. Q. What is your favorite part of an MMO and why? (Leveling, PvP, raiding, community, roleplaying, crafting, achievements, exploration, etc) A. I love raiding. I enjoy learning new mechanics, and progressing through content. Q. Are there any future MMO's or multiplayer games you're interested in playing? A. Not at the moment. Q. OSD is more than just a guild in a single game. We are a community of gamers that come together through the forums and Teamspeak. Do you plan on being active on the forums and use TS? What are your thoughts on using event calendars on the forums to coordinate guild events? A. I'm happy to participate as part of a community. I think coordinating guild events through event calendars on the forums is a great idea. Q. OSD has earned and prides itself on a reputation of respect, maturity and integrity. Please read the OSD CODE OF CONDUCT. If you violate any of these rules you jeopardize the reputation of our community and will face disciplinary action up to, and including, removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A. Yes. Q. We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time, you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. What are your thoughts on this topic? A. Coming together to help other members of the guild is why I am excited to join. I'm always happy to help in any way that I can. Q. Pretend you are raiding with the guild and after the final boss fight an uber fantastic, stupendous, ultra rare, sparkly item drops. Who do you think should receive this item and why? A. I think that whoever it would be the biggest upgrade for should receive the loot. This would strengthen the group overall, and allow for greater progression, which will ultimately result in more sweet loot. Q. Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A. Bacon is pretty much the best. In my dreams, my clothes are made out of bacon. This provides me with salty snacks all day, and eliminates the need to do laundry (i hate laundry). See you in Eorzea! - Anomander
First let me apologize for my late response, have been at a yearly CON with my wife since last Thursday so I have not gotten much time to check the forums for new Applications. That aside the application looks good and I'm glad Kul recommended you here. I gave you half of the forum permissions as you requested but would like you to also request Citizen Permissions so you can get full forum access. If you can request that and respond below that would be great and if you can respond below to let me know when that is done please and thank you. Have you gotten into the FC yet? Check out this thread when you get a chance. Welcome to OSD! Doc Here is how you request permission groups: 1. Click the following link ... (Permission Groups) (If you want to get there without the link, click settings which is at the top right of this page, then scroll down and click permission groups on the left side). 2. Select the radio button to Join Group for “Citizen.” Then, scroll down and hit the “Join Group”button.
