So onto the thing- Q. Which game(s) are you currently interested in playing with us, and do you currently have characters playing ingame? If so what are their names? Which realm? Which platform? A. Currently only FFXIV, though I may pick up BDO again if time permits. My IGN for FFXIV is Izayoi Yukimori. Q. This is the getting to know you portion of the questionnaire. Please tell us a little about yourself. (Hobbies?Family? Pets? School? Work? Any super hero or super villain abilities, nefarious schemes we should know about?) A. Well I am not sure about nefarious schemes (lol) but uh... Well the handle I am using nowadays is Alroetsue/Aloevera. Presently I am a university student studying music (though I am thinking of switching to English) and like to draw things in my spare time and take the rare commission here and there. Here is a recent example of my nonsense. I also attempt to sing things every now and then, and am plotting on wrangling some code to begin a long term RPG/VN hybrid project with a friend. We're both artists with minimal code knowledge (I've done some javascript and python) so uh, it will be very interesting LOL. Otherwise, I have dogs and have an appreciation for Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, and some JP anime if I actually do sit down and watch it- Q. Why do you want to join OSD? What is it you are looking for in a guild? How do you think you can best help this community? How can this community best help you? A. I actually was in another FC over on Siren, though eventually activity dropped and whoever was still around had statics outside of the FC. I couldn't really get around to doing any end game content (both old and new) and the server itself was lack luster activity wise. I transferred to Diabolos to roll with a friend and here I am, looking for an FC that remembers life exists. What I like to see in guilds is that people recognise that priorities do exist and if something happens in IRL that pulls you away from the normal schedule that it doesn't mean that the very gates of the inferno have opened themselves. Friendly communities, too, are also a plus and generally just folk who remember at the end of the day that it's a game and that any and all salt should be left at the front door. I don't really know what I can do to best help out the comm besides throwing myself into raids and whatnot when available and (hopefully) not faceroll the mechanics, but if this community could help me get back into the swing of the game (I stopped playing for a while due to school and getting burned out due to mining way too much), then that would be awesome and well if any of us could be friends on some level that would also be cool. ... Oh, well, if anyone wants cheap portrait commissions of their characters across games I could do those too. (ﾉ^ヮ^)ﾉ*:・ﾟ✧ Q - What led you to our website and ultimately to filling out this application? (Which friend? Website? In game ad? Psychic magnetism?) A. An ad on the FFXIV forums. Q. What is your typical game play schedule like? Please include times and time zones. A. EST -5:00 Anywhere between 3:00PM to stupidly late (3:00AM-5:00AM). Any day (though a few hours cut off whenever I am randomly scheduled for work) Q. What is the best game you have ever played and why? A. Is this restricted to MMOs?... Or any games? //scratches head Well MMO wise I'd honestly say FFXIV. I've done a lot of game hopping over the years and the only games that have kept my attention long term are FFXIV and Mabinogi. After playing many F2P MMOs and some P2P (Guild Wars 2, Black Desert, TERA before F2P), FFXIV is just the most comfortable? It's hard to describe and as an arts student all I can manage are very vague and abstract descriptions of these feels LOL. Q. What platforms do you usually game on? If not just a PC, which consoles? A. Only PC nowadays. Q. Tell us a little about your experience with MMOs. Which MMOs have you played and how long have you played for? A. Oh, well I guess I kinda covered this one a bit a couple questions back. I've played several MMOs and many to which I can't even remember the names too (ye olde highschool days lol). The ones off the top of my head are Mabinogi, Dungeon Fighter Online, Maple Story, Guild Wars 2, TERA, Black Desert, Dragon Nest, Vindictus (lol lots of nexon games here sorry), Tree of Savior, Ragnarok Online 1, S4 League if it counts, League of Legends, Trickster Online... meh. I've been playing MMOs since late elementary school and the games I have clocked the most hours on are probably DFO, Mabinogi, FFXIV and S4 League. I played Mabinogi from closed beta right up until 2014-ish, DFO from open beta off of Nexon to present release from Neople (though I am not active on it now)... I've been playing FFXIV rather casually since 2.0's release (though with a couple long breaks) til now. Other MMOs I play for some time before getting bored and returning to whatever the main game is at the time. Q. What is your favorite part of an MMO and why? (Leveling, PvP, raiding, community, roleplaying, crafting, achievements, exploration, etc) A. Exploration and leveling, though I also enjoy running dungeons and raids. Q. Are there any future MMO's or multiplayer games you're interested in playing? A. I kind of sorta of really want to buy Overwatch but that doesn't really count as an MMO- Q. OSD is more than just a guild in a single game. We are a community of gamers that come together through the forums and Teamspeak. Do you plan on being active on the forums and use TS? What are your thoughts on using event calendars on the forums to coordinate guild events? A. I've never been good at being active on forums but I will try to stick around and post fairly frequently. I've actually never used TS before but I have used Ventrillo and Raidcall before. Q. OSD has earned and prides itself on a reputation of respect, maturity and integrity. Please read the OSD CODE OF CONDUCT. If you violate any of these rules you jeopardize the reputation of our community and will face disciplinary action up to, and including, removal from this community. Do you understand, and agree with this rule? A. Yes and yes. Q. We will never force you to participate in any activity or event that falls outside your playstyle of choice. However, from time to time, you may be asked to help the guild out if we are short on a particular role or just need to fill up an empty group spot. For example, if you happen to be a tank built character, and we need to fill out a raid spot with a tank, we may ask you to come along and help out the raid. Or if we happen to be outnumbered in a PvP battle, we may ask you to come help us bolster our numbers and even the playing field a little. What are your thoughts on this topic? A. I don't know about PVP since I am pretty much always awful at it and always avoid it in games (it's always really stressed me out and I have no idea why), but I am totally cool with helping out with everything else if I'm around for it. Q. Pretend you are raiding with the guild and after the final boss fight an uber fantastic, stupendous, ultra rare, sparkly item drops. Who do you think should receive this item and why? A. As shiny and cool as that item is, I think whoever needs it most be it for their class or whatever else should have priority? Q. Is bacon awesome? What form does bacon manifest in your dreams? A. Have you ever seen Food Wars? I still want to make this thing Have some bonus dogs-
Nice application and cute dogs! Your permissions are set so you are able to read through the various forums and sub-forums. I'll leave the FFXIV specific info to Doc to handle, but should you choose to be active in BDO, I would point you to this thread specifically to get started: http://silverdragons-lair.net/showthread.php?25065-BDO-Division-Info-New-Members-Read-This-First! There are a bunch of links in there including how to get a BDO guild invite. I swear I'm not trying to hijack you to the desert! (or maybe I am ... nefarious schemes are everywhere)
